Modern systems curtain mounts are interior decoration in themselves. The assortment is represented by a variety of models with carving, inlay, original form, with an unusual painting, etc. But in order for the design of the space to be truly original and exclusive, the designers recommend thinking over the individual decoration of the cornice.

Decorating ideas

There are many options for decorating, it is hardly possible to cover everything within the framework of one article, we will try to talk about the conceptual design techniques on which the rest of the design is based.

You can update the cornice with your own hands using a ready-made decor or you can independently invent and make a decoration

Hood

The hood is a decorative plastic tape, in rolls, maximum length a single piece of 60 m. Glue or attach it to a special lock is the easiest way to decorate the cornice. Suitable for baguette models, with a smooth face. You can cut the bar yourself to size and attach the overlay.

A very convenient decoration option if you bought a curtain holder, but it does not fit the interior or you want to update an existing baguette. Decorative tape on the cornice can imitate natural materials, precious woods, carvings, ornaments, and be decorated in a modern style.

A polymer blend is a real find for designers, it helps to quickly decorate the cornice and update the interior

Paint

Painting the cornice to match the curtains is a quick, economical, creative way to decorate. The idea is suitable for decorating wooden or metal rods, as well as for a baguette. Previously, the surface is sanded with a fine abrasive so that the paint does not peel off later. For the strength of the decorative layer, it is recommended to apply a primer.

When preparatory work finished, the cornice is painted in desired color... For this purpose, acrylic paints or compositions from a spray can are suitable. After applying the base layer, a pattern can be applied using a stencil or by hand with a brush. Then the coating is fixed with transparent varnish. This idea helps not only to decorate the curtain mount, but also to change the geometry of the space. When the curtains and cornice are the same color, it visually raises the ceiling, the room seems higher.

Wooden or plastic molding can be painted semi-antique, applied to the base color with gilding, patina. Also, use ready-made paint kits with different effect: craquelure, velor, leather-like, metallic, mother-of-pearl, etc.

Paste over

You can decorate the cornice by pasting it with wallpaper, a fabric to match the curtains, making a decoupage from napkins. The selected canvas is glued to the base sanded with abrasive using PVA, the edges are bent inward. After drying, apply 2 coats of protective varnish. Lace, tulle strips, self-adhesive decorative ribbons, beads, artificial rhinestones, and even beautiful buttons are suitable for decoration.

Feel free to be creative, experiment, combine different materials

Decoration with flowers

Artificial flowers, imitation climbing plants - a great idea for decorating ceiling and wall cornices... Finished twigs are attached to the bar with paper clips or decorative clips. In order to save money, you can make flowers from corrugated paper with your own hands, and connect them into a composition using fishing line or thin wire wrapped in the same paper.

Hard lambrequins

Lambrequins are a traditional way to decorate a cornice. Usually they come with curtains, but you can make a separate composition. As a rule, this is appliqué or embroidery on the band, which can be ordered by individual project, buy ready-made or do it yourself.

Exclusive lambrequin - accent, decoration and highlight of the interior

Openwork lambrequins became a real find for decorating cornices with your own hands. Accessories are sold in rolls, by meter, and come in different widths. There are piece models for openings of standard length. Color palette small, but thought out for all styles, so you can always choose a decorative tape, if not the color of the curtains, then under the furniture, floors, upholstery.

In the photo there is a finished openwork lambrequin, suitable for decorating ceiling and wall cornices

Figures and accessories

Highly original idea for decoration - attach or plant a figurine or a soft toy on the cornice, multi-colored butterflies, birds, dragonflies, bees look beautiful. The choice of accessories is huge, these are stylized animals, ballerinas, and fairy-tale characters.

Accessories can be bought in the store, or made by hand, by cutting out of paper, stringing from beads, crocheting

Cornice decoration is an interesting and creative process, you can do with ready-made solutions or show your creativity. Do not be afraid to experiment, but the decor should be in moderation. Remember the combination of colors, the size of the cornice and the proportions of the room: in low rooms, the top decor in the color of the curtains is recommended, if the space with very high ceilings, then you can hang a wide lambrequin several shades darker than the main canvas.

Not a single window opening is complete without a cornice, which, in addition to its direct functions, also plays a decorating role in the formation of the entire interior in the room. The wood cornice fits perfectly into the design of not only apartments, but also into the style of the country house. There is a wide range of different forms and colors. A wide variety of models allows you to choose the most the best option both for light curtains and for heavier ones, combined curtains... For giving a cornice made of wood, it is the best option, since the product does not require excessive maintenance, and at the same time retains its original appearance long years.

Product classification

As a rule, before purchasing such a product, you need to decide on the method of its installation, as well as what the curtain material will be. In addition, it is worth paying attention to which room the cornice will be made for. If you make a rash choice, then there is a risk to arrange the room tasteless and wrong.

To choose best option, it is worth using the following classification:

  • First of all, you need to decide on the method of attachment. The cornice can be mounted on the wall: directly above the window opening, or to the ceiling. For spacious rooms with high ceilings, it is better to choose a wall-mounted installation method, and for small-sized rooms, a ceiling installation option is more suitable.
  • External design of the product. The most popular are models equipped with an external decorative strip that hides the fasteners of the curtains. Very often, such products are additionally decorated with decorative carvings.
  • Curtain hanging option. For fastening curtains can be used: rings, hinges, clips, eyelets.
  • Number of rows. In this case, we are talking about combined curtains. The most popular option is to use light curtains for daytime, and thicker, heavy curtains for nighttime.
  • In addition, it is advisable to pay attention to the type of wood. If, when making a cornice on your own with your own hands, you give preference to soft varieties of wood, then the product can be supplemented with beautiful carvings, since such species are easy to process. Heavier types of wood, such as beech, larch and mahogany, will require additional fasteners.

Self-made products will noticeably stand out against the background of factory models. Making such an element with your own hands, there is no need to over-process it. In some cases, the rough appearance of this accessory will be more relevant for decorating a summer cottage or a country house. It is worth noting that when using a raw curtain rod, you should consider more reliable ways of attaching the curtains, as the curtains will be more difficult to move.

It should be noted that the price for this accessory is not so high, but it will be much more pleasant to decorate the interior in country house do it yourself.

Homemade cornices

Such an accessory is easy enough to make with your own hands. In this case, such a decision can most often be made not because of the cost of the finished product, but rather because of the desire to create a unique thing. At the same time, in terms of practicality and functionality, home-made models are in no way inferior to purchased counterparts.

For the simplest model, you will need to assemble an u-shaped box from small slats, but at the same time fasteners for curtains will have to be additionally purchased in the store. The slats on the box can be decorated with decorative carvings or any pattern.

To make another model with your own hands, you can use a regular handle from a shovel or rake. It will need to be varnished and secured over the window opening. When using these 2902 curtain mounts, rings, preferably wooden, can be used. Along the edges, such a product can be decorated with additional cone-shaped elements.

When decorating a window opening in a country house, it all looks very attractive. You can make this accessory from any available means, in this case, everything is limited only by the completeness of your imagination. At the same time, a hand-made product will delight the eye and warm the soul from the fact that you yourself decorated the interior in the room without resorting to the help of designers.

Having only a jigsaw and a drill from tools, and from materials - a spruce board and a rake handle, you can make a beautiful cornice for a country window.

Once my mother-in-law bought a new rake handle, but it turned out to be too thick and short. And at that time I decided to make a cornice for a window on the second floor of the dacha. Of course, you can say that the curtain rod is easier to buy. But when, after the construction of a summer cottage, you have a large amount of leftover materials, then your hands just itch to put them into action.

We start making the ceiling cornice

Having measured the width of the window (110 cm), as well as the length (130 cm) and diameter (30 mm) of the handle, he set to work. The front side of the cornice (the blank of the front board) and the sidewalls were cut from a purely planed spruce board 20 mm thick and 140 mm wide. I chose the length of the front board to be equal to the length of the round handle - 1300 mm.

Sidewalls made square shape - 140 x 140 mm. The holes in the sidewalls for the handle were drilled with a 032 mm hole saw so that the 30-mm handle would enter them freely and be fixed with screws. In the trailing edges of the sidewalls, I cut out recesses for the heads of the fastening hooks with a knife and screwed on metal hangers.

The front cornice board was decorated with semicircular cutouts. All details of the cornice were carefully processed with sandpaper before varnishing and assembly. After sandpapering, the beautiful texture of spruce wood appeared. I regret one thing - that in time (before varnishing) I did not think to paint the cornice.

DIY cornice rings

How to make rings for the cornice, I came up with a long time ago.

First, with a hole saw with a diameter of 50 mm, I cut a dozen discs from 10-mm plywood. After processing the edges, their diameter became approximately 46 mm. Then he clamped the discs in a vice and drilled out the middle with a hole saw with a diameter of 32 mm. It turned out blanks for cornice rings, which were carefully processed with sandpaper from all sides. After varnishing the rings, I attached crocodile clips to them with small self-tapping screws.

Transparent domestic yacht varnish spread in a container made of cut plastic bottle, and slightly darkened with brown Tikkurila varnish.

Such a container for paints is convenient in that the brushes left in it do not dry out, but "live" in the varnish, and after work they do not need to be washed in a strong-smelling white spirit. After all, it is enough to close the container and seal it along the joint, for example, with masking tape.

All details of the cornice covered yacht varnish, after it dries, in a day, I started assembling. On the front side, at the ends of the facade board, I drilled a pair of 02.5 mm holes, countersunk them under the screw heads with a 6-mm drill. I connected the sidewalls to the front board with wood screws 03.5 x 45 mm. The heads of the screws were masked by glued square bosses and-on masonry cut from the same board.

I put rings with crocodiles on the handle, inserted 8 holes in the sidewalls and fixed it with a pair of screws. The cornice is ready.

It turned out that the lines of the floor, ceiling, windows were not strictly horizontal, and the cornice seemed to hang crookedly. I ended up attaching the cornice parallel to the window, although the building level showed slight deviation.

Do-it-yourself cornice - production progress: photo

  1. I made the sides square.
  2. You can also use a Forstner drill or a feather drill to drill holes in the sidewalls.
  3. Metal hanger plates can be purchased at a hardware store or home improvement market.
  4. Semicircular cutouts in the facade board of the cornice were made with a jigsaw.
  5. After sanding, the beautiful wood grain is clearly visible.
  6. To make rings from 10 mm plywood, I sawed the discs with a hole saw.
  7. Clamping the plywood discs in a vice, I drilled out the middle.
  8. The blanks of the rings were carefully polished from all sides.
  9. I screwed crocodile clips to the varnished rings with self-tapping screws.
  10. The container for the varnish is made from a plastic bottle.
  11. The details of the cornice, covered with yacht varnish, dried for 24 hours.
  12. The pilot holes in the façade board are countersunk with a 6 mm drill.
  13. The sides are fastened to the front board with self-tapping wood screws.
  14. The screw heads are masked by glued square bosses.

There are many types of cornices on sale, but many homeowners want to have something original in the interior that is different from consumer goods. Or the status of the premises does not impose special requirements on the interior, and there is no need to spend money on an industrial-made accessory - you can build something from the available tools at hand.

Examples of placing curtains on homemade devices

Consider several options for how you can make a cornice with your own hands, with reference to a particular situation.

Despite the small list of functions performed and the seeming insignificance of the role in the interior, the basic requirements for cornice devices are quite serious:

  • durability - the destruction of the device is fraught with injury to a person or (if it falls on a heating device) fire from ignition of curtains;
  • safety - no harmful emissions;
  • aesthetics - due to the visual availability of the location of the accessory.

When self-assembly accessory, these requirements must be taken into account, as are also taken into account by the manufacturers of curtain rods that manufacture products in an industrial way.

Homemade decorative cornices

Self-made can also be called those products that are made by professional woodcarvers or blacksmiths, that is, accessories of a high class of artistic performance, but made by hand. The cost of such curtain rods is often several times higher than the price of highly decorative industrial models, but serial ones. We will consider technologies that do not require professional skill and expensive materials, but allow you to assemble a product of a sufficient level of aesthetics.

Cornice baguettes made of metal pipes or rods

The most affordable metal suitable for making a cornice in everyday life is ½ and ¾ inch water pipes, both galvanized and black. Most paints adhere even better to zinc coating.

First of all, depending on the size of the span, the pipe diameter and the number of brackets are selected. On the cornice for a narrow window or door (less than 0.8 m), you can use a half-inch pipe; for a larger span, it is better to take material with a diameter of ¾. If the width window opening more than 1.5 m, then the cornice device must be attached to 3 brackets - along the edges and in the middle.

Steel water pipe cornices with connecting fittings

Having retreated 15-20 cm to the sides from the side slopes of the window opening, the total length of the cornice is obtained, and the desired piece of pipe is cut off. If there are 3 fasteners, then the cut fragment is cut in half. Then, at all ends of the two obtained pieces, a thread is cut with a scraper (3-4 turns), having previously removed a chamfer on their outer edges and lubricated with grease.

From the same pipe, pipes with a length of 10-15 cm are cut - according to the number of fasteners, and a thread is also cut on each side on one side. Then you need to purchase or cut out with a grinder from sheet steel 3-5 mm thick supporting "spots" according to the number of pipes and drill holes in them with countersink for self-tapping screws. Nipples are welded to the spots strictly perpendicular to their plane - with an end without a thread, the welding seam is grinded with a grinder, and the cornice can be completely assembled on threaded connections: 2 nipples are connected to the bar with pipe branches of the corresponding diameter, and the third with a tee.

An option for a homemade eaves from a steel pipe and bends

Important! If a pipe without zinc spraying is used for the manufacture of a cornice, then when the components are ready (before assembly), one of the ways to perform their bluing (blackening), which will give the surface a dark shade and protect against corrosion.

As finishing you can use painting in a suitable color - with nitro paint from a spray can or autoenamel with a brush. Use oil paint undesirable - rings slide poorly on such a paint layer.

Watching this video will help the description:

For the manufacture of a small span cornice (up to 1.5 m), you can also use a steel bar square section 12x12 mm, which is quite suitable as a curtain rod. To make the bar decorative, the cut-to-size rod is marked along the length into several sections, after which on lathe or using manual mechanical devices they are twisted through one by an equal number of revolutions. The hexagon rod can also be twisted around its axis, both in sections and throughout its length.

Hand-operated mechanical devices for twisting metal rods

The rod for the cornice can also be made from a round steel bar with a diameter of 15-20 mm. If such an element is hot forged along its entire length, followed by bluing, then the accessory takes on the appearance of an antique interior element. If the ends of the bar are splashed, then they become limiters for the rings, but they can also be decorated with wooden decorative knobs.

On-site eaves on wood and metal brackets

For both types of rods, it is not difficult to make brackets - they can be either made of wood or metal - forged, bent, chiseled. On sale you can also find ready-made components of the simplest designs.

Metal bracket options

There are no questions about fastening the brackets - they are usually mounted with self-tapping screws into holes sealed with nylon snipe, at the same height from the floor.

Eaves made of polypropylene tubes

PP pipes can also be used to make homemade curtain rod fixtures. The design of the finished baguette will differ from the accessory made of metal pipes only in the assembly method, strength and weight.

The product is assembled from the same components as in the case of metal pipes - 3/4 ”PP pipe, identical elbows and tee, support nickels.

Accessories and assemblies of a homemade PP-pipe cornice

The assembly of the elements is carried out using a special device - an iron, the skills of working with which are acquired after two or three trial connections.

After assembly, the cornice is painted with paint from a spray bottle or spray can.

PP-tube eaves painted in red copper and brass

The products are durable, resistant to most types of household effects, but due to the flexibility of polypropylene, they are not suitable for placing heavy curtains, and for light curtains, the distance between the brackets should not be more than 1 m.

Wooden cornice devices

Cornice moldings made of wood, like metal ones, are produced in various types.

If we consider rod-type devices, then their design does not differ from metal ones - the same rod with brackets, only made of wood. The bar is turned on a lathe from a bar of the required length. The wood can be of any common type, but without knots. After finishing the turning work, the crossbar is sanded with sandpaper, varnished and installed on a wall or ceiling using brackets.

Various designs of wooden curtain rods

The second type of cornice made of wood - with a decorative strip can also be made by hand, while it is not necessary to master the art of artistic carving. You need to familiarize yourself with, and make a copy of the accessory, but to decorate the decorative strip, use ready-made carved decor available for sale in furniture accessories stores.

Important! To decorate the eaves, instead of wooden elements of carved decor, you can use ceiling plinth made of polystyrene, which is glued to the base and decorated in an artistic way - with water-based paints.

A board with a thickness of 2-2.5 cm, smoothly planed, with processed edges, is taken, and brackets are mounted to it. Elements of carved decor are attached to the front side of the strip with PVA glue, after which they wait for the adhesive to dry and decorate the decorative strip in an artistic way - they are stained and varnished.

A cornice with a decorative strip can have a hidden rod or a cable string for fastening rings in the design.

The second version of this accessory is for decoration - installation of a strip with brackets (or without them) on the base on top of a string-type cornice device pre-mounted there.

Wooden curtain rods: on the left - with guides in the structure, on the right - overhead placement, without a bar

Bamboo Rod Curtain Rods

Bamboo does not grow in Russia, but at present not only furniture and crafts from it are imported from China, but also bamboo trunks and twigs themselves, both fresh and dry. An original cornice can also be made from an old bamboo shelf or wall shelf, if the length and diameter of the rods allows.

Bamboo stems for eaves rod: fresh and dry annealed

Important! The flexural strength of a bamboo rod can be increased by removing the top layer of bark from the rod, which contains cambium, the shell that gives the trunk flexibility.

If you plan to use rings to place the curtains, then on the bamboo rod, the transverse thickenings are processed with a file, making them streamlined, but it is important not to grind off the excess, so as not to weaken the rod significantly in this place.

Homemade bamboo cornices: double-row and single-row

If, instead of rings, looped braid loops are used that do not move along the bar, then the transverse annular thickenings on the bamboo can be left unchanged and even made more embossed with the help of automobile putty, and then the crossbar can be painted in the color of a living trunk - juicy green.

For decorative design bamboo cornice rods can also be blown out with a blowtorch and then coated with colorless varnish.

Homemade rod curtain rods made of dry annealed and dyed bamboo

There can be many options for additional decoration of bamboo cornices, depending on the status of the room and the class of its finishing.

Cornice fixtures from a tree branch

The selected branch is cut to size and everything exfoliating and affected is removed from it. Then the workpiece is dried, the protruding knots are removed from it, processed with emery paper and covered with varnish - preferably semi-matte, preserving the naturalness of the product.

Depending on the configuration of the accessory, brackets are selected for it, and fixed in place, after which curtains are placed on the branch - on rings or hinges made of braid.

Homemade eaves from natural tree branches

Important!IN wooden houses it is especially important to treat the branch with an antiseptic against grinder insects, for example, "Antizhuk", which will protect the structure from infection with it.

Rope curtain rods

Original devices for placing curtains can be built from high-quality rope, but it should not be impregnated, such as hemp, otherwise the room will smell of oil.

Such a cornice does not have a universal design and can be decorated in a wide variety of ways, but at its ends, of course, there should be brackets for mounting to a wall or ceiling.

Eaves cables for curtains

If desired, decorative elements can be woven into the rope, or dyed in a brighter color.

Combinations from sports equipment

You can use both a paddle and old golf or hockey clubs to place the curtains, but refurbished and covered with a protective layer of paint or varnish. This type of cornice is especially appropriate for decorating rooms intended for teenage children.

A rowing paddle as a cornice

The paddle can be additionally decorated with artificial algae. Brackets are made, of course, with reference to the accessory used.

Twin club curtain rods for golf and hockey

Such a device is distinguished not only by its originality, but also by its durability, moreover, it can be fixed on the wall without damaging the inventory, and subsequently it can be dismantled and used for its intended purpose.

Conclusion

If the room is decorated with expensive finishes, and the interior is designed in a certain style, then, if you are not a master in the manufacture of cornices, you will hardly be able to do something worthy. But you can safely try yourself in this role, for example, in the country, since for a room without any special frills do it yourself decent curtain rod for curtains is quite real.

The main point of the article

  1. If you do not want to decorate the room with serial products, the curtain rod can be made independently.
  2. The device for placing curtains is a simple device, but it also has a number of mandatory requirements that you need to know when manufacturing.
  3. The list of materials at hand, from which you can yourself, is wide, but not always the possibility of using them comes to mind by itself. Therefore, when planning to assemble the cornice with your own hands, it is better to know the common technologies for its independent production.
  4. When assessing your capabilities, you need to be objective - not to waste time copying highly artistic models, but to make something original for a middle-class interior.

In order to achieve coziness in the room, it is usually curtained with curtains and tulle. Curtains provide darkening of the room and protect it from penetration prying eyes... In order to hang them, you need to use a cornice. There are various curtain rods - both open and with a decorative strip that closes the hooks for clamping the curtains.

Curtain rod manufacturing process

In order to make a cornice, there is simple circuit, which is suitable for any type of premises. You can do this work with your own hands, for this it is enough to use a steel string, which must be fixed to the ceiling. You need to put hooks on it (rings with clips, paper clips, etc.). It will be practical, but not very aesthetically pleasing. But this can all be fixed by making a casing that will hide this mechanism.

To make it, you need to use a piece of laminated plywood, the width of which will be 10-15 cm, and the length not less than 250-300 cm. The length size may vary, everything will depend on the width of the window span and the room itself. It often happens that it is impossible to find a piece of plywood of the required length, but in this case there is nothing to worry about. To do this, you just need to increase the required length.

In order to cope with the necessary task, you will need the following tool:

  • drill with drills;
  • pliers;
  • screwdriwer set;
  • electric jigsaw or hacksaw;
  • ruler;
  • construction stapler;
  • pVA glue;
  • sharp knife or scissors.

When starting to make a curtain rod, you need to take the exact dimensions and then transfer to plywood. After that, you can start cutting the workpiece. The sawing process is a simple procedure. To avoid the occurrence of various chips of the decorative surface, you will need a saw with a small hardened tooth and a small setting.

To achieve an even sawing seam, you need to keep the hacksaw blade strictly vertical. The wider the blade, the easier it will be to get an even cut. It is impossible to cut exactly according to the markings, you need to make a gap 1-2 mm further than the line.

Sawing should be done with light pressure, keeping an angle of 30-35 ° relative to the horizontal surface of the plywood. Such a small angle will allow you to more accurately maintain the cut line.

Eaves lengthening process

After all the necessary pieces of plywood have been sawn off, you can proceed to joining (lengthening) the resulting blanks. Since the structure of the cornice and its ends will not bear the load, the prepared cuts can be connected to metal brackets with PVA glue.

The edges of the cuts must be sanded with sandpaper to remove any irregularities and burrs formed.

After that, they must be coated with PVA glue. You don't need to save it, excess glue can be removed with a rag. After about an hour, the glue will partially dry out, then you can make the connection with a construction stapler. Fixation with paper clips must be done from 2 sides.

After that, the prepared structure must be left for 20-30 hours until the glue is completely dry. Then, using a hammer, you need to drown the connection brackets. This can only be done from the front side.

If plywood of different colors was used, then in order to give the cornice a uniform color, it is necessary to paste over it with a self-adhesive film. The color of the film should be chosen according to individual tastes and preferences. Moreover, it will increase the joint strength of the eaves structure.

To paste over a homemade cornice, modern market building materials offers a large selection of such films. They have different textures, colors and all kinds of patterns.

Since the prepared width of the cornice will be 15 cm, the width of the film should be 22-25 cm. Such a narrow film is not for sale, so you will have to purchase a wider one and cut it neatly. The evenness of the cut will not matter, because it will still bend to the inside.

You need to glue the film using a soft rubber roller, smoothly moving its surfaces. This will help prevent air bubbles from forming under the film, and it will adhere tightly to the cornice the first time.

After the film has been rolled out, it is necessary to wrap its edges. This must be done carefully; using a knife or scissors, you need to trim the corner edge at an angle of 45 °. Then the upper part of the cut must be glued with a roller on the back side. After that, the side cuts are glued.

Mount the cornice

The next step is to install fasteners on the homemade cornice that will help secure it. Since the curtains will be hung on a wire fixed to the ceiling, the decorative element itself must be mounted on the ceiling. To do this, cut strips 20-25 mm wide, 100-110 mm long from a sheet of steel 2-3 mm thick and make corners from them. After that, mark the points and drill holes with a diameter of 8-10 mm in them.

Fastening to the cornice should be done at a distance of 60-65 cm from its edge using dowel-nails. After that, holes are drilled in the ceiling and corners are installed. If, instead of holes, cylindrical grooves are made in the corners, this will allow you to adjust the prepared curtain rods.

After that, you need to hang curtains. For this, hooks or rings with clothespins are attached to the string. The second option is more convenient to use, since it allows you to easily remove and hang curtains.

After the curtains are hung, all available fasteners need to be tightened. This will avoid the shakiness of the cornice and its possible fall in the future.

The curtains should be hung freely, preventing them from accumulating in one place, this will allow evenly distributing the load on the string and will not lead to its stretching.

It is not difficult to make a homemade cornice, it is enough to have imagination and have a little skill in working with the tool. In the event of a change in the interior, you can replace the top film with another one that matches the color of the new room.
