Build wooden house with your own hands - not such a difficult thing. The main thing is to know and take into account all the subtleties when performing each type of work.

Construction wooden houses from A to Z includes:

  • choice of material;
  • drafting a project;
  • foundation construction;
  • erection of walls;
  • roof installation;
  • hanging windows and doors.

So, let's try to disassemble by the bones how to build a wooden house with our own hands.

Choosing a tree

Modern wooden houses are built from logs and beams. The best log is rounded. It is sorted and processed industrially. Therefore, the material contains a minimum amount of traces of knots and is sufficiently dried. Chopped logs can also be used to build walls.

Why are log walls good? They have a maximum thickness, due to which the warmth is kept for a long time in living quarters in cold weather. A log house has a long service life; looks original and beautiful.

Glued profiled timber has similar characteristics. In addition to its great thickness (210 marking is used for capital construction), it has the following important qualities:

  • Provides minimal shrinkage (only 5 cm);
  • Maximum resistance to aggressive effects external environment;
  • Practically does not rot due to special industrial processing;
  • Does not have natural defects (resin pockets, insects, etc.) that affect the quality of the walls.

In addition to profiled, the construction of wooden houses is carried out from sawn and planed timber. Their cost is several orders of magnitude lower. The bars are less dry and therefore shrink more.

When it comes to choosing a type of wood, it is best to purchase conifers that grew in the northern part of the country. They are more resinous and therefore more moisture resistant. It is rational to build a wooden house with your own hands from spruce, cedar, pine.

Individual project

How to make a wooden house with your own hands without a project? It's almost impossible. A private builder is sure to make an oversight in something.
Qualitative individual projects take into account the peculiarities of each stage of construction. The type of foundation, the method of installing and fixing the crowns, the types of roofing are selected taking into account the properties of the log or timber.

With the approval of the customer, the layout of residential premises and their quadrature is developed. From the total area, or rather the length of the outer walls, depends how the crowns should be fixed. Many other nuances are also taken into account in projects. Do-it-yourself wooden houses, projects (photo below) for which are developed individually, turn out to be reliable and beautiful, have no flaws and are durable.

Foundation selection

Under a wooden house with your own hands you need a reliable durable foundation. Since capital structures made of wood do not have as much weight as stone ones, the choice of base is quite wide.

Foundations are being installed in private construction:

  • columnar;
  • tape;
  • slab.

Experts believe that the best of them is lightweight tape. It is called lightweight because crushed stone is not added when mixing the working solution. Therefore, the density of the hardened concrete is lower.

The columnar foundation, although very popular, has significant disadvantages. One of the most significant is the cost of the work. In addition to using special equipment to install piles or poles, a preliminary geodetic survey must often be carried out to determine the properties of the soil. Slab foundations good for residential wooden buildingshaving a large total area.

Although a spacious wooden house with your own hands (the video is presented at the end of the article) looks luxurious, it requires a lot of physical costs and money. According to the project, the depth of the strip foundation depends on the degree of soil freezing. The trench is dug to a depth where the soil does not freeze. The width of the trench should be 25 - 30 cm.

A strip foundation is being built under a wooden house with your own hands as follows:

  • 1. A trench of appropriate depth and width is dug.
  • 2. Sand is poured in a layer of 10 cm, poured with water and well compacted.
  • 3. A 10-centimeter layer of crushed stone is poured on top, which is also watered and compacted tightly.
  • 4. A layer of roofing material is laid on top of the pillow.
  • 5. The formwork is being installed. If it is not removable, it is reinforced with a metal wire.
  • 6. Reinforcement is mounted above the waterproofing layer. Antiseptic treated metal rods are pulled lengthwise and across, fastened with stiff wire.
  • 7. Then concrete is poured. Grades 200, 250 and 300 are suitable. The consistency of concrete should resemble liquid sour cream.

The sufficient setting time of the foundation is 10 - 12 days. Under favorable weather conditions, concrete gains its design strength up to 70-80% in 7-14 days. This is enough to already load the foundation, and a complete 100% solidification of the foundation will occur only after 28 days from the moment the foundation is poured.
You can continue to build a wooden house with your own hands (video at the end of the article).

Building walls

Independent construction of wooden houses simplified if a profiled beam is used.

It has grooves that connect easily. Before starting the construction of the walls, it is necessary to check the horizontalness of the foundation. It is necessary that the hydraulic level shows zero, since the construction geometry must be observed when installing the first crown.

The plane of the foundation must be perfectly flat and straight. In addition, when laying, the corners of the first crown are vertically aligned. They should be exactly 90 degrees. If the geometry of the construction is violated from the very beginning, the walls will not turn out smooth, there will be a skew at the level of window and door openings.

Do-it-yourself installation of a wooden house at the stage of wall construction is carried out as follows:

  • 1. A layer of roofing material is applied to the foundation without first applying mastic.
  • 2. If necessary, level the foundation surface, when its skew is more than one centimeter, wooden wedges are placed at a distance of 30 cm from one another.
  • 3. Above, a "zero" board is installed along the entire perimeter of the foundation.
  • 4. The space between it and the foundation is blown out with polyurethane foam.
  • 5. The first crown can be laid with an indent from the foundation edge of 25 cm. It is also allowed to install the crown behind the foundation edge at a distance of no more than 5 cm.
  • 6. At the corners, the first crown is attached to the anchors.
  • 7. The bowls of the first and subsequent rims for sealing are pulled together by assembly on a stud.
  • 8. The bowls of the first crown are pulled together using a reinforced washer 60x80 mm.
  • 9. Further strengthening of the screed with the use of a reinforced washer is made every 5 - 6 crowns.
  • 10. The screed along the perimeter of the crowns is made using metal or wooden pins.
  • 11. The crowns are connected to each other, thanks to the grooves. A new one is applied to the lower bar. It is inserted into the grooves by hitting the sledgehammer from above on the overhead board.
  • In addition to the anchoring, the end is also used - the ends of the crowns are joined at the ends. In this case, if one of them cracked, it is easily removed and replaced with a whole one.

Roof installation

The best option for a wooden house is a light gable or mansard roof... Complex roofs are appropriate for large buildings, as they are heavier. The proportionality of the weight of the roof with the ability to hold it to the walls of the house is calculated when drawing up an individual project. It is difficult for a non-professional to calculate this value correctly.

Do-it-yourself installation of a wooden house at the stage of roof installation consists of the following stages:

  • installation of base beams;
  • fastening rafters;
  • lathing;
  • laying waterproofing;
  • roof fastening.

Base beams (Mauerpaths) with one edge are attached to the upper rim in a diagonal position using anchors. The horizontality of the opposite ends is verified with a level. The rafters are wooden triangles. They are hammered together, and then fastened, starting from the ridge, to the beams. A crate is attached from above, that is, thin transverse and longitudinal boards. The size of the gaps depends on the choice of roofing material.

If it is supposed to cover the roof with sheet roofing (corrugated board, metal tile, slate, odulin), the distance between the crate is half a meter, with roll materials (roofing felt) - the crate has a maximum gap of one centimeter.

Waterproofing is lined on top of the crate. At the joints of the roof, its panel is overlapped with a gap of 15 - 20 cm.Above the waterproofing is attached roofing material... How a roof is installed on a wooden house with your own hands (video at the end of the article) can be seen in this diagram:

After installing the roof, it is advisable to insulate it, even if the attic will not be a living space. This allows you to halve the energy consumption when heating your home. Most the best insulation - mineral wool... It is made from natural raw materials, is non-toxic and keeps warm well for a long time. Mineral wool is cut into medium-sized panels, which are fixed between the beams and rafters.

If the attic is attic and family members will live in it, it is necessary to additionally insulate the floors and walls. For this, mineral wool is also used. In the first case, it is necessary to install lags; in the second case, the insulation is attached to the crate. At the same time, one should not forget about hydro and vapor barrier. You can close ugly gaps with chipboard plates.

Spacer for openings

Depending on the type of timber or log, a do-it-yourself wooden house built on average shrinks by 6 - 9%; glued timber house - up to 3%.
This must be taken into account when intending to install windows and doors. To avoid skewing and cracking of frames and door platbands, it is worth at the end of construction on the window and doorways to put windows.

They are T-shaped plates. Okosyachki are installed as follows:

  • 1. Grooves are cut out at the ends of the adjoining rims.
  • 2. Wooden blocks are driven into them.
  • 3. On top of the stuffing boxes along the entire perimeter of the openings.
  • 4. The gaps between the windows and the ends of the crowns are filled with tow.

In the future, the walls must be given time to "fall" into place. During this time, the openings retain a rectangular or quadrangular shape, do not warp, since the windows hold them securely. When the main shrinkage is over, you can fasten on top of the window window frames and door frames.

When viewed in section, the structure looks like this:

  • 1 - crowns;
  • 2 - tow (50 mm);
  • 3 - platband;
  • 4 - a box (40 mm);
  • 5 - slope slats;
  • 6 - window frame

Experienced carpenters know how to put windows on window and door openings of complex configuration. And even simple work is best left to them. With minimal experience, the crown often cracks along the end, the ossicles break during the shrinkage of the crowns.

So, you now know how to make a wooden house with your own hands. We wish you successful construction.

Nine stages of building a wooden house

I propose to start by dividing everything that is associated with the process of building a house from wood into separate components - the fact is that all construction processes can be divided into nine stages.

Further, in this section we will try to describe the components and features of each of the stages that are important in our opinion, focusing the attention of the future homeowner on interesting nuances and of course we will give our recommendations.

Choosing a site for a house

I am sure that every future homeowner will have to make a choice of a land plot according to many criteria. These criteria can differ significantly, but let's try to organize the most important ones. In addition to, of course, the perspective opening from the land plot, the slope, the absence of noise and silence, the presence of trees or shrubs - when choosing a site for construction, it is worth carefully studying the soil type of the site and access roads. The road and storage area during construction will be an important component in the organization of work. Good access roads can simplify the delivery and unloading of house kits and building materials. They will not spoil your mood when traveling to the site during the rainy months. In addition, good roads will bring significant time and budget savings to construction work.

The type of soil on the site can also significantly reduce your costs for foundation and drainage from your home. Ideally - if the soil on the site is sandy - in this case, you can use an inexpensive strip shallowly buried foundation. In other cases, the design must be selected. It will be necessary to take into account the characteristics of the soil and the level of groundwater at the site. In addition, the type of soil and groundwater affects the plantings on the site. For example, if the groundwater table is low, it will be easier to form a garden from fruit trees and stone fruits. Our recommendation is to place the house in a higher part of the plot, and choose a plot that is not too low in relation to the neighboring ones.

Choosing a project for a future wooden house

With a huge variety of projects that are offered on the sites today, it is important to understand - not all projects can be built... Our first recommendation is that if you have chosen a project, you should see this house as it was built. Being able to measure the project for yourself is quite important when determining the design solution for your home. But, of course, not all cottages can look as interesting as they looked on the website or on paper. Why is that? Because so many projects of wooden houses were developed in the 90s - at that time the culture and technological solutions for the construction of houses (more known for the dacha size 6 × 6 meters) were formed. Not all projects have been thought out From and To. In many, there was no sense of the planning decision and the nodes were not thought out. Structural mates such as roofs and floor joists were not secure enough to create problems for future homeowners. Perhaps our opponent will say that anything can be built. Perhaps ... but at what price? The cost of every ill-considered decision in the construction of a house, including wood, is very high. Choose carefully. Take your time. You can always consult an independent specialist for the most objective assessment of the quality of each project. For our part, we offer you our planning solutions. You can evaluate each of them by visiting the newly built house. We hope that your choice of project will be the best solution for your family.

Foundation construction

Everybody knows foundation is the foundation of any home... And you definitely need a good solid foundation. In practice, the reliability of the foundation directly depends on several components: Who is doing? How does? What materials does it use?

You and I live in Russia and of course we notice that even in Moscow the roads and sidewalks are not ideal. The first question is who are the contractors?

We recommend choosing a reliable and responsible contractor for the installation of the foundation of your house, and not a group of guest workers from the nearest construction market in the Moscow region. Engaging an experienced foreman in the work will give you confidence in quality. Knowledge by workers technological processes when pouring the foundation, it will relieve you of the need to correct mistakes that will inevitably arise when you turn to the services of guest workers, who will tell you that "they can do everything." All in all, it will save you time and money... Relieve unnecessary stress and tension for the nervous system.

The emphasis during the installation of the foundation must be made on point 3 - "what it does". The use of high-quality ready-mixed concrete of a high grade and a connected powerful reinforcing cage, strong, precisely sized formwork are also necessary components of a reliable and solid foundation of your wooden house. We recommend using ready-mixed concrete of classes not lower than B-17.5. In the construction of our houses, we use only B-22.5 concrete. According to the old Soviet classification system, it corresponds to the concrete grade M-300. At the same time, the installation of the lower crown of the house on such a reliable foundation can be performed within 5-10 days after pouring concrete into the formwork.

Assembling the box at home

Let's imagine that the foundation of your house is already ready. After that, and before the installation of the first crown, work on laying the waterproofing must be performed. A special insulating material is laid on the surface of the foundation - reinforced waterproofing. This is a roll material, which, based on bituminous frost-resistant mastic, is applied to a special reinforcing fabric. The material prevents moisture from penetrating into the lower crown.

Next, the installation of the house kit begins. It begins with the lower crown of the house. It, in turn, consists of a half-crown and a crown overlapping it. In this case, it is important to carefully check the axial dimensions of the house and the diagonals. The geometry of the lower crown must be flawless, since this is the basis of the geometry of the future house. Therefore, the dimensions are checked with great care. As in the proverb: Seven times measure cut once.

Many of you will face a difficult choice - What material is better to choose for the walls of a wooden house? What is the best section of the log or bar to use? What kind of insulation is preferable to use when assembling a box at home? Some consider it a sufficient and economically reasonable option - using a log diameter of 200 mm or 220 mm or a bar with a section of 145 mm or 160 mm. Other future homeowners believe that a wooden house built from natural logs of these diameters will not be warm enough and order a larger material for the walls of the house - a log with a diameter of 280 mm or even 300 mm or a beam with a thickness of 240 mm or 280 mm. Which one is right?

Let's hear an opinion on this issue from wood construction experts and ask for recommendations from our engineers. Of course, both the size of the diameter of the log and the thickness glued laminated timber significantly affect the quality and comfort of a wooden house. It directly depends on how energy efficient and warm your home will be. At the same time, one cannot reject the cases when the crooked hands of shabashniks or random builders made a house cold from a log with a section of 260 mm. Rather, even so that a house built with a diameter of 200 mm turned out to be of better quality and warmer.

According to experts, it is more important that when selecting raw materials for the manufacture of logs with a diameter of 280-300 mm, sawlogs of a larger section are used. And for a diameter of 200-220 mm - on the contrary, a younger forest. As a result, the sawlogs are older and have a more stable, stable structure and, of course, a much thicker layer of dense wood. We get desired effect - a natural log of large diameter practically has no spatial deformations and cracks less. A thick log has little shrinkage. It does not require difficult adjustments during installation. This way you end up with a different, higher build quality. The joints and joints will be tight even after the installation of the house kit and, after a while, after the shrinkage of the assembled box. The conclusion of experts is that a house made of large diameter logs will not only be warmer, but also of higher quality. It must be borne in mind that the effect of increasing the thickness of the wall material will be higher when using the northern forest and less significant when using the forest from the regions adjacent to Moscow.

The economic component is certainly not the last one when making an important decision on the section of the wall material. But think a few times - in fact, the difference of 200-300 thousand rubles in the total construction budget is less than 5%. Taking into account the future costs of heating the house, this difference will return to your pocket, and the advantages of a large diameter will always be with you and - completely free.

An important component during the installation of the house kit are floor beams, floor beams and rafters. Here, too, the cross-section of building parts is important. We recommend using a bar with a cross section of at least 200 mm. It is better to use rafters with a cross section of at least 200 × 50 mm. At our facilities, as an option, we offer customers the installation of these elements from Siberian larch.

During installation, the pitch of the rafters and beams should not be more than 60 cm. Such a distance between the load-bearing elements of the house's structures - beams and rafters - makes it possible to lay heat or sound-proof plates efficiently and tightly.

When installing a house, it is worth looking ahead and foreseeing activities that you cannot do without to create a comfortable home. What is meant? We mean the acoustic comfort inside the house and another important point is the wall ventilation. Many, including the builders of wooden houses, naively believe that the use of conventional inter-crown cushioning materials will not create problems. They hope that they will "work" ... In fact, it turns out the following - the details of the walls of a wooden house - be it a rounded log, glued or simple profiled timber - undergo deformations and slightly change their size. In this case, the following occurs: 1. There are gaps between the crowns, including in glued beams, this happens. 2. Parts begin to breathe and creak.

There is no time for acoustic comfort - any movement in one part of the house is transmitted to other rooms. Especially it concerns intermediate floors and interior walls attic. How to protect yourself from this? Wood house building experts recommend using only proven mezhventsovy heaters and seals. Our company uses such material. It's called "Klimalan". The material is produced in Germany on the basis of sheep wool, which has long been known as excellent thermal insulation and very effective sound insulation. Mezhventsovy heater "Klimalan" the highest class for sound insulation and noise suppression - European Class A. Almost all of our customers have chosen this material for the insulation of the walls of their wooden houses.

Contour finishing

The first stage of finishing a wooden house - what we call contour finishing - will start in several types preparatory work... This is, first of all, grinding the surfaces of the external walls of a wooden one - without this it is impossible high-quality painting walls outside, then the ideal plane is drawn truss structure at home and preparing it for the subsequent installation of insulation. This is followed by the finishing of the eaves and overhangs of the protruding parts of the roof, then the installation of not the main, but the subfloor with its preliminary treatment with antiseptic compounds follows.

You should not overlook the high-quality insulation of the junction of the fronts and the rafter structure. The heat loss through the roof will also depend on how well it will be insulated.

After preparatory activities finished - begins important work, namely, the insulation of the truss structure, or, in short, the insulation of the roof. It is advisable to pay attention to the size of the eaves and roof overhangs. It must be over 70 centimeters. We have gone even further in our projects. We offer a basic configuration, in which the overhangs are already 900 mm from the wall axis, and as an option, we offer roof extensions of 1,200 and 1,500 mm. This is already a real chalet. The building material that we use for finishing the eaves is a thick dry finishing board. We do not recommend using all kinds of plastic soffits. The fact is that a wooden house (including one made of laminated veneer lumber) will “breathe” and the plastic “lining” will quickly lose its shape. Keep in mind that the material for the roofing should be sufficient and not a thin section. This will protect the structure against minor deformations and drying out.

Our recommendation is to use slab, not roll insulation. Among them: Rockwool and Paroc. For the installation of the upper membrane film, it is better to use professional construction films. Dörken or Tyvek AirGuard® films can be used; Tyvek® Soft is also suitable. The use of Dörken foil films will help reduce heat loss through your roof. When the installation of the insulation is completed, you can begin the installation of the roof and drainage system wooden house. In parallel with the installation of the roof, work can also be carried out to prepare for the installation of windows and external doors - installation of monitors on door and window openings... The installation of internal frame partitions is also going on in parallel.

The final part of the work of the contour finishing stage is priming and painting the walls of the house from the outside. Over the past 7 years, our company has been using materials for priming and painting houses, which are produced by the German company Remmers. In accordance with design solutions and the greater attractiveness of the facades of a wooden house - the outer walls and finishing of the roofing and cornices are painted in contrast different colors... When the house is painted and the scaffolding is dismantled, the stage of exterior finishing of the wooden house is almost complete. It remains for us to establish window blocks, entrance doors and mount decorative platbands on them.

Internal communications

Immediately after the completion of the contour finishing work, it becomes possible to install engineering networks and communications inside a wooden house and connect them to external networks. We recommend that you make necessary training to this stage. At a minimum, make a sketch of the arrangement of furniture and plumbing fixtures, if you want to approach the issue of engineering installation with all seriousness and think carefully about what and where will be located, a project will be needed. We work with each of the customers individually and try to adapt the engineering solution to the specifics of a particular project as much as possible. It all starts with the interior and furniture arrangement, the layout of bathrooms, kitchens and plumbing fixtures. All details are important, including the location of the sink, dishwasher and washing machines... It is important to determine how and in what way the water supply and sewage disposal will be carried out. What fuel the boiler will have to operate on. Is a boiler needed or enough flow heater... We will offer you an optimal engineering solution for heating and power supply for your home. Mutual understanding with the Customer and certainty in the goals and objectives for a particular house will help speed up the installation of engineering networks.

Fine finishing - finishing of a wooden house

The installation of communications has been completed - you can now start finishing. Selected materials and a very skillful team of interior fitters are essential to the successful implementation of your interior design plans. Before starting this stage, we recommend that you drive and see the already built houses with the finished finishing. This will give you a more complete idea of \u200b\u200bthe breadth of choice of building materials and allow you to determine your preferences. The choice of floor material, decorative board for ceilings is difficult to do from pictures in magazines and on the website - a deep immersion is required, and we provide this opportunity at our facilities. Another important component of this stage is the work itself. Installation and installation of various parts and finishing elements: window sills, stairs, decorative corners and planks - everything requires care and meticulous attitude. And one more important detail is to provide correct selection material. Using correct material and the skilful hands of builders-finishers are at the heart of the quality and durability of the interior of the house. Engineers and foremen of our company during a visit to the site will advise you on the application different materials for finishing work on your wooden house.

There is nothing better than a wooden house - its atmosphere, microclimate and comfort cannot be compared with any of the modern buildings... And self-erected, it becomes priceless! Thanks to a wide selection of building materials, both a professional builder and a novice amateur can easily cope with the task.

The choice of materials for a wooden house

It is quite difficult to choose among the huge variety of materials best option... They can be conditionally divided into three groups:

Logs - this includes materials with a circular cross section:

  • debarked log - practically untreated chopped tree trunks, including dead pine;
  • planed log - the top layer of wood is removed to give a more universal shape;
  • rounded log - factory processing allows you to give all logs the same shape and size;
  • glued log - several layers of glued wood are given a cylindrical shape.

Bars - treated logs with square, rectangular or D-shaped sections:

  • four-edged timber - the log will have a square or rectangular shape;
  • profiled timber - is distinguished by the presence of an already cut out thermal lock;
  • glued laminated timber - multi-layer wood, often from different breeds, with a square section.

The advantages of a debarked log are low cost and resistance to external factors... But because of different sizes and it is quite difficult to assemble a blockhouse.

Planed logs are much easier to use, but for a novice builder, a ready-made house kit made of rounded logs is more suitable.

The only drawback of this solution is that the price is much higher than ordinary planed logs. But given the ease of assembly, it is possible to save on wage labor and reduce construction time to a minimum.

The most expensive and progressive material is glued laminated timber. Thanks to the manufacturing technology, you can select the dimensions required for the wall thickness. So, for regions with cold and snowy winters, non-insulated wooden walls should be at least 50 cm, while the cross-section of an ordinary log often does not exceed 22 cm.

Kits are delivered to the construction site with already cut door and window openings, which allows you to build a house in just a day. The price of wood panels is higher than sandwich panels, but due to the high strength of the material, there is no need to build a frame.

The foundation for a wooden house

Given the low weight of the building (unless, of course, it is being built from half-meter logs), the decision on how to make the foundation depends only on the preferences of the owner. For example, for stable sandy and sandy loam soils, a shallow strip foundation is sufficient.

And on muddy ground, you can organize a budget foundation from car tires or screw the piles.

The process of laying the foundation is similar for all types:

  • marking the site with pegs and stretched twine with the obligatory precise alignment of the corners;
  • removing the fertile soil layer - it can be taken to a future flower garden or garden;
  • digging a trench for the foundation or pits for piles - the earth is thrown out into the perimeter if it is planned to fill up the basement;
  • assembly of formwork or installation of piles.

The formwork needs to be poured with concrete in one go, so it is better to order ready-made. We will have to attend to a convenient entrance, and pouring should be carried out immediately upon the arrival of the concrete truck. It is also important to pre-allocate a place for draining residues and flushing the concrete pump. You can prepare formwork in the form of road or sidewalk slabs - they will always come in handy on the farm.

The piles are covered with sand from the outside, cut to one level, and the trunk is filled with concrete. They are covered with heads or channels, where the lower harness of the house will then be attached.

Features of the construction of walls

Particular attention should be paid to the strapping ring. It is he who is subjected to maximum loads, is subject to decay and fails. Therefore, it is better to put a 5 cm thick wedding board made of larch under it.

Replacing this board is much easier than replacing the first crown.

Two layers of waterproofing are placed on the foundation. Both the wedding board and the binding ring in the corners are joined "in half a tree."

On each row of logs or beams, jute is spread to seal the joints and then the upper crown is laid.

It is important to remember that using wood of natural moisture, every two crowns should be connected with dowels. These are ordinary bars, often of a circular cross-section, and do not serve to fasten the bars together, but to keep the walls from deforming during shrinkage.

Gable roof device

For a wooden house gable roofthe best option... Depending on the length of the purlin, the rafters can be made hanging, reinforcing the entire structure with puffs, or layered, which are supported by racks.

Mauerlat is optional for wooden walls. You can fasten the rafters to the upper harness with a rigid or sliding connection. The latter option is necessary for houses with a shrinkage of more than 8%, otherwise, due to the bursting force, the walls of the house can not only deform, but also tear off the upper trim.

Novice builders with no experience in roof erection are best advised by professionals. Incorrect calculation of loads, including the amount of precipitation, can lead to depressurization of the structure.

The most best tree for building a house. Let's understand together with FORUMHOUSE users the peculiarities and properties of wooden wall materials and houses!

What material is the question that many novice developers ask themselves.

We have already written about the most popular ones.

Our today's article is more specific - about wall materials for wooden housing construction.

And FORUMHOUSE users will help us to understand them.

From our material you will learn:

  • On the features of wooden houses;
  • About which forest it is better to build a house from;
  • On the pros and cons of wooden houses;
  • What is the difference between a hand-cut log and a rounded log;
  • What are the types of timber.

Features of a wooden house

One of the main advantages of living in a wooden house is a favorable microclimate. It is easy to breathe in a house built of wood, it is cool in summer and warm in winter, it has a special, "home" atmosphere.

These features are due to the properties of the tree. Wooden walls have low thermal conductivity - like in a stone building, but the walls in a wooden house are thinner.

This helps to reduce construction costs. Since a wooden house weighs less than a stone one, there is no need to build a strong foundation for it. And with the appropriate wall thickness, the wooden house does not need to be additionally insulated.

Dimaelektro:

- In my opinion, for a house for permanent residence in Moscow and the area for walls, it is enough to take a profiled beam with a thickness of 190-195 mm. If we take an ordinary timber 150 mm thick, then additional insulation along the facade of 50 mm will be required. A rounded log should be at least 260 mm in diameter.

The greatest heat loss does not go through the walls, but through the poorly insulated floor, roof and improperly installed windows.

It is also necessary to build from a log, paying attention not to the diameter of the material itself, but to the width of the groove (the place where the logs are placed on top of each other). You can put a log house with logs with a diameter of over 300 mm, but with a groove only 5-7 cm wide.As a result, the actual thickness of the log wall will be the same 5-7 cm and, despite the spectacular appearance a house made of such logs will be very cold in winter. Even heating on main gas will not save.

Therefore, before starting the construction of a wooden house, it is important to understand why it is being built and how it will be operated: as a summer cottage, or as a place for permanent residence.

If wooden house it is used in the "summer cottage" mode, then upon arrival at the site it quickly warms up, and a well-heated wooden house made of thick logs, due to their heat capacity, retains heat for a long time (walls act as a heat accumulator).

Even in an unheated wooden house there is no feeling of dampness, because wood, due to its good vapor permeability, removes excess vapor and moisture outside. Studies have shown that the movement of steam and air in a log occurs more in the longitudinal than in the transverse direction.

Thermal energy from a wooden house goes out the other way around - across the log.

Because the steam, tending outward, moves in the perpendicular (along the annual rings) direction; these flows do not mix.

The steam does not reach the outer, cooled layers in wooden wall and is removed through the ends in the logs, and does not condense when a "dew point" occurs.

Therefore, a favorable microclimate is maintained in a wooden house.

When building a wooden house and choosing materials for its decoration, it is important to observe the principle: the degree of vapor permeability of materials should increase from the inside out.

Among the advantages of wooden houses are:

  • spectacular appearance;
  • finishing appearance of the walls: they do not need additional external and internal finishing, except for painting.

Despite all the advantages, the tree is like a wall construction material, is not devoid of a number of disadvantages.

A wooden cottage takes a long time to sit down, so you cannot immediately start decorating it - insert windows, doors, etc. The house must "stand" under a temporary roof. On average, this process takes about a year. Shrinkage of walls: a change in their height depending on the degree of moisture saturation source material can be from 3 to 12%. Therefore, even at the project stage, it is important to lay this coefficient in the height of the flows.

The timber can start to rot, it can be driven or twisted by a "helicopter", it is susceptible to cracking and the effects of pests. Also, the tree needs comprehensive protection from the destructive effects of water and sun rays... To combat these phenomena, the tree is treated with fire-bioprotective agents, painted and impregnated with special compounds.

The best tree for log house

Our clients can choose house designs from two types of materials:

rounded logs... Solid barrels are used in its production. In the process of cylindering, perfectly flat logs of the same diameter are obtained. Houses collected from them do not require exterior decoration, which reduces the cost of construction;

timber... Many of our clients prefer this material, as it gives wider possibilities in the design of the facade and interior decoration... In our projects, we use regular, profiled and glued beams. The first option is the cheapest: it comes without any additional processing. Profiled and glued beams undergo chamber drying, which reduces box shrinkage.

Our clients are often interested in which of the materials is better: more economical, warmer, more durable. We are confident that any wooden house, during the installation of which the technologies were strictly observed, will serve the entire estimated period. The WoodHouse company guarantees high quality performance regardless of the type of material.
