"TechnoNIKOL No. 31" is an aqueous emulsion of petroleum bitumen, technological additives, modified artificial rubber, and mineral fillers.
The material has high adhesion to any surfaces, resistant to moisture, elastic and heat resistant. Since the composition is made on the basis of water, it does not contain mineral solvents. In this regard, such mastic can be used for indoor waterproofing works - balconies, bathrooms, pools, basements and others.

A similar composition is intended for external waterproofing of various building structures, including those buried in the ground, except for those that will be exposed to a thermal effect exceeding 70 degrees during operation.
Work on applying this composition is carried out at an air temperature of at least +10 degrees, on a surface that has been previously cleaned and primed with a bituminous primer.
MGH-G mastic is quite thick, and is often applied with a spatula. If it is planned to work with a brush or roller, then the mixture must be diluted with an organic solvent, the amount of which should not exceed 25 ÷ 50% of the mastic volume. As a solvent, you can use petroleum solvent, white spirit, turpentine, xylene and similar organic compounds.

MGH-K "Grida" is a bitumen-rubber composition, ready for use, which consists of crushed crumb rubber, petroleum bitumen, resin acids, synthetic thermoplastic polymer and organic solvents. The ingredients that make up the mastic in the complex give it elasticity, which is not lost at temperatures from - 35 to + 130 degrees.
Waterproofing material is used for application to the roofing surface, foundations, and other parts of the outer parts of the building. Due to its balanced consistency, the mastic penetrates well and covers various surface defects, such as chips, cracks and crevices.
If the damage is wide, then the mastic is used in combination with a reinforcing fiberglass mesh.

The mastic is applied with a spatula, brush or roller, but in the latter applications it must be diluted. The application of this waterproofing composition is carried out according to the same principle as MGH-K "Grida".
If you have to work at low temperatures, then the mastic needs to be slightly heated in a steam bath to a temperature of 30 ÷ 50 degrees.

"MEBIS" is a water-based bitumen-polymer mastic used cold for waterproofing works.
It is used to protect the roof, as well as other building structures, including those buried in the ground.
This waterproofing composition does not contain organic solvents, so it can be safely used not only for external, but also for internal work. Mastic is suitable for protecting not only concrete and metal, but also materials such as drywall, brick, wood and plaster.

Stages of waterproofing with bituminous mastic

Stage 1

If the surface to be treated has many holes, chips and cracks, it must be rubbed with a concrete solution (thoroughly mixed). If you do not prepare, the bituminous layer may burst and then additional application of mastic will be required, and this will significantly increase its consumption.

If the base to be processed has sharp scallops, then they must be removed with a grinder with a grinding nozzle. The sharp corners of the base should also be processed (cut and rounded).

The entire surface of the base must be free of cracks, recesses and protrusions, sharp corners must be rounded. With the help of simple preparatory work you can reduce material consumption by about one and a half times!

Having made the surface smooth, the base should be cleaned of dirt. Then dry the entire surface to be treated with a building hair dryer. This will protect the mastic from swelling and cracking.


A simple test can be performed to ensure that the substrate has dried sufficiently. Take a plastic film and put it on the foundation for a day. If the next day moisture does not appear on it, then you can start working, and if moisture appears on the film, then the foundation needs to be dried.

Stage 2

To reduce the consumption of bituminous mastic, and improve the adhesion of the material to the surface, primer treatment with a primer is required. The primer must be selected according to the mastic you have chosen.

The primer is applied evenly over the entire base and in one layer. A roller can be used to apply the primer with primer. After completing the application of the preparatory layer, it needs to dry (from two to five hours).

Layers of mastic should be continuous and without breaks. Bituminous waterproofing is applied with a roller or brush from the bottom up. Subsequent layers of waterproofing are applied after the previous ones have completely dried.

Do not forget about removing debris and dirt. Then it is necessary to reduce the humidity of the treated surface. For this, a building hair dryer is used. If the surface is not sufficiently well dried, then the applied mastic may swell or completely peel off.

Important! To be completely sure of sufficient drying of the base, you can conduct a small test. For a day, cover part of the base with a film. If at the end of this time no condensation forms on it, then the foundation is well dried. You can start processing it.

Primer treatment

To reduce the consumption of mastic and improve the quality of its connection with the surface, it is necessary to prime the entire base. Priming with a primer is carried out taking into account the type of the selected mastic.

The primer is applied with a roller (brush) over the surface of the entire base. When smearing the foundation with it, it will be possible to apply only 1 layer. After completing the application, it is necessary to leave the primer to dry for several hours.

The application of its second layer is possible only at the points of attachment to the base of the building structure.

The process of applying mastic

The treatment of the foundation with bituminous mastic begins from its surface, where the magnitude of the water pressure is greatest (from its outer side). After opening the can, the material is thoroughly mixed. For its application, depending on the consistency, a spatula, roller, brush is used.

When applying it, it is important to remember that the layers must have the same thickness, be continuous, not have gaps, and the smearing itself is done from top to bottom. The next application should be carried out after the previous one has dried.

The thickness of the coating on average ranges from 2mm to 4mm. This value is affected by the depth of the foundation. If it is located at a depth of up to 2 meters, then the layer of applied material is 2 mm. If the depth of occurrence exceeds this value, then the thickness of the coating increases to 4 mm.

Determining the readiness of the surface for applying the next layer of coating is easy. It is enough to touch the first layer. If there is no sticking to the fingers, then you can safely apply the next layer. To extend the life of the mastic, after the completion of the application of the last layer, soft soil is poured onto it.
