Modern and comfortable material - drywall is used so often that it is rare in any apartment that you will not find elements with its use. As a rule, it is used for finishing walls and ceilings, but the properties of the material make it possible not only to level the surfaces.

Of course, lovers of minimal frills in repair will use it simply as finishing materialto hide the mistakes of the home builders. But with the skillful use of fantasy and modern options design, you can make original walls, and even curvilinear plasterboard ceilings.

Many will be surprised - why make things that are already skewed more crooked? However, this is not entirely true, as flaws in construction and intentional design are completely different things.

Features of drywall

Sheet building materials have not just won the market and won the trust of consumers. The thing is that drywall is so easy to process and inexpensive in price that it can be used for various renovation works not only a pleasure, but also a real benefit.

Note!
Gypsum with various additives, depending on the purpose, framed on both sides with especially strong cardboard, is environmentally friendly and very durable.
Cardboard has a reinforcing effect, holding plaster together and preventing it from crumbling. The material is produced in different options, its qualities depend on the destination.

GKL types

  1. Ceiling... This is the thinnest material designed specifically for leveling and mounting the top of the room.
    If you have conceived a plasterboard ceiling - a wave, then this variety is just worth buying. The fact is that the ceilings should not be heavier. Therefore, the lightest and thinnest material in this case is just right.
  2. Stenovoi... These are thicker sheets for finishing and leveling walls. The pliability of the material makes it possible to make rounded shapes. This type will help you to design niches, arches, the most intricate designs.
  3. Moisture resistant... Thanks to special, antifungal additives, gypsum acquires properties that repel moisture. This is especially important when decorating a bathroom, bathhouse, swimming pool and other rooms with high humidity.
  4. Fire retardant... In places with an increased risk of fire, it is recommended to use drywall impregnated with a fire-fighting compound. It will not light up and will be as safe as possible in unexpected situations.

Material flexibility

Properties drywall sheets are such that they allow you to make not only straight lines in the plane of the form. When wet, the material is able to bend, which makes it possible to make even a plasterboard wave ceiling, an original design, unusual in any form.

Moreover, after drying, it will retain the shape given to it. The cardboard framing the core will prevent the material from crumbling. Therefore, ceilings created in this way will last a very long time without the need for restoration. How to make such an original ceiling?

Installation process

First, you need to make calculations and assemble the coverage frame.

Preliminary work

  1. It is necessary to make a preliminary... The fact is that a wavy ceiling requires at least two levels. It is very convenient to make marks by drawing a circle of the required diameter on the first level.
    A suspension can serve as the middle, and a string with a pencil attached to it can serve as a kind of compass. Note that it is easier to mark out on the floor when the sheets have not yet been lifted to the ceiling.
  2. Note that in apartments with low ceilings, the so-called "Khrushchevs", structures with elements of more than two levels should not be created.
    Since each level takes an average of 10-15 cm, the ceiling can go down to the level of the head, and few people will like it. Therefore, take measurements with the calculation of the data in your apartment.
  3. More material will be required on the undulating surface of the ceiling, so after measuring the ceiling area, add about half of the result to the result.
    To make a curved plasterboard ceiling, you will need additional suspensions. They are needed to attach additional ones.
  4. After calculations and marking along the perimeter of the walls, attach the main, bearing profile... The first level of the ceiling will be attached to it. This is done using self-tapping screws, checking the flatness of the plane in the course of work using a level.

Assembling the ceiling

  1. When installing the first level, lighting devices must be installed... If you forget to make the liner and installation, then you will have to disassemble the entire structure made.
  2. The height differences of waves or patterns should be from 1.2 cm to 15 cm, otherwise you risk having a fragile attachment to the frame. You should not get carried away with a sharp drop in levels, because the desired effect can be obtained even with a minimum gap.
  3. When you make a curved plasterboard ceiling, be sure to pay attention to the places where the waves are attached. Special accents should be made on them, therefore, the waves are screwed onto the frame especially carefully.
  4. It is most convenient to bend sheets on the floor, wetting them with water on one side... You can use a maklavitsa brush to cut the drywall for better moisture absorption. This method is well suited for producing large enough waves in ceiling construction.
  5. If you have small drops, or a slight wave of drywall on the ceiling, wetting sheets of material on one side, it is advisable to walk over them with a needle roller. This will pierce the cardboard and the plaster will absorb moisture evenly. Now the material can be bent and then wait for the wave to lock.
  6. It should be especially noted that for

A curly ceiling will help to diversify the interior and give the room individuality. To form the structure, tension canvases and suspension systems made of metal profiles and sheets of plasterboard are used. You can combine options to achieve the most complex design challenges. We will understand the features of the arrangement of the system and the possibility of constructing ceiling structures with our own hands.

Shaped ceilings are multilevel structures, complemented by elements of complex shapes: waves, circles, abstractions or geometric shapes. Tensioning systems with multi-color or multi-textured fabrics belong to the same type.

Features and advantages of ceilings:

  1. Aesthetic look. Thanks to the variety of shapes, sizes, textures, you can create beautiful patterns on the ceiling.
  2. Visual expansion, zoning of space. The right lighting color scheme helps to fill the room with air, to highlight a particular area. The decor option must be chosen carefully: multi-level structures in rooms with low ceilings "compress" the space.
  3. The ability to hide under suspension system unevenness of the base, engineering Communication, electrical wiring system, heaters, insulating materials.
  4. Strength, durability. Subject to the installation rules, the structure will serve for a long time. And if the ceiling becomes obsolete morally, the GKL sheets are simply dismantled, which means that you can renovate the interior without any problems.
  5. Stretch canvases and drywall with high moisture resistant properties will protect against leaks from above.
  6. Sound insulation, thermal insulation of premises when arranging suspended, curly-type tension structures is significantly increased.

There are also disadvantages:

  • the complexity of installation;
  • increased material costs;
  • reducing the height of the room.

Advice! Before equipping curly plasterboard ceilings, you need to check the strength basic design... Metal profiles and gypsum boards have a mass that loose walls and ceilings, especially in old houses, simply cannot withstand.

Options for curly plasterboard ceilings

Despite the variety of forms, the following options are popular:

  1. Geometric figures. These can be rectangles, squares, circles. For example, the general plane of the ceiling is tightened around the perimeter (rectangle), and a circle or oval is formed in the center. You can divide the entire surface into squares, highlighting individual areas with highlight.
  2. Oval or semicircle. These are forms for living rooms, bedrooms. The bed area is highlighted in a semicircle, and an illuminated oval will emphasize the central part of the living room.
  3. Curvilinear shapes, waves are performed in a variety of ways. For example, waves as framing the entire perimeter or dividing zones, zigzags with level drops in the nursery - a visual difference between the working and play area And so on.
  4. Curly ceilings in the form of flowers, plants or intricate patterns. This is a decorative technique that emphasizes the stylistic solution of the room. Such texture of the ceiling requires a lot of skill, it is necessarily emphasized by lighting and different color solutions.

Advice! For finishing decoration ceiling surface from gypsum board, wallpaper, fabrics, paints are used. Lighting devices are selected taking into account the characteristics of the coating: without heating the surface.

Planning a plasterboard ceiling

Before making a curly plasterboard ceiling, you need to mark the base and prepare it for the installation process. First, the strength of the base base is assessed: remove pieces of plaster, paint, whitewash and wallpaper, and clean the surface to a dense layer. It is better to close up the overlap slots, if necessary, treat the surface with biological protection compounds - this will prevent the development of mold.

Now work on drawing up a plan and markup:

  1. Measure the length of each room with a tape measure, transfer the data to the drawing. This is necessary to calculate the volume of materials purchased.
  2. Divide the entire plane of the ceiling into cells 60x60 cm. These will be the attachment points of the ceiling profile.
  3. Draw the borders of the curved ceiling levels with separate lines. You need to use reference points: the center of the plane (room), one of the corners - from these points it is more convenient to count all the lengths, mark the installation areas of the elements.
  4. Along the lines of the frame with a step of 20-40 cm, mark the points of the fasteners of the suspensions. The step should be small, since curly ceilings are heavier than conventional suspended structures.
  5. Mark the placement of the backlight, measure the required length of the wiring, mark its location on the plan.

Once the plan is ready on paper, it needs to be copied to the ceiling. It is most convenient to draw the floor in the room, and then transfer all the parameters to the base ceiling base - it is easier to adjust the parameters if an error has occurred somewhere.

How to mark the ceiling:

  • find the lowest corner of the room, set aside a distance from it equal to the height of the profile and the thickness of the gypsum board, taking into account the fact that the distance between the ceiling and the upper tier should be 4-10 cm;
  • if there are protrusions or irregularities in the base surface, the distance is lowered taking into account the size of these defects;
  • the gap between the levels of frames 1 and 2 of the curly ceiling system is at least 5 cm;
  • postpone the desired distance, first in the lowest corner of the room, then transfer the marks in all corners;
  • connect the points in a line along the entire perimeter - this is the border of the profile attachment;
  • mark on the ceiling the points for placing the suspensions;
  • mark on the walls the points of the fasteners of the guide profile;
  • draw the boundaries of the levels of the curly ceiling with a pencil based on the reference points (as in your diagram).

If the installation of a curly plasterboard ceiling involves the formation of circles, they are drawn as follows: determine the center point of the circle and screw in a self-tapping screw. From the self-tapping screw, pull the fishing line with a pencil at the other end and with this "compass" draw any necessary circles, semicircles.

Installation of a frame from a profile

You should first buy the necessary metal profiles:

  • ceiling profile PP 60/27 (CD) length 275, 300, 450 cm - the main element of the frame;
  • guide profile NP 27x27 (UD) 275, 340, 450 cm long - fixed along the walls of the room;
  • arched profile 60x27 (PA) with a length of 275, 340, 450 cm for fastening curved elements;
  • incised guide profile 28x27 (NP28 / 27) 275, 340, 450 cm long is used as an arched profile.

You will need dowel-nails, self-tapping screws, U-shaped hangers, crabs, corner and multi-level connectors, as well as tools: a puncher, a screwdriver, a laser level, a tape measure, metal scissors, a brush, a set of spatulas. Of the materials, sheets of gypsum board, serpyanka, putty, primer for the ceiling of deep penetration are useful.

The work algorithm is as follows:

  1. Drill holes for the hangers using the marks on the ceiling and walls. Insert the dowels.
  2. Bend the edges of the U-shaped hangers, place the elements for the upper frame according to the marks.
  3. Insert the ceiling profile of the first tier into the guides. Self-tapping fasteners with a short leg.
  4. Install jumpers on the left and right sides of the profile. Crab connection to the main PP profile.
  5. Cut the straight profile into elements of the required size - these are vertical posts for the transition of tiers from the top to the bottom. Fastening to the frame of the upper tier with multilevel connectors.
  6. Make the frame of the lower level of a round or curved shape from a guide profile. The element is trimmed at regular intervals, then folded to form.
  7. Fasten the curved lamella to the connectors to the upper posts. Then insert the CD profile between the lamella and the lower guide profile (already mounted on the wall). Fastening the CD profile to the fragments of the upper tier frame - this will be more reliable.
  8. Install jumpers on the frame of the lower deck.

Important! If the surface of the ceiling is flat, then you can make a frame only for the figured (lower) tier. After arranging the frame, do not forget to lay all the wires, it is better to place them in a corrugated hose - this must be done before sheathing the ceiling with sheets of plasterboard.

Fastening drywall sheets

Installation of whole sheets of gypsum board on a plane is not difficult and difficult: clamp in clamps or rely on assistants, fasten with self-tapping screws.

Attention! To make it easier to seal seams and joints, first, the adjacent elements need to be chamfered by 2/3 of the sheet thickness. A plane or a sharp knife will come in handy.

When installing sheets, check with the diagram: if the gypsum board lies along the border between the levels, it is preliminarily cut off. It will not be superfluous to make holes in advance for spot lighting devices. But the installation of curved plasterboard ceilings with bent strips can be difficult.

In order not to spoil the sheet, it is cut or moistened:

  1. The cuts are made on the back of the strip of material. Care should be taken to cut only the cardboard layer and gypsum to a depth of no more than 0.5 cm. The outer cardboard layer must remain intact. Now the strip can be bent a little, giving it the desired shape.
  2. Moisturizing is an easier option. To do this, the strip must be rolled from the back side with a needle roller, then slightly moistened. The needles pierce the cardboard sheathing, wetting the inner layer. Now you need to bend the strip, lay it on the frame, fasten it carefully - while drying, the structure remains in the desired shape.

As soon as the work on sewing up the entire frame with sheets is completed, all the lighting devices are connected and tested for work, the puttying stage begins. All fasteners' caps and seams are covered with the composition.

Serpyanka is used to reinforce the seams. It is necessary to put putty on the seam, lay a piece of serpyanka so that the seam is located in the middle of the tape, press the tape into the composition a little and putty on top again, achieving leveling the surface. A spatula with a wide blade comes in handy. After the putty has dried, sand the surface with fine emery, dust and prime.

After processing, you can decorate the ceiling with any materials: wallpaper, paint, fabric.

Stretch and combined curly ceilings

Combined ceiling is a combination of suspended and tensioned structures. There can be a tensioned first tier, and the lower one - suspended, lined with wallpaper or painted in the desired color.

There are curly stretch ceilings:

  • multi-level - similar in technology to the arrangement of suspended structures;
  • wavy - the surface looks like a combination of convex elements and depressions, which gives the surface texture;
  • domed - several canvases represent a sphere or cone;
  • arched - the canvas is stretched in the form of a volumetric arch.

Forms are achieved by using complex aluminum baguettes. The baguettes are supplemented with cuts at the bending points, exactly like profiles for gypsum board sheets. Fastening a bent baguette to screws and dowels, suspensions are also used, as for ceiling profiles.

The wave-like shape is achieved by using a curved frame, which serves as a support for the stretch fabric.

Installation work is carried out as follows:

  • cut the aluminum baguette at the points indicated on the back, bend it;
  • install the baguette on wall panels or ceiling base;
  • warm up the room to +70 C with a heat gun;
  • also warm up the film to 40 C;
  • you can stretch the panel, fixing it in the corners, on temporary suspensions;
  • put the film behind the baguette with a spatula, fix it around the perimeter of the room.

As soon as the film starts to cool, it will stretch and take the shape given by the design of the baguette. But it is important to understand that stretch curved ceilings of complex curved shapes cause difficulties in installation and take up more space than combined options or suspended ceiling structures. Therefore, it is recommended to stretch the canvases in spacious rooms.

And another version of the curly ceiling, which is used very rarely, is fabric drapery. Applied for decoration suspended structures, but requires special care and experience.

It is most acceptable due to the achievement of ideal surface evenness and the creation of complex, curved, as well as multi-level shapes and structures. Such ceilings with minimum costs allow you to implement the most exquisite interiors with an indescribable play of acoustics and light, as well as hide engineering communications (wiring, pipes, ventilation) from prying eyes.

The use of curved plasterboard ceilings allows you to realize the most sophisticated interiors, as well as hide engineering communications from prying eyes.

Subtleties of markup

Curved plasterboard ceilings are multilevel ceilings with a height difference.

The marking of the future ceiling is performed in 2 stages. First do the markup ceiling slab with the determination of the lines of the future height difference, the locations of the profiles and sheets of drywall of the first level. Next, the markings are transferred to the plane of the 1st level sheets. A profile will be attached to these sheets, forming the curved lines of the shapes of the future ceiling.

The list of markup tools includes:

  1. Compass for outlining arcs and parts of circles. This tool can be made by yourself using any straight piece of wood or metallic profile... To do this, a screw is attached to one end, and a pencil to the other. You can also use a screw screwed into the ceiling and a rope with a pencil attached to it.
  2. Pencil for marking.
  3. Roulette, ruler, square for accurate marking.
  4. Special template. You can make such a template on the floor. To do this, we use a compass, a ruler, a tape measure, a sheet of polycarbonate, cardboard or plexiglass as the material of the ceiling template. With a template, lines can be drawn quickly, clearly and many times.

Curved ceiling marking is performed in 2 stages. In the process of marking, all arcs must be connected by straight line segments.

In the process of marking, all arcs must be connected by straight line segments. You can also markup using a bitmap that connects with a smooth, continuous line. The last option is "by eye" markup. In this case, a curve is drawn by hand, and future irregularities are supposed to be eliminated using a putty.

The difference in height is determined taking into account the height of the ceiling. Often it is in the range from 10 to 35 cm. With a low ceiling height, a drop of 10 cm is used. To do this, you can make a patch of 2-4 sheets of drywall.

Basic operations for creating curved ceilings

To perform the installation of curved plasterboard ceilings, we need the following tool:

  • knife for cutting drywall;
  • saw knife for curly cutting;
  • end and edge planer for processing the end part;
  • disc cutter and hole saw for making holes;
  • screwdriver with bits and adapter for tightening screws;
  • scissors and a profile cutter;
  • hammer drill or hammer drill for drilling holes.

From the material we need to have:

  • drywall;
  • ceiling and rack profiles for the frame;
  • suspensions (direct suspension or with wire traction);
  • connectors ("crab", connector for building);
  • dowels, nails, screws.

Using curved ceilings allows not only expanding the range of finishing of new premises, but also transforming old ones.

List of operations:

  1. We carry out the device of the first level frame. At the point where the wave passes, the step of the profiles is reduced to 40 cm, focusing on the pre-applied floor markings. The profile closest to the border of the drop is fastened to the ceiling every 0.4-0.5 m.
  2. Raise and hem the 1st level sheets. We make sure that the sheets go beyond the line of the border of the future wave. The pitch of the screws should be 25 cm.
  3. We draw the boundaries of the second level of the ceiling and the boundary of the wave, we fix the curved profile. To make a bent profile, we make alternate cuts from the inner part of the wave with U-shaped slots. We fasten the metal profile using self-tapping screws to the 1st level ceiling. They retreat from the wave line by an amount equal to the thickness of the drywall sheet, and the profile is sewn up.
  4. We carry out the frame of the second floor level. The spacing of the profiles is standard for and reduced for a three-level overlap. We hem the ceiling, leaving some margin (1 cm) for further fitting the wave.
  5. We attach the lower profile in the direction of the wave, exactly along the line of the upper profile. We control the displacements by level. We make the strapping of the upper and lower parts with vertical uprights and sew vertical plane drywall. For the curved part, we take a special sheet (6.5 mm) or often cut a standard sheet in its outer part.
  6. We putty the ceiling using gypsum fillers.
  7. We paint horizontal and vertical surfaces after complete drying.

Using curved ceilings, it is possible not only to expand the range of solutions for the decoration of new premises, but also to carry out the transformation and reconstruction of old ones.

In the old days, people lived in ordinary apartments and simple houses and did not think that from a simple room you can make a wonderful home for rest and life. With the advent of drywall on the market, people's fantasies and ideas began to appear. Every day more and more nuances come to light, for which you can make curved plasterboard ceilings at home.

Rules and subtleties of surface marking

A curved plasterboard ceiling is always a minimum. They are at a certain height from each other. The markup is done in stages. Tools that will be needed for markup:

Important! When marking is applied, all curves are necessarily connected by straight lines.

Stages of marking

  1. Initially, markings are applied to the ceiling for the I-th level. Points for suspension are marked. They will be installed at a distance of 60 cm from each other, profiles are installed at a distance of 40 cm from each other, this is also noted on the ceiling.
  2. Ceiling markings are applied to drywall sheets.

Roundness and other shapes from drywall are performed in the following ways:

The transition between the levels can be at least 10 cm if the vertical transition is done more, for example, for, it is worth measuring and calculating the height of the room, so that after that there is no feeling of a "falling ceiling" on the head.

Installation technologies

When installing a curved ceiling, sometimes certain difficulties arise with plasterboard. The material needs to be shaped to the desired shape. This can be done in 2 ways. In advance, templates are needed according to which the sheet will be bent.

Wet technology

This technology requires a needle roller and water. On the inside of the sheet, recesses are made with a roller.

Then the sheet needs to be soaked in water and put on a pattern-pattern. After a while, the material will take the form of the original workpiece. For the production of too curved forms, it is not advisable to use a sheet larger than 60 cm. The radius of the curved line is directly dependent on the thickness of the sheet. With a size of 9 mm. the minimum radius will be 50 cm, with a thickness of 12 mm. - 1 meter.

Wet drywall must dry well in order to maintain the intended shape. In order to learn more about wet technology, you need to watch a video that shows the creation of a form in stages.

Dry bending

With dry technology, it is possible to produce curved lines without large sizes... If a reinforced sheet is used, the mold template is not needed. Such sheets are very dense and bend perfectly. The thickness of such a sheet is 6.5 mm. In dry bending, the following details are available:

Frame production

Design features:

The video shows the design features of a curved ceiling.

Fastening drywall

Attachment stage ready-made forms curvilinear drywall (GKL) is uncomplicated in comparison with the manufacture of a frame. But it also has its own subtleties. In order for the seams on the ceiling to not diverge later, precise production of forms from sheets is required. The boundaries of the shape must match exactly with the attached frame and the curved profile.

To accurately cut a curved line, you need to mark the points on the sheet using a meter. After that, either connect these points by hand, or use a piece to cut the shape along the lines drawn.

Best of all with a knife designed for this. When the cardboard is cut, the gypsum breaks easily. If a complex shape is conceived on the ceiling, then it will be easier to make a pattern and cut the shape out of the sheet from it. When sheathing the frame, the cut forms are fastened with self-tapping screws at a distance of 25-30 mm from each other.

Mounted and ready-to-finish curved plasterboard ceiling The cap of the self-tapping screw must, as it were, be “drowned” in the sheet so that it is not higher than the surface of the mold. For sheathing the frame with large sheets, the help of a second person is required. If not, props are needed.

Important! To make a round hole for lighting fixture, you need to take a crown of the right size and an electric drill.

Some features of the frame

When sheathing a frame with curved lines, there are some features:

The final stage

After finishing the frame sheathing, you need to start. This is done to achieve a perfect surface and finish.

Interesting! In the next 2018, not only bright and saturated colors will be considered fashionable tones, but also pastel shades of the rainbow, which go from dark to light tones with a smooth transition. The border between the transition is practically invisible. To do this, you need a regular sponge. The technique of this transition of tones is called "Ombre". In the photo you can see the range of colors transitioning smoothly.

The modern fashion of the interior of the premises is peculiar, unique, emphasizing the tastes of the residents of apartments and houses. Almost every room has a multi-level ceiling, arches or curved plasterboard decorative designs... For convenience or multi-level ceilings, manufacturers of metal products, drywall have created a flexible profile. The arched profile for drywall is produced by a few firms, but it is distinguished by its strength and quality of its products. It is possible to bend it well and fix it into any structure and shape, and at the same time, the profile does not need to be cut with scissors. Now let us consider in detail what solutions of curved profiles for gypsum fiber board manufacturers offer.

Flexible Flex system

Flext flexible profile has an original design that reduces installation time metal frame for drywall products. Flex enterprise manufactures products only from quality material, which is tested for strength and functionality before being released for sale. Arched Flex has a number of advantages:

  1. The flexible profile for plasterboard is patented as a durable product, after the installation of the metal frame, a rigid curved structure is obtained, ready for sheathing with plasterboard sheets.
  2. Versatility - using a flexible arched profile, curved structures of various shapes, sizes, radius of curvature are created.
  3. Functionality - when assembling the flexible Flext drywall profile, you do not need to use additional connectors. After installation, it is a self-supporting structure.
  4. Ease of use allows the work to be done by a person not associated with construction work.

For installation of a bending profile for drywall, you do not need to cut its sides. The product has 2 parts made in the shape of a corner. At each end there are special locks, with the help of which the profile can be easily connected to the required length. There are grooves on the sides - when assembling, parts of the product go into the holes, creating a strong bending structure, ready for mounting the frame.

For the production of an arched product, galvanized steel is used, divided into modifications:

  1. Standard - metal thickness reaches 0.45mm. A profile made of steel of this modification is applicable for rigid, durable frames, sheathed with plasterboard.
  2. Light - steel thickness 0.4mm. The profile of this modification is used in ceiling structures, since its rigidity is 20% less than the "Standard".

Using the flexible Flex profile, the master saves not only time to create the required radius of the frame shape, but also increases the rigidity and strength of the drywall product. The flooring created from the Flex product will look beautiful, individual, emphasizing the design of the entire apartment or house.

It is possible to buy a bending profile system in the Leroy Merlin store. With its application, it is possible to implement more complex projects of curved walls and ceilings. Manufacturer website http: //xn--e1akb0afh.xn--p1ai/

Designs from Knauf

The company that produces the entire required material for gypsum plasterboard structures, is of high quality products. The profiles created by the company are used in frames that can withstand a sufficient load.

Initially, the company offers to use the service of bending the profile to your size. It is cold rolled through rolls. The approximate cost is from 300-700 rubles. It is possible to order in the city of Krasnogorsk, Moscow region. plant Knauf.

Curved profile

Profile PP 60/27 curved form is the basis of curved structures and arches. Bending can be done both with the walls inward,
and outward, respectively, in a convex or concave shape.

The following options are available:

  • minimum bending radius, concave: 500 mm;
  • minimum bending radius, convex: 1000 mm.

A novelty from the Knauf company has been developed - a flexible Sinus profile with flexible edges to create curved wall structures.

Flexible Knauf Sinus Profile

The flexible Knauf-sinus profile has its own distinctive features:

  1. a finished product for creating a curly frame for drywall;
  2. the component frame with flexible edges creates a precise composition for plasterboard arches or ;
  3. can be mounted horizontally and vertically.

By creating a vertical product using Knauf technologies, it is possible to create a beautiful one, as well as build a curved structure.

The metal profile for arched structures is made of galvanized sheet, 0.6mm thick. It has a U-shape, has sufficient rigidity and ease of bending. It is used not only in the installation of curly ceilings, but also as a guide profile for the reproduction of walls with curly elements.

The steel arched profile has dimensions - 50-40-1900mm., 75-40-1900mm., 100-40-1900mm. Minimum bending radius:

  • 50-40-1900 - 125mm .;
  • 75-40-1900 - 175mm .;
  • 100-40-1900 - 250mm.

When buying a bending profile for Knauf drywall, you should purchase the rest of the component materials of this brand. Thus, the desired structural rigidity will be achieved, as well as the required curved plasterboard element will be produced.

The enterprise is located in the city of Kharkov. Releasing a wide range of products, it also produces a figured profile for drywall. The product is used in the installation of curved figured plasterboard ceilings, GKL partitions, the creation of plasterboard arches.

Unfortunately, such a profile system is difficult to acquire

For the curved ceiling, the CD 60/27 profile was produced, the UD 28/27 ceiling rails, which have different specifications, including bending radius, minimum 500mm.

For partitions, the UW 75 profile is produced with characteristics 75/40.

When installing a large frame, using a shaped profile, time is saved, no physical force is required to cut the profile.

Using an arched profile in creating a frame for a drywall product saves time, human resources, and money. Curly ceilings, arches, are durable and reliable. The rigidity of the frame base gives full reason for the long-term use of the structure without deformation or other manifestations of disrepair.
