In this article, we will look at two methods of making a tandoor from a 200 liter metal barrel.

Before you start making a tandoor from a 200-liter barrel, you should prepare a number of tools and materials.

After that, you should attach to the brick wooden handle, for this, a recess is drilled in the center of the brick, and the handle is set on a clay solution. You can use a cast iron blower door with a steel flap, but it will be less tight.

After making the oven, you should think about installing it. Since the furnace is stationary, it must be installed on a foundation. It should be shallow, about 20 centimeters. In this case, the diameter of the recess in the ground should be slightly larger than the diameter of the furnace, by about 15-20 centimeters. For the manufacture of the foundation, it is required to fill in a sand cushion on the bottom of the pit, and lay a reinforcing mesh on top. Formwork is created with a height of 10-15 centimeters, it is poured with concrete.

Second way

There is an easier way to make a tandoor from a barrel:

1. Inside the barrel, clearly in the center, a piece of iron pipe of large diameter is installed.
2. The space remaining between the walls of the barrel and the pipe must be filled with expanded clay, slag or broken refractory bricks.
