Introduction.

Stools are chairs without backs or short benches for one person only. In conditions of limited space in the premises, they are the most suitable furniture products, they take up little space.
A wooden block is considered similar to a stool; it can act as seats or tables. It is made industrially from a debarked trunk of cedar, oak, or birch. The shape of the barrel is often used by modern designers in their work.
It is very comfortable to sit on a log that is placed on the priest, but it is difficult to drag it. To make the stump lighter, its middle is undermined. This is how the stools got a “waist”, which is very convenient to grab onto. Similar patterns are still found among African tribes. Models with chiseled silhouettes look advantageous in absolutely any interiors - both classic and modern.
Later, a form in the form of a saddle appears, peeped from the nomads. The representative of the steppe peoples, in order not to sit on the cold ground, used the harness taken from the horses as a seat. In the middle of the last century, Achille Castiglioni was the very first to remove the seat from the bicycle and put it on a steel rod with a stand - it turned out to be a stool. The shape of the saddle stool was positively approved by physiotherapists: how such a seat will allow you to redistribute the load from lumbar spine to the ischium. Therefore, there is no need to lean on the backs of chairs.
A little later, all the furniture makers from the banks of the Nile stretched a mat between the supports. Under the weight of the seated, it begins to deform exactly as needed. And the stability of this design will provide an x-shaped base. The Romans made the mounts movable this is how foldable stools . Portable folding chairs traveled behind the senators to the various boardrooms. Later, they were transformed into camping chairs, and director's chairs also came from them.
Stools are the largest group of pieces of furniture. Now stools are almost any seat without backs and armrests. The modern stool is made from the most various materials(wood, plastic, metal, leather, fabric, etc.). A soft and hard stool is produced, with a round, square or rectangular seat, which rests on 3-4 legs and stands on two frames.
A separate category is made up of “one-legged”, the so-called screw chairs on a single central support. Very often they rotate, and some of them are also able to rise to a height from the traditional 40 cm to 80-85 cm.

of course, bar stools.
Modern stools are bright, colorful,

functional details that can transform the interior of any kitchen. Behind

with this, the choice of a stool for the kitchen or living room should always be approached with

special attention, as they must ideally

fit into the design concept of the room.

1. Justification of the problem and need

The apartment in which we live, work and relax should be comfortable, cozy and, of course, beautiful. To achieve this, it is not at all necessary to spend large sums of money. To do this, you need to do a lot with your own hands.

The main thing in this project is that the product can be made independently. When choosing this project, the following points were taken into account.

In the process of manufacturing this stool, the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of mathematics, physics, chemistry and technology are used.

The manufacture of a stool contributes to the consolidation of previously studied material on such topics as “Marking”, “Drilling”, “Repair of furniture in everyday life”.

The equipment of the training workshops makes it possible to carry out this project, this work is not dangerous. In the process of implementation, you can get acquainted with the technology of interior design, acquire skills in furniture repair. Having made such a stool, you can make a personal contribution to the design of the apartment, making a nice gift to your parents.

In the manufacture of a stool, accuracy and accuracy are required.

2. Thinking scheme

3. Identification of the main parameters and limitations

The product must meet the following requirements:

1. The product must be done carefully.

2. The product must match the chosen style.

3. The product must be beautiful.

4. The product must be durable.

4. Theoretical information

The product that I decided to make, as indicated above, should be neat, beautiful and durable. I decided to make a stool from wood.

In this case, it is best to make oak wood.

Oak - refers to deciduous ring-vascular wood species. Oak wood is distinguished by high strength and hardness, resistance to decay, the ability to bend, has a beautiful texture and color. It is used in carpentry and furniture, veneer cutting and parquet production; in wagon-carriage-shipbuilding, as well as in agricultural engineering, in the production of riveting blanks for barrels.

5. History and modernity

The history of chairs goes back to ancient times. Even ancient people realized the usefulness and necessity of such a thing, on which one could sit down and relax. The chairs of the primitive man were a flat stone with jagged edges. Subsequently, people began to improve the chair, adding some details to it. Gradually he began to accept, albeit remotely, modern look.

In more recent times, chairs adorned with precious stones and made of expensive materials have become a luxury item. Royal chairs (thrones) were hollowed out from a huge block of marble, inlaid with diamonds and other precious stones, and trimmed with gold.

Hunters and fishermen also use chairs, and a wide variety of objects can play their role: boxes, even stones, logs, etc.

Every home has chairs. Their designs at different times were different and corresponded to different ideas of people about beauty and convenience. These were chairs made of various types of wood, ranging from cheap pine to extremely expensive mahogany. There are also several more popular modifications of the chair - armchairs, rocking chairs, sofas, ottomans. And although they look different, their purpose is exactly the same.

In normal wooden chair designs with four legs are most commonly used, but specimens with only three legs can be found.

6. Bank of ideas

Having studied the theoretical material, the history of the emergence and development of the issue, it was decided to make a product using the woodworking technique, with which it would be possible to make a stool from wood.

During the information gathering process, a number of options were considered:

1 Make a bench

2 Classic stool

3 Small bench

Having considered the three presented options, having studied their features, the need for materials and other components, it was decided: to manufacture the “Stool” product, taking option number two as a basis.

7. Draft study of the basic version

To decorate the stool and improve the aesthetic appearance, we decided to process the legs of the stool on lathe. The prolegs are also machined on a lathe. They decided to make the stool cover from a laminated chipboard, pasting the edge with a textured tape.

8. Product requirements

9. Design specification

10. Tools and equipment

In the manufacture of a stool above the specified design, it is necessary to use manual woodworking tools and equipment:

1. Carpentry workbench

2. Hacksaw

3. Planer

4. Drilling machine with drills

5. Lathe

11. Materials

In the manufacture of this product, it is best to use hardwood.

Hardwoods include: birch, beech, oak, elm, mountain ash, maple, walnut, apple, pear, ash, white acacia. From the above list of wood species for the manufacture of the product, we could use: birch, oak, pear and acacia. We do not use pear and acacia because there were no blanks of the required sizes in stock. And the preference for oak over birch was given because of the more beautiful texture and color of the wood.

12. Safety rules during work

The stool is made of pine wood. Manufacturing technique - artistic wood processing. The product is varnished. The design of the product is reliable and stable. The seat is rectangular. The legs of the stool are not high, so it can be used as a footstool, and so that you can sit when you peel potatoes, for example, or put on your shoes. This beautiful original chair can become a decoration of any kitchen and be useful.

Selection and justification of the project topic

The house in which we live, work and relax should be comfortable, cozy and, of course, beautiful. To achieve this, there is no need to spend a lot of money, a lot can be done with your own hands.Wood for me is the most available material, which gives a wide opportunity for creative activity for the manufacture of original products in a school workshop. I have already made a few for my homedecorative items: cutting board, bookshelf, shoe rack.Unusual handmade products will not only bring warmth to the house and decorate the interior - they will give a piece of a fairy tale that will stay with us forever.

After studying the needs of my family, I came to the conclusion that we need a low stool in the kitchen.

I put in front of me target :

design and manufacture a beautiful and inexpensive stool from wood.

While working on the project, I decided the following tasks:

    to develop an economical, technologically advanced, durable and robust design wood products;

    develop a simple technological process making a stool based on the studied wood processing technologies using equipment that I already know how to work with;

produce a product according to the technical documentation for a limited time.

When choosing a project topic, I took into account:

    my skill level.

    Necessity for me, work done.

The cost of purchasing materials and tools in the course of work on the project.

The amount of time required to complete the project.

Expected Result

So, the issue is resolved! I'm making a stool for the kitchen! That's just what? What to make the legs, the shape of the seat? What decor to use? On the Internet, I found several options for chairs that could suit me.

Having considered all the options, having studied their features, the need for materials and other components, it was decided: to make a stool with solid legs. You should get a beautiful, original product that can decorate any kitchen and be useful for many years.

Historical reference

Wooden art products are household items that organically combine beauty and usefulness. These include jewelry wooden houses - carved architraves, valances, skates on roofs; decorative elements in the interior - parquet floors, carved decorations of doors, ceilings, wall panels, etc.; furniture and lamps; household utensils - dishes, cutting boards; wooden Toys and souvenirs (turned, carved, painted); clothing embellishments, etc.

Artistic products made of wood, in addition to expressive proportions, colors, shapes, often have some kind of decoration: an ornament or a revealed texture of the material. Modern artists of decorative and applied arts - folk, professional, amateur - in search of forms and means of artistic expression rely on the age-old traditions of national and world art.

Artistic processing of wood is one of the oldest crafts mastered by man. In our country, especially in Russia, wooden architecture, , furniture, various household items made of wood belong to one of the most important types of art and occupy a significant place in the national culture of the people.

Choice of material, tools, equipment

Having made a choice of the object of labor, I began to collect information about similar products manufactured by enterprises: materials used, sizes, types of designs, prices. For this purpose, I visited the shops, the market. But I did not find such a chair. Therefore, he himself chose the material, developed the design and method of manufacture.

Choice of wood. In the manufacture of this product, I used pine.Pine is the cheapest and most pliable material, bars and boards from it are used in the manufacture of many products.

The choice of self-tapping screws for assembly and varnish. The stool is intended for use inside a heated room, so I decided to use self-tapping screws to connect its parts..

Coating with varnish allows you to protect the surface of the product from moisture penetration and decay. I chose alkyd varnish brand PF-283

Tools and equipment:

1. When making a stool, hand tools are needed: a hacksaw, a hammer, a center punch, a mallet, a planer.

2. The stool seat and legs are shaped, so it is better to cut them with an electric jigsaw.

3. Drilling holes can be done conveniently and quickly on a drilling machine.

4. For decorative finishes chair seat edges and legs are used manual frezer, as it is difficult to do it manually and takes a lot of time.

Environmental justification of the project

Natural wood products are environmentally friendly. They do not harm the environment and are fully recyclable. The use of production waste in the manufacturethe tsarg of the chair will avoid their disposalwhich contributes to environmental pollution. The varnish has a state certificate and is approved for use.

During the manufacture of the product, the following work may be dangerous:

    Drilling, sawing, surface cleaning (wood dust);

    Decorative finish (varnish smell)

If the safety regulations (work uniform, goggles, respirator, ventilation) are followed, these hazards are very small.

The product is also safe to use. Therefore, the manufacture and use of this product will not lead to violations of the ecological environment of society.

Economic justification of the project

Cost of utilities (electricity costs when working with an electric jigsaw, milling machine, drilling machine) Total operating timeis approximately 2 hoursequal to the consumption of electrical energy in 4 kW. 2.26x 4 \u003d 9.04 rubles.

The cost of depreciation of equipment is not significant, it can be neglected.

The cost of a stool: 149 rubles

Conclusion: having studied the market conjecture, I came to the conclusion that the price of my product is significantly lower than the market price. Therefore, it is profitable to make products yourself.

To do this, I made templates from packaging cardboard according to the pattern. Self-Assessment I made my own multifunctional stool and prepared to defend my creative project. In the course of production, I became more confident in working with electrical and hand tools. When developing design and technological documentation, I needed the help of a teacher, for whom I applied and received it. In the process of working on the project, I began to understand drawing better and perform many operations on a personal computer. The finished product turned out to be beautiful, comfortable and of course multifunctional. The cost of the stool was 641.5 rubles. In addition, the family budget saved 400 rubles on the difference between the cost of buying and manufacturing. I coped with the task and I am pleased that it turned out to be an excellent multifunctional stool, which my relatives also liked. (See Appendix - Testimonials)

Gradually, he began to take, albeit remotely, a modern look.

The traditional wooden chair most commonly uses four-legged designs, but you can find examples that have only three legs.

To decorate the stool and improve the aesthetic appearance, we decided to process the legs of the stool on a lathe.
