Experience it in action - dip the rod into a bottle of paint diluted to a liquid state and blow into the tube. An air vortex forms at the junction of the rods, which lifts and sprays the paint. If the paint does not rise, then it is too thick.

To make a convenient pistol-shaped body, you need two sticks, seven self-tapping screws to hold the parts together, the most banal plastic soda bottle cap, and three strips of thin sheet metal.
