It is always pleasant to make something beautiful and useful out of a junk thing. A good example of such creativity is beautiful flower beds from tires. It is not difficult to build them, and the benefits from them are enormous. But the fantasy of the summer cottages is not limited to this either. From old wheels, which are often just lying on the road and polluting the environment, they make outdoor furniture, sculptures for the garden and even rebuild small children's towns.

Such a simple and unsightly material at first glance, like old car tires, in fact, as if specially created so that every summer resident could feel like a real artist and decorate his site with real designer flower beds and original author's sculptures. You can cut from tires, without exaggeration, anything. Such crafts are on a par with those made from plastic bottles all year round will delight the eyes of the owners and guests of the cottage, and most importantly, they will not require special financial investments.

It is also nice that the use of the idea of making crafts with your own hands from tires is twofold: on the one hand, we recycle a wheel that polluted the environment, and on the other, we get an original one. garden decoration or a flower bed.

Crafts from rubber, used tires, amaze with the variety and how rich the imagination of their authors. The most common ones are:

In the photo - flower beds made of tires

A small flower bed. The easiest way to make flower beds from tires is to leave the tire as it is, just paint it brightly and fill it with earth. Nothing complicated. Even a weak woman or child can cope with this, and such a flower garden will look great.

This photo shows cups made from old wheels.

Flower beds from old tires in the form of various objects. Making them harder. The tire is cut into two unequal parts and the larger one is turned inside out. It is worth noting that the edges of the tires can be made various shapes, it's all about imagination and sleight of hand. In this technique, flower beds are made in the form of a mug, flower, vase. The huge rubber tire cup looks very funny. And some craftsmen, thus, build a whole tea set on their site.

Turtle from old wheels

Flowerbeds and sculptures in the form of animals and fairy-tale characters. A funny tire frog, a kind gnome, a mysterious unicorn, beautiful swans, a three-headed dragon, a turtle, a luxurious carriage, a huge phone - it's easier to list what they don't make of this available material... The only condition is to think over the composition from the very beginning so that there are no unpleasant surprises later.

In the photo - multi-tiered flower beds or berries

Multi-tiered flowerbeds of several tires. The simplest in execution is three-tier, but the number of parts may be more. Several tires of the same or different sizes are placed on top of each other or in a checkerboard pattern. A well made of tires looks spectacular, stylized as a real one and equipped with all its inherent attributes: a chain, a shaft with a visor, a bucket. Such a flower garden can also be used as a vertical bed for growing berries and vegetables.

Beds of strawberry tires

A flower bed for strawberries from tires will take up a minimum of space and give a rich harvest. It is perfect for growing seedlings, herbs, peppers. From such a flower bed, you can make a fence for a raspberry or currant bush, or make several of them and delimit the garden with them into cultural zones. It is worth mentioning that a well made of tires is often made not only decorative, but they mask a drainage pit or septic tank.

Experienced craftsmen and the craftswomen know many secrets that help them create garden sculptures and do-it-yourself tire beds. They understand best of all how to make unique and inimitable author's crafts out of old rubbish that no one needs. Here are just a few of these secrets:

 • Imported tires are best suited for work, since the rubber on them is softer and it is easy to cut. But in the absence of them, domestic products will also fit. In principle, they are quite easy to process and allow you to give crafts from them different shape.
 • Tires intended for use on winter roads are more pliable, easier to cut and easier to handle than those used in summer.
 • The longer the tire has been used and the more it is worn out, the thinner, softer and the easier it will be to work with it: cut and twist.
 • Before you start creating crafts, the material must be prepared: thoroughly cleaned of dirt, and degreased before painting.
 • Use a sharp knife with a thin butt to cut car tires. To check how well it is sharpened, you can run the blade along the notebook sheet, holding it in weight. If the knife does not cut or tear the paper, it is not sharp enough.
 • Cut a car tire for garden crafts it is more convenient if you periodically lubricate the knife with machine oil. This will make it easier to fit into the rubber. Used oil will do.
 • When you need to cut out some curly elements, markings are applied to the bus. It will help you achieve a more accurate and accurate result. It is most convenient to apply it with ordinary white chalk, as a last resort, with a marker.
 • The durability of the craft depends on what paint to paint the rubber with. For old wheel tire fit like car paints, and any paints for street work.
 • It is recommended to prime the surface of the tire before painting it. A primer with the addition of a small amount of PVA will increase the strength of the coating and reduce paint consumption.
 • Paints in aerosol cans accelerate the coloring process up to 20-30 minutes, and the painted layer itself is made more uniform.
 • Decorative finishing can be made from scrap materials. For example, glue the surface with pebbles, bottle shards, or lay out pictures of colored plastic bottle caps.

It is better to paint a flower bed from a tire not only from the outside, but also from the inside. This will make them look more aesthetically pleasing and the black rubber will not show through from the inside.

Of course, each master has his own secrets, and it is impossible to list them all. And when you take up this fascinating business - tire sculpture, they will certainly appear with you.

Several workshops on making crafts from old tires

As mentioned above, tire crafts are diverse. Their appearance and the purpose is limited only by the imagination of the master. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the basic models. After familiarizing yourself with them, you will learn how to make a flower bed out of tires with your own hands and you will be able to create original, unlike other and useful garden accessories yourself.

Simple flower bed

A small flower bed, made like a chamomile from one tire, is the simplest basic model. You can make several such flower beds, arrange them hardly and decorate the approach to the house. Sometimes they are placed on paved or tiled areas.

We need:

 1. One old tire.
 2. A sharp knife.
 3. Marker or chalk.

Mark the place of the cut with a marker. We will cut the tire along them, from thickening to thickening.

Before cutting the tires, make sure there are no metal cords in them that could ruin the knife. They are usually inserted into truck tires.

We cut the tire around the entire circumference with straight zigzag petals of any shape of your choice (triangular, oval, semicircular).

We turn over the tire and work with its reverse side. Leading the knife along the thickening, cut a circle from the back of the tire.

Then, along the entire circumference inside the tire, approximately every 20-25 cm, we make transverse cuts from the cut edge to the bend (end of the tread).

After that, the tire must be turned out. The flower bed is ready. It remains only to paint it, giving it a more attractive look, fill it with earth and plant plants.

Garden flowerpot from an old wheel

From an old wheel, you can make a beautiful garden vase in a short time.
Such flowerpots look better in a pair in front of the house, on opposite sides of the door or porch. Consider step by step a master class on their manufacture.

We need:

 1. Tire with disc.
 2. A sharp knife.
 3. Chalk or marker.

With chalk or a marker, mark a zigzag line along the entire front circumference of the tire, along which we will begin to cut. Thanks to her, the flowerpot will look like a large flower with many petals.

We cut the tire along the marked line with a sharp knife. To facilitate the process, the knife is periodically dipped in machine oil (used oil is also suitable).

After the wheel is cut, we check if the cut sections are not completely left, and proceed to turning it inside out. It is better to do this together with an assistant, slowly, in parts.

After we managed to turn out the tire for the future flower bed, it turned out that there is a camera in the wheel. It must be cut and discarded.

The pot is ready. His bowl came from the main part of the wheel. It is not necessary to remove the disc from the tire. It serves as an elevation and stand for the vase, and the remains of the tire at its base as an additional support.

We just have to clean, degrease and decide how beautifully to paint our new garden vase. When you pour the earth into the bowl, do not forget to put a gasket on its bottom so that the earth does not spill out and make several holes in it to drain the water.

Old tire swan

The most popular tire garden sculptures are swans. They are usually placed near an artificial pond, which gives the site a stunning look. You can plant grass in the bird itself, then you get the impression that it looks out from behind the vegetation. Detailed step-by-step instruction with photo.

We need:

 1. A sharp knife.
 2. An electric drill for making holes for entering the rubber of a knife.
 3. Grinder or file.
 4. Electric jigsaw.
 5. Chalk or marker (marker is better).
 6. Wire 5-6 mm in diameter (hard, to shape the neck of a "swan").
 7. Plastic clamps (to shape the head).
 8. Roulette.
 9. Gloves.

According to the scheme, we mark on the tire surface the contours of the future swan according to the following video, in which the author uses dimensions in inches, calling them in the international measurement system - inch. Inch (1 inch) = 2.54 cm.

How beautiful and neat our sculpture will turn out depends on the accuracy of the marking.

Let's start cutting. At the initial section, we drill 3-4 holes at a distance of 3-5 cm with a drill and cut the tire between them with a knife. Insert a jigsaw into the resulting cut and begin to cut the swan.

After all the contours have been cut out, turn the tire out. We try to do this carefully, because careless movements in the thinnest places can tear it.

To make the bird's figure look more neat, smooth all the sections along the contour with a grinder.

To shape the swan's neck, insert a wire into it. To do this, drill holes in the center of the neck and to the end of the body every 20 cm. We put the wire and fix it in the holes with soft staples.

We shape the head. We make longitudinal cuts and holes, as shown in the photo and using the same wire or plastic clamps we give the swan's head a shape.

Our tire swan is ready. It remains to paint it and make a stand.

The swan can be painted in white color or not at all, leaving it black. Make the beak red. Swans look very nice in a pair: black and white.

Without stand soft rubber swans will not stand. As it, you can simply take any tire and paint it, for example, blue. Thus, it will symbolize the pond. And you can not be lazy and make it curly.

We make a curly stand in the same way. We mark on the tire the contour along which we will cut, cut the tire along it, turn it out and paint.

Using a similar technique, you can make any figures from tires: animals, birds, fairy-tale creatures.

But, if you do not want to mess with complex markings and cutting, you can do it even easier. For example, collect a cute frog from whole tires.

In the photo - a flower bed in the form of a frog

A tire frog is very simple. From one or more tires, the body and head are assembled, from small wheels, for example from a baby carriage, eyes, and from rubber scraps of feet.

Flower bed chamomile

A decoration that is easier to do than this flower bed is hard to come up with. Despite the fact that it will need several car tires, it can be assembled in just 15-20 minutes, it looks nice, neat and will never be superfluous.

We need:

 1. Three old tires of the same size.
 2. Sharp knife or grinder.

All tires, having previously indicated the places of the cuts, are cut in half. Find out if the rubber contains metal cords before cutting. The knife will not take them, so use a grinder.

To give the future flower bed aesthetics, you can paint the tires. It is better to do this in advance, immediately after cutting.

The photo below presents extraordinary ideas for crafts from tires.

Idea number 1. Making a flower bed from tires

The easiest scheme is to take an unnecessary tire, fill it with soil and plant the plants. Of course, this will not be a unique decorative element of garden design.

To fix everything, we take bright paints (acrylic or oil based) and paint the tires. Next, we put them on top of each other, resulting in a multi-tiered flower bed.

An original solution would be a vertically arranged flower bed folded in the shape of a pyramid. We fall asleep inside the soil and plant curly flowers - petunias or strawberries. You can put a single plant pot on top.

You can also make a suspended flower bed from tires. This will require steel chain - it will need to be attached to the tire and the entire structure suspended from a tree.

In order to prevent the soil from waking up, cover the bottom of the tire with a thick sheet of rubber or other suitable material.

An unusual solution would be to make flower beds in the form of a teapot and cups. All you need is a few tires and trims of metal tape and pipes.

Idea number 2. Figures from tires

Another type of garden tire crafts are a variety of unusual and intricate tire figures. They will liven up your garden and improve the mood of all household members.

The figure of a swan is very popular. To make it, you need a tire without a metal cord. It must first be marked.

For cutting, we will use a well-sharpened knife. Fix the swan's neck with a metal rod. At the final stage, we will cover the resulting product with white or black paint (depending on which swan you want - white or black).

You just need to create a funny horse, zebra or giraffe. Such figures will require installation in the ground. wooden beams medium size with a tire.

Crafts should be painted in colors corresponding to a particular representative of the fauna.

Old tires and basins can be easily turned into a frog or a cute turtle. A bit of imagination will help make interesting and unusual installations.

Note!

Idea number 3. Country furniture

In the garden, pieces of furniture made of tires will look great.

They can be done in different styles and the use of various upholstery materials, ranging from leather and textiles to vines and wire.

The tires will make a comfortable chair in which it will be wonderful to relax in the bosom of nature. To do this, we take the tires, wrap them with intertwined straps and ribbons. It won't take long, and the result will be entertaining.

Furniture for summer cottages can be made from tires of different sizes of medium and low hardness.

From tires are obtained lovely tables, ottomans, armchairs, chandeliers, fountains and washbasins.

Note!

Idea number 4. Tire swing

A swing is an integral part of any playground. Tire swings are safer than wood or metal swings. They are quite simple to make.

You will need:

 • strong horizontal branch;
 • sharp knife and jigsaw;
 • chain or strong rope;
 • tire.

We tie the end of the rope into a loop, the knots must be strong and reliable. We throw the loop over the branch, pass the rest of the rope through it and tighten. We put the tires perpendicular to the ground.

We pass a rope through them and fasten them at a height of approximately 0.9 m from the earth's surface. The swing is ready!

Idea number 5. Tire track

Tracks created from unnecessary tires, or rather from their tread part, look unusual and original.

We bring to your attention a selection of photos of various crafts from tires.

Note!

Tires are a versatile material for creating a wide variety of things with your own hands.

Numerous workshops on tire crafts can be easily found on the Internet. Therefore, if you have unnecessary old car tires lying around, feel free to use them, creating memorable elements of garden decor.

Photo of crafts from tires

Crafts made from tires flaunt on almost every personal plot, striking people with their originality and testifying to the rich imagination of the owners. Often, summer residents-motorists accumulate a considerable number of old tires that have become unusable. But, if they are no longer useful for a car, they can be given a second life by making wonderful little things out of them for a summer residence.

If you have old tires, do not throw them away. They will perfectly decorate your summer cottage at minimal cost.

Probably, there is no such person who would not want to prove himself in creativity, in the manufacture of beautiful, original things from waste material. It is always nice to do something for your estate that your neighbors don't have, to test your skills and craftsmanship. Such a pastime is especially pleasant for zealous owners because for the manufacture of any crafts from tires, almost all materials will be waste, unsuitable for use for their main purpose. This means that the work will not require large cash costs.

To make crafts from car tires, you need tools such as a knife and a jigsaw. With their help, it will be possible to give the desired shape to thick rubber. Stock up on chalk to help you line up. It will be useful to use paints, possibly coloring sprays. Stock up on imagination and start making.

Beds and flower beds from tires

Most gardeners start making garden decor elements by constructing flower beds from old tires for flowering plants or garden beds. No special work is required here. It is enough to paint a few tires in bright colors and arrange them beautifully on the site, turning them into an original element of landscape design.

Multiple tires can be painted in different colors and make a pyramid out of them.

Here you can play with colors or shapes of products. The simplest drawing - white polka dots on a red background - will look elegant, and several such flower beds installed around the perimeter of the site can give it a cheerful appearance and charge people contemplating such a picture with a good mood. You can paint several tires in different colors and make a geometric composition of them, a pyramid.

Using a few tools, it's easy to make a large flower-shaped pot out of an old tire. Lay the old wheel on the ground without removing it from the disc, and using a grinder or knife, cut the tire to the side of the tread around the entire perimeter. This should be done with both sides.

Before you start cutting, draw an outline on the rubber, along which you will cut. This will make your work easier and allow you to make the cuts smoother. You can make slots on one of the sides, which are made in the direction from the inside and to the outer edge of the tire. Their length is about 10-15 cm.

After that, the tire is turned inside out on both sides. You will get something like a glass. Shells and pebbles can be glued to its sides, painted with paint or decorated in another way. If you cut out semicircles along the edge with a knife, after turning out the petals of a giant flower are obtained.

When you find the product ready, place it or them on the ground in the order in which you intended. Then fill with earth and plant whatever your heart desires.

Children's corner made of old tires

A children's corner in the country, made of old tires, will delight and amuse kids. Everyone is familiar with a track of several wheels, placed one after another and dug in half into the ground. Mandatory elements for a playground are a sandbox and a swing. They are made quite simply and with minimal cost time and materials.

You will need a very large tire for the sandbox. If you don't have your own tires, contact the nearest auto repair shop - most often they have big problems with the disposal of such waste and willingly distribute the rest of the repair to everyone.

To make a sandbox, you will need a piece of waterproof fabric, foam rubber, or a so-called aquapalk. It is most convenient to use it: it is simply cut lengthwise into 2 parts, then the edges of the tire are pasted over with the resulting details.

Make a lid out of plywood to protect the sandbox from the rain, and a bottom. The part for the bottom is placed inside, then sand is poured on top.

The swing can be made from one tire. The main thing is to choose a good, reliable cable or even a chain on which it will be suspended. Most often, they try to hang such a swing on a thick branch of a large tree. Pieces of cable are tied with one end over the edge of the tire, preferably at 3 points. The other ends are tightly tied together and thrown over the tree branch.

An old but still rigid tire cut in half can be used to make a wonderful rocker. A long seat-board is attached horizontally to half the circle, and to it is a back for support and a handle for holding. If you strengthen a horse head cut out of plywood in the front part, you get a rocking horse.

Cute flowerbed cup

A flowerbed made in the form of a tea cup will look very original.

A flowerbed made in the form of a tea cup will turn out to be original. It will need 2 tires of different diameters - a larger one is installed on the smaller one, then the composition is painted. The ornament can be anything. Basic requirement: it should be easy for you to draw. Most often, the traditional red or blue cups with white polka dots are chosen.

To get a beautiful cup, the tire does not have to be turned out, as for most crafts. You just need to cut off the side parts, otherwise they will interfere with the growth of flowers planted in flower beds. To achieve a greater resemblance to a cup, a saucer is made - for it you need a tire, somewhat larger in diameter than the flower bed. Make a handle from the remnants of rubber: it is attached with a wire, passing it through the side of the mug.

How to make fairy tale characters out of tires?

From old car tires, you can make amazingly beautiful characters of fairy tales, wild animals and birds. A few rubber circles and a piece of plywood will make a good-natured bear cub, which will be a good watchman for your summer cottage (Fig. 1).

Figure 1. A cute bear cub will come out of the rubber circles and a piece of plywood, which will be a good watchman for the dacha.

To make a teddy bear, you will need 2 tires: one larger, the other smaller. From the larger one, we will make the body of a bear cub. The smaller one will become the head. Circles must be cut out of plywood - one of them will become a bear's face. On it you will need to draw eyes, a nose and a smiling mouth. Attach another circle to the lower, large splint and draw the bear's belly and chest. Color all circles brown.

Cut the ears out of the plywood with a jigsaw and attach them to the head. You will need 2 more tires to make the hind legs, but you can do without them. If you decide to make the hind legs, paint the 2 rubber circles in the appropriate color. Wait for the paint to dry on all parts and start assembling.

Place circles on the ground that act as hind legs and fill them with earth or gravel. This will provide the composition with greater stability. Set a large circle-body on top and fasten it on the lower ones with a wire. Place your head on top. Pieces of rubber can be used to make the front legs to give the look more authenticity. Give the bear a staff in one paw and a keg of honey in the other.

Swans and parrots

Figure 2. Scheme for cutting the future swan from tires.

Birds made from tires look interesting. If you don't mind tinkering with cutting rubber circles, you can make wonderful swans. First, you need to develop a future model, make a small sketch and select a scheme for cutting (Fig. 2). Then, according to the scheme, a contour is drawn on the surface of the tire and cut along it with a knife.

The tire is cut lengthwise into 3 parts - a swan head and neck will be obtained from the central one. The side pieces fold outward on both sides - these are the wings. By turning them inside out, you get the visual effect of swan wings lying on the ground. To bend the neck like a real swan, find a strip of tin. It must be bent in the desired shape and the rubber neck of the bird must be attached to it with self-tapping screws.

The swan, installed in place, is put in order: the elements are straightened and fixed. After that, you need to paint the figure black or white. Most often, such products are used for the garden. When using imagination, wonderful miniature beds are obtained, located between the wings of a swan.

Having slightly modified the pattern, we get the basis for making a parrot (Fig. 3). It is much easier to make it than a swan. Such funny figures can be made in different forms and hung on the trees of the estate. They can be used not only as fun decorative elements, but also as containers for flowering plants.

Figure 3. This craft can be used not only as a decorative element, but also as a container for flowering plants.

First, cut the tire as shown in the figure (fig. 4). It is better to choose one where there is no metal cord: it is easier to cut. Turn the tire inside out and cut the beak out of the trim. To insert it, cut the shorter side in half and insert the beak into this slot. We will make a tail from the long side.

When the beak is in place, clamp the cut halves with clamps. Drill a hole through all the layers and pull the halves together using a bolt, nut and washers. Use paint to turn the protruding head of the bolt and nut into eyes. Mark the tail with chalk and cut it out. After that, you need to do the coloring.

When the paint dries, hang the parrot on a tree or other comfortable spot... Fill the back cavity with fertile soil and plant flowers there. Everything is ready. Your crafts will certainly become the envy of your neighbors, and some will want to have such a miracle on their site.

Tire car

Wonderful wheel crafts are usually the pride and joy of children.

Figure 4. To make a parrot, you first need to cut the tire.

If you've already built a sandbox for them, and a swing, and a few rocking chairs, why not add a car or a motorcycle to the playground? The difference between their device is small. For a motorcycle you will need 3 wheels, for a car - 4. You will need a piece of plywood, an old handlebar and an unusable headlight.

To build the product, first dig the wheels into the ground. Place the seat between the rear ones. It is made from an unusable chair or just put another tire and cover it with plywood and a piece of foam rubber. One wheel is installed in front - it will turn out to be a motorcycle, or two - it will be a car. Reinforce the headlights on the front wheels. If there is no rudder, it can be made of wire and wrapped in rubber. Other accessories can be used at the discretion of the manufacturers.

Finally, the homemade vehicle must be painted in a suitable color and wait until the paint is completely dry. After that, you can start the game.

Home garden decor

There are many ideas for decorating a backyard. First of all, manufacturers are attracted by the fact that there are no limits for imagination and you can put into business a lot of things that can never serve in accordance with their original purpose.

For example, old shoes and kitchen utensils make interesting original containers for flowers. They create fences, fences from bottles, garden paths, greenhouses and even small buildings. Still, the use of tires as the main material for the manufacture of decorative elements is recognized as more popular.

Country crafts endlessly amaze with their diversity. Place several pieces in a row on the edge, cut the first of them at an angle, paint everything in green color - you get a cute dragon. You don't have to wait for winter to make a snowman. It is enough to take 3 tires different sizes, stack them on top of each other and paint white. And what a wonderful garden furniture will come out of obsolete tires!

The possibilities for experimentation are endless. Try it, fantasize, and very soon your personal plot will turn into the envy of all your friends and acquaintances.
