Recently, more and more people are buying cottages or houses in the private sector, but not everyone has the opportunity to purchase a security system with alarms, sensors, security calls, but everyone wants to keep their property from uninvited guests. And for this you need to have video cameras, security and other special devices Of course, if there is a financial opportunity, they do so, but what else to do? Then install the intercom in a private house, which will help prevent an uninvited guest from entering the property.

Kinds

Devices for a country mansion are different. Any of them makes it possible to talk with a person who has approached the possessions, and if necessary, open the door for him, which is done by simply pressing a button.

The most economical device is considered an audio intercom. It does not have a monitor and camera, and therefore it is not possible to see who has come, but since the device is equipped with a microphone, you can simply hear the voice of the guest. Therefore, such a device is not particularly convenient, and many acquire a design equipped with a video camera, which helps not only to hear, but also to see the guest who has arrived.

A modern intercom for a private house is supplied with additional options:

  • Answering machine - if the owner of the mansion is not at home, then this function makes it possible to listen to the recordings left by the guest or receive them on a cell phone;
  • Motion sensor - fixing the visitor in the area of the device, before pressing the "Call". As soon as a person appears, the image is immediately transmitted to the TV screen, since the device is connected to it;
  • Memory block - recording images from the moment the bell is pressed. The recording is several minutes long, and if the memory is full, the old one is automatically erased and replaced by a new one.

The design is also different, which depends on the desire and ability of the owner. There is a device with one, two, four or more monitors, one camera with blocks, and wireless intercoms are also installed in a private house, which make it possible to see and hear a person approaching the door.

A few words about installation

If this action is performed by an inexperienced person, then after some time this design may fail, and the lock will also be blocked.

With improper and poor-quality installation, any model (simple or expensive) will not give the desired result, which will affect its operation.

In the event that they live in a gated community, where all visits are regulated by security and an administrator at the checkpoint, then communication with them is organized using an intercom that is connected to the checkpoint.

The device panel, which is mounted at the entrance (gate or gate), is made of a material that can withstand any climatic conditions, rain, wind. The call panel can be metal or plastic (the cost of the device depends on this), which operates at temperature drops from -20 ° C to +60 ° C.

Instruction

Consider how the intercom is installed in a private house, with your own hands:

  • Determine the location of the monitor, it is better to mount it next to the electrical panel;
  • To pull the cable to the door, strobes are made in the ceiling, for which an electric drill with a nozzle is used. After laying the wires and checking the operation of the intercom, the grooves are covered with putty and allowed to dry;
  • At eye level, on the wall, install a bracket to fix the monitor, try on and mount the outlet;
  • The display is connected to the wires, for this they press the contact with a screwdriver, insert the core and remove the tool. The cable is clamped automatically, since a spring is mounted here, but before that, the wires are stripped and tinned. Next, the connections are made according to the following scheme: the yellow wire goes to the audio, the green one together with the screen is considered common, the red one is for 12 V, and the white one goes to the screen, to the video;
  • After all the wires are connected, the cable is stretched and the strobes on the ceiling are closed, the monitor is hung in the allocated place;
  • The system is mounted: for this, a special lock is installed, the tongue of which turns in any direction and therefore it does not matter how and in which direction the door can be opened;
  • An electromechanical lock is better than an electromagnetic one in that in the event of a power outage, it continues to work properly. From the side of the room, it is opened with a button, and from the outside - you need a key or a voltage pulse, but this does not waste a lot of electricity;
  • The lock is fixed on the non-opening part of the door, and the answer on the opening one, taking into account the fact that the camera is placed at a distance of 150 cm from the floor. Holes are drilled in the marked places and the panel is screwed;
  • And the lock cylinder is mounted outside (if the electricity suddenly turns off, then with its help it will be possible to open the door);
  • All cables are led out with a flexible connection, so that if necessary it is possible to open the door;
  • There are two controllers in the call panel, one controls the lock, and the other reads information, so the first requires a 12 V power supply (stabilized). It is connected to a lamp (energy-saving) and mounted on the wall, directly under the ceiling;
  • Install the door closer, adjust the slamming of the door and close the cover of the device;
  • Carefully, by twisting, connect all the wires, and use cambric (heat-shrinkable) for insulation;
  • Further, according to the instructions, access keys are recorded in memory and the entire system is checked.

If we consider the intercom kit for a private house, you can see that it includes: a display, two cameras, brackets, a power supply, instructions. Moreover, the monitor can be mounted on the wall or set on the table. Some elements of video surveillance have to be purchased separately, these are: a universal, electronic lock, an anti-vandal outdoor panel with a video camera (color) for four subscribers, a contactor, a power supply for the panel (12 V, 3 A), a cable, a socket.

Conclusion

In order to install a video intercom with high quality, you need to know all the subtleties and nuances of this craft, but if they don’t understand this matter, then they turn to specialists who will not only help with installing the device, but also advise which model to purchase.

During the operation of the intercom, sometimes there are problems in the system that can be fixed on your own, but if they don’t understand non-power cables, then you need to invite professionals who will fix everything in a matter of hours.

Recently, to protect their property, intercoms have been installed at the entrance to a private house or on the doors of apartment buildings. Having such a device, an unwanted guest cannot enter a house or apartment without your knowledge. Installing an intercom with your own hands is not such a difficult task. For self-assembly there are several connection schemes, here we will consider the most commonly used configurations.

The difference between a video intercom and an ordinary intercom is that when you call the video intercom, the function of transmitting an image from the street is turned on in the place where the surveillance cameras are installed. Thus, the owner of the house can not only hear, but also see the visitor - this is an important aspect if we consider the safety of the life of the residents or the house itself. Do-it-yourself video intercom installation technical parameters not much different from installing a standard audio intercom.

Any modern intercom system must fulfill its main functions and purposes:

  • dialing from the street to the premises;
  • high-quality two-way communication between the visitor at the entrance and the owner of the house or apartment;
  • availability of video communication;
  • the possibility of remote opening the lock on the front door.

The principle of installing an intercom in a private house

How to install an intercom: types of devices

This convenient means of communication is of two types:

  • wired,
  • wireless.

Wireless analogues are installed quickly, without much effort, after which they are immediately ready for use. Such systems are connected to a conventional electrical outlet or are powered by a small battery. To install a wireless intercom, a system is selected with the required number of substations that are connected to a power outlet or battery, after which the setting is made according to the attached instructions. After all the manipulations, the device can be used.

Special mention should be made of possible problems, which you may encounter if you opt for a wireless model.

For wireless intercoms, the main “disease” is the loss of communication with the monitoring device due to interference that can be created by powerful Wi-Fi routers and other wireless radio devices. Therefore, it is extremely important to take into account all these factors when tuning, choosing frequencies. Also, if the house has security service with its radio communication, this is another reason that interferes with the operation of a wireless intercom.

The undoubted "plus" of wired intercoms is that they do not require recharging, they are not in danger of shutting down if the owner forgets about them for some reason. The wired system is best laid during repair work.

If the decision to install an intercom with your own hands came much later, then you will have to deal with all the features of the cables that go from the main station to the substations.

How to connect an intercom: basic examples of circuits

Do-it-yourself connection schemes are divided into three categories:

  • high complexity,
  • complex,
  • ordinary.

Very complex schemes are usually used in houses with many apartments.

A more simplified version involves connecting an intercom and a lock into one circuit.

The so-called third type of circuits is extremely simple, a person with even basic skills in electrics will be able to deal with it.

Connecting an intercom in a multi-storey building is a complex scheme, which should also be mentioned as an example of connecting a large number of devices to one network. Such global systems have a high cost, which is why they are installed through the general monetary investments of all residents of the house.

Intercom connection diagram for apartment building

The diagram below for connecting an intercom with an electric lock is considered standard for the equipment of communication systems in private homes.

Standard scheme for an intercom with an electrically controlled lock

By means of this scheme, the intercom and the door (gate) electric lock are most often connected to a common circuit.

Knowledge of the basic fundamentals in electrics is quite enough to implement self connection intercom.

Thus, the receiver itself is located in the room, a pair of cables is laid from it - three-core and four-core. A three-core wire is necessary when additional installation of a video surveillance camera is implied. Also, a single multi-core cable can serve as an alternative, in which case you will have to coordinate the connection of the video intercom by the color of the cores. The cores are connected in turn, according to the diagram. Additionally, through a step-down power supply, power should be supplied to the image sensor and the intercom entry panel.

The example of the following circuit is quite simple. A lock is not provided here; do-it-yourself intercom connection is provided using four wires.

simple circuit intercom connection without using a lock

Thus, coordination is made between the outdoor call unit and the indoor response unit. Two cables are responsible for the power supply, the other two are responsible for the audio and video signal. The contacts of the indoor and outdoor units are interconnected by a separate wire, which makes it possible to see and hear what is happening outside the gate.

Do-it-yourself intercom installation: sequence of work

Whichever connection scheme you choose, the installation technology, the sequence of work look about the same. You can imagine the whole process in the following steps:

  1. Cabling.
  2. Installation of the outdoor intercom unit.
  3. Installation indoor unit.
  4. Wire switching.

The laying of the cable that will connect the outdoor and indoor units of the intercom is carried out in the most convenient route for you. Indoors, the wire is routed through strobes or cable channels.

Before you install an intercom in a private house, you need to decide on the method of laying outdoors. On the street, air laying based on a tension cable or underground is used.

As for the external method, here it is necessary to take into account the possibility of a wire break when strong winds, as well as being hit by lightning during a thunderstorm. Underground laying is more appropriate, since with proper wire protection, compliance with the PUE (electrical installation rules), the system will work without interruptions or malfunctions.

Underground cable must have reliable protection(sheath) from moisture, mechanical damage. For these purposes, wires VVG, PVS, ShVVP are suitable.

Underground wires

The depth of the underground cable should be at least 0.75 m. Also, as an additional protection, you can use a HDPE corrugated hose or a special tube.

At this stage, you should take care of the set of tools that you will need when installing the device:

  • construction knife;
  • insulating tape;
  • electric drill;
  • pliers;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • dowel;
  • screwdriver;
  • a special nozzle for an electric drill (for chasing walls);
  • alabaster;
  • pencil;
  • level;
  • voltmeter.

Installation of the outdoor unit of the intercom is carried out in any place convenient for you. More often it is an entrance gate or a fence post near the gate. From a practical point of view, it is not recommended to install an intercom on a gate, since its regular opening and closing leads to rapid wear and subsequent cable breakage.

The fence post, which is located at the entrance gate, looks like a more attractive prospect. For reliability and long-term operation, it is better to place the unit inside a niche specially made for this. A special box is initially installed in it, and the block itself is already placed in it. The specifics of the work resembles the installation of a conventional electrical outlet and a socket, where all the necessary wires are displayed.

If the presence of an additional video camera and / or an electrically controlled lock is implied, then five more wires are output to the installation box. Two wires will supply electricity to the outdoor unit and the lock system, the remaining three will work for an additional surveillance camera. These three wires are connected to the indoor unit, but they can also be passed by the box of the outdoor unit, directly connected to the installation site of the video camera.

Intercom connection

Installation of the intercom indoor unit is facilitated by the fact that it does not require a built-in (hidden) installation. The block itself is something like a video phone, which you only need to securely fix (hang) in a pre-selected, convenient place for you. This unit includes two parts - a video phone and a power supply, which can be optionally equipped with a battery. The double block can be placed in any desired place, taking into account the laying of wires from it to the videophone. A thin 12V cable is fine for this purpose.

Intercom indoor unit

Before you connect a video intercom, you need to thoroughly study the attached diagram, understand the principles of switching wires.

If this is your first time encountering a similar question, you may naturally have difficulties. However, it is worth noting that almost all manufacturers of such equipment always attach to the device detailed diagram connections, where all connection points, terminals, their functions are described.

At this stage, the main thing is not to confuse the wires and methodically connect one wire at a time. For example, take a wire of blue color, brought it to the terminal of the external, and then the internal unit, followed by the wire of the next color. The connection is made until the moment when all the wiring is connected to the places indicated in the diagram, after which the device is checked for capability.

Wire connection

conclusions

When choosing a place to install the indoor unit, make sure that it is always in sight, or, as they say, at hand. In most cases, it is mounted where the owner spends the most time. You can often see intercoms in the hallway.

If you carefully study the technical documents attached to the device, study the connection diagrams, then installing an intercom with your own hands will not be difficult for you.

However, difficult security systems specialists should be engaged, in such cases the interaction of a large team of adjusters with experience, thorough knowledge of the technical base is required.

This article will discuss how to properly install an intercom. Many apartment owners have already installed this useful device and appreciated it. We will not delve into its merits or the principle of operation, we only note that if you intend to install an intercom, but do not know where to start, then you should read this article to the end.

First, you should familiarize yourself with the key points. Calling device intercom is equipped outside and is intended to call one of the tenants and negotiate. Some modern models are designed for two or even several subscribers, and also combine different access control options.

Intercom is no less important protection against unwanted penetration than a strong door

The intercom itself is installed indoors and is intended for a conversation with a visitor. The simplest version of the device is an audio tube.

Note! There is more difficult option intercom - a video intercom that allows you not only to negotiate with visitors, but also to see them.

Before installing the intercom, you should acquire all necessary tools. The job may require:

The choice of one or another set depends entirely on financial capabilities. Yes, most simple option is audio communication equipment, consisting of a ringing device and a “telephone” handset and allowing only remote conversation with the visitor.

The video intercom mentioned above is more expensive. It can be of two types:

  • black and white;
  • colored.

Most of the current video intercoms support multiple communication channels and allow you to connect three or four additional cameras that expand the viewing angle.

Almost all intercoms make it possible to control electric combination locks.

Stage 1. Choosing a place for installation

Not only the viewing angle, but also the convenience of operating the equipment as a whole depends on where the caller is installed. Often, such a device is installed from the side of the door opening at a height of 1.5-1.6 m from the floor.

Note! If we are talking about a video intercom, then the preferred installation height is exactly 1.6 m, since the viewing angle of a standard camera often varies between 70-75ᵒ vertically and 80-90ᵒ horizontally. This feature must be taken into account when choosing a place.

With regards to the intercom itself, it can be installed in any suitable place. The main thing is that the call signal should be heard in all rooms.

Stage 2. Laying electrical wiring

This is one of the most important stages of installation, because the stability of all equipment depends on the quality of the wiring. One of the three specified cable options is suitable for this:

  • "twisted pair";
  • communication signal wire;
  • telephone cable.

A cable with a length of 35-40 m (no more) is taken and is led from the calling device. Of course, strobing the walls of the staircase entrance is undesirable, so the wiring is carried out along the walls and fixed with special fasteners. At the same time, it is recommended to avoid high voltage power cables, as they can cause interference in the circuit or even destroy all equipment. At best, the quality of the audio or video signal will deteriorate.

Note! When installing an electric lock in the door, a power cable is laid in parallel. It can be carried out from the call to the door or from it to the intercom - it all depends on the chosen connection scheme.

Also, 220 V power is supplied to all modules of the system.

Stage 3. Installation of an intercom in the apartment

After a competent preparatory work this stage will not cause any difficulties, the main thing is to follow the instructions clearly.

Step 1.

Step 2. The place where you want to install the intercom is marked, the fastening points are determined by the building level.

Step 3. Holes are made in the appropriate places for the screws (in most cases there are no more than three), which are necessary for attaching the fixing metal plate. At the same time, it should be remembered that in concrete walls dowels are installed first, and only then the screws themselves.

Step 5. The stripped ends are attached to the connecting terminals - this is necessary not only for the strength of the fastening, but also for safety.

Step 6

Step 7. The system connects to the network. If the wires are connected correctly, then everything should work.

Video - Intercom Installation

Note! The installation technology described below refers to an intercom installed directly near the apartment, but not outside.

To install a video intercom you will need:

  • socket;
  • monitor;
  • cable with a cross section of 0.22x4 mm;
  • bracket;
  • a pair of technical boxes - 2.5x1.6 cm and 1x1.6 cm;
  • electronic lock;
  • liquid Nails;
  • cambric;
  • 12 V power supply;
  • panel for calling (with a camera and, if possible, anti-vandal).

The sequence of actions should be as follows.

Step 1. First, a place for the monitor is determined. Due to the fact that power will be supplied to the monitor, it is desirable to fix it on the wall near the electrical panel.

Step 2. The cable is pulled to the door.

Step 3. In a pre-selected place, a bracket for mounting the monitor is attached to the wall. For convenience, the monitor is mounted at eye level.

Step 4. The panel is removed from the shield, after which liquid nails a socket is attached and cables are connected: one to the phase through the machine, the second to the neutral bus.

Note! In the absence of a free machine, it is necessary to install a new one, especially for a video intercom.

Step 5. For laying wires in the hall, a 1x1.6 cm box is attached, then the wires from the power supply and video surveillance are pulled.

Step 6. The monitor is hung up, wires are connected to it (according to the instructions):

  • white for video;
  • green for monitor (common);
  • yellow for sound;
  • red for +12 W.

In most cases, such monitors are equipped with spring contacts: they are pressed, the cable is inserted and released - the contact is clamped. All wires are pre-cleaned.

If there is no detailed diagram in the instructions, it can always be found on the Internet.

Step 7. Next is the installation of the lock. It is advisable to choose electromagnetic, because it is able to function even without electricity. From the inside, the lock will be opened with a mechanical button, and from the outside - with an electromagnetic key.

The lock is installed on the non-opening side door leaf, “answer” - on the opening one, but in such a way that the camera is one and a half meters from the floor (maximum - 1.6 m). Holes are made in the door to mount the camera, then screws marked "MB" are used. Openings are closed with decorative plugs.

Step 8. Then a closer is installed to adjust the speed of closing the door. By means of the adjusting screws, the “finishing” speed is set, after which the closer is closed with a lid.

Step 9. Controllers are installed. Usually they come in pairs - one controls the lock, the second controls the Touch Memory reader (for opening with an electromagnetic key). The last option allows you to install such videophones in apartment buildings, but with a preliminary reading of all the keys to the entrance.

The power supply (necessarily stabilized) is connected to an energy-saving lamp and mounted under the ceiling.

Step 10. All wires are connected (the good old “twisting” method) and insulated with heat shrink tubing.

Video - Connecting a video intercom

Price and other important points

Despite the seeming simplicity of the steps described above, installing an intercom requires a lot of time and effort. Moreover, when working, you need to be extremely careful, because even the most trifling mistake can affect the quality of video or audio signals. Therefore, it is better to entrust the installation to professionals.

First, the contractor sends a specialist to inspect the apartment, make measurements and draw up a rough estimate. There are many factors that affect the cost of installation work, but the main one is the type of dwelling.

In this case, the installation procedure will be as follows.

  1. After drawing up the estimate, a contract is concluded, which details the obligations of the two parties.
  2. Next, the installation is carried out, after which the client checks the operability of the system.
  3. Before leaving, an employee of the company must instruct the client, tell him about all the nuances of operation. He also provides a warranty card and all related documentation.

conclusions

An intercom is a great way to protect your home from thieves and uninvited guests. It allows you to watch everything that happens outside without leaving the premises. At the same time, the main factor determining the stable and reliable operation of the device is precisely the competent installation. You can do the work yourself, but in the absence of experience or minimal knowledge in the field of radio engineering, it is better to turn to specialists.

And in conclusion, another useful video.

Video - Do-it-yourself intercom key

Video intercoms are a special option for input phones, which, in addition to listening, additionally allow you to monitor a person. Their advantage is simple maintenance and a relatively reasonable price. In order to install a video intercom in an apartment with your own hands, you must first understand technical device equipment, as well as prepare necessary materials and tools.

The video recording phone offers more options than a regular intercom. Certainly not free the price of a video intercom is correspondingly higher.

The video intercom input setup includes an external panel (with or without a rain cover) with a call button, speaker, microphone and camera. An interior camera with a multi-inch monitor, a door release button, buttons for additional functions and knobs for adjusting the sharpness and brightness of the image.

A miniature camera with a large viewing angle is placed in a cassette with a door station, and a miniature monitor is installed inside the building. It can be color or black and white. The camera is usually turned on by pressing a button on the door station. In some video intercoms, it can be activated by pressing the button next to the intercom. In addition to the miniature monitor, you can connect an additional monitor or even a TV to the intercom.

The video data block may record images. When we are not at home and the camera is started by pressing a button, it will transfer the recorded image to memory along with the date and time it was recorded. This way you can see what kind of guests you have when you return.

There are also more technically advanced systems. After activating the corresponding function in the video intercom, the camera automatically registers the image during our absence, remembering it at certain intervals - this is called monitoring. Devices equipped with infrared cameras, allow you to observe the area without additional lighting, even at night.

Design

Available on the market various models intercoms. The simplest are analog systems. The advantage of this solution is the relatively low installation cost. However, due to the large number of cables, they are especially recommended for installation in single-family houses x, where one uniphone (headphone) is usually located.

Their disadvantage is low comfort of use and interruption of work when the phone is not properly installed. That's why most people who are interested in the idea of entering a phone decide on a digital system. It consists of a central unit and microphones equipped with decoders, on which an access code is opened, which opens the gate or door.

digital system can be connected to the telephone system and monitoring. There are also mixed systems - analog-digital, in which uniphones are connected to a digital intercom. The door can be opened with a code or a code card.

radio controlled systems

The most convenient are radio controlled systems. Their great advantage is the ability to open the door with a special remote control from any part of the house, range 400 m, it is possible to use multiple headphones to control the input.

videophone- This is a special version of intercoms, additionally equipped with a camera. In addition to listening, a person can also observe the caller. The camera is located in a cassette board, and a special monitor is installed in the uniphone. After pressing the button on the door station, the camera automatically turns on. An additional function of the videophone is the ability to record images away from home.

Basic elements

video door entry panel

uniphone - phone- it looks like a phone, but does not have a dial; uniphone allows you to contact the person at the door or gate; has a button to open the electric lock;

intercom- it is installed outside the house at the entrance or fence; has the buttons or business cards needed to call right person; inside the cassette there is a loudspeaker and a microphone; you can insert the cassette by placing it in the wall or on the wall; it is usually made of aluminum, steel or brass;

power supply for input telephone- it connects all elements of the system; supply voltage 12 V;

cassette with electronic system- the amplifier is responsible for the corresponding voice volume, the acoustic generator activates the electromagnetic lock when the call button is pressed;

electric lock (electric drive)- fits in a door frame or gate;

wires– connecting elements of the intercom; air ducts must be properly insulated and have an appropriate cross section; telemechanical or telecommunication cables are the most suitable for this purpose.

Important Points

And now - the promised seven points that you should definitely pay attention to, regardless of whether you spend installation work with your own hands or contact the master. This is your checklist, which should be in your head. Well, or in front of your eyes, written down on a piece of paper. Go!

1. Choose a video intercom location that you have easy access to. When we find a panel in a hallway or in another room where we often stop or have easy access to, it will be much more convenient for us to use the videophone. It is also worth paying attention to the fact that the videophone monitor is installed at the most convenient level for residents. Visibility of the LCD screen at the correct angle.

2. Cables must meet the requirements specified in the manufacturer's instructions (corresponding number of wires, appropriate cross-section, reinforcement). Using multi-core telephone wires is a fairly common build error. Remember that they are very resistant to mechanical damage, they are also not suitable for laying outside, in the ground, even in a protective tube. We must also remember that we must not place cables in easily accessible places. Ideally, if they are shielded, insulated so that they are not subject to mechanical damage or flooding.

3. It must be possible to open the door in an emergency- if we do not foresee such a possibility, it may turn out that after an accidental slamming of the entrance or loss of the keys, we will not reach our house. It is worth installing an additional hidden opening button, especially at the gate. It can also be an external panel with coded access. Input telephone setting

4. Adaptation of the place for mounting the external panel of the intercom or videophone. A mistake, or rather a serious problem, is to install interconnects or videophones in old houses without first preparing niches and places for assembling and protecting wires. The problem arises especially in old houses or their fences. The installation of an intercom or videophone should be planned immediately, still at the stage of installing a house or a fence. Then we can, for example, in a brick rack or at the entrance, make special niches for the panel, an electromagnetic latch and prepare a space for wires. Thanks to this, you can avoid uncomfortable walls. Usually you need to run the wires inside the walls (controlling the hitch) even if you have a wireless intercom model.

5. Keep the lighting right- this can refer both to the place in front of the gate, and to the entrance to the house. Usually videophones are equipped with diodes that allow you to receive an image even in the dark, but they usually have a small range. Therefore, it is worth adding an additional lamp that turns on after dark, shedding light on people entering. It can be activated using the intercom call button. The lens of the videophone must not be exposed to direct sun rays because the resulting image will be very blurry. It is worth thinking about connecting to the installation, as well as the function of turning on the lighting of the house, especially when it is quite long. Useful twilight sensor and timer, which limits the time of lighting.

6. Pay special attention to cable routing. The cable connecting the internal and external panel of the intercom or videophone must meet the requirements of the device model (number of cores, minimum cross section, possibly need for shielding). Often, multi-core telephone lines are used for this purpose, which - due to their low mechanical strength - should not be placed directly in the ground, but lead into a protective tube.

An equally good, albeit more expensive, solution is to use power cable type YkY, e.g. 3 x 1.5 mm2.

When planning the route of the pipeline, it must be remembered that it will not be in a place where the surface will harden. Possible connections are made in airtight jars at a height that is not prone to flooding.

7. Provide a fence for the call panel. If you plan to install an intercom or video intercom, it is worth adapting to the installation of an external panel during the construction phase. This is especially important for gate posts. brickwork. When placing the pillars, niches should be made in them under the panel, thanks to which we will avoid cutting the bricks.

Installation

Required Tools

To get started, you will need the following set of tools:

  • drill
  • set of drills
  • Screwdriver Set
  • pliers
  • assembly knife
  • multimeter
  • calipers
  • Bokarevs
  • hammer
  • round nose pliers
  • chisel
  • crimping pliers

Assembly

Before assembly (if necessary):

  1. Make a trench between the door station installation and the house.
  2. Put the cable cover on.
  3. Accurately measure the required length of cables connecting the uniphone to the door station.
  4. Pull the wires through the cover, leaving an additional 20 cm without the cover (taking into account the entire length, not just the underground part).

Video intercom connection diagram

To ensure optimal performance of the device, do not connect electric wires between door station and uniphone.

If the cable is already installed, check the number of wires before purchasing the intercom.

Station setup

Contact order

  1. Specify the location of the door station cassette on the pole or on the wall. The cassette must be installed at a height of 1.60 m above the ground.
  2. Mounting Models: Mark the location of the dowels, drill holes and place the pins in them.
  3. Wall Models: Mark the location of the hole and draw the outline of the cassette recessed into the wall.
  4. Cut a hole for the cassette (mounted model) with a chisel and the entire length of the cable cover.
  5. Place the cassette in the hole and attach it to the mortar.
  6. Place the cable cover in the forged groove and support it with a few nails (be careful not to pierce the cover).
  7. Wet the furrow with water and fill it with mortar, removing the nails as you work.
  8. Remove excess solution, leave dry.
  9. Locate the wiring locations on the cassette board.

The presence of an intercom has long been an indispensable condition for ensuring the comfort of a modern apartment. The main purpose of these devices is to enable homeowners to receive calls from visitors and open doors remotely. Intercoms have proven to be much more convenient than outdated combination locks. Let's find out how to connect the handset of the apartment intercom on your own.

Types of modern intercoms

For reliable identification of visitors, an audio or video intercom is used. The latter is more often installed in private cottages and was created for additional visual control of the space in front of front door. As for urban apartments in high-rise buildings, they often install an audio option, the design of which includes the following elements:

  • A handset that is equipped with buttons for accepting a call and opening an input electromagnetic or electromechanical lock. The device is installed by a company providing intercom installation and maintenance services. If such devices were not installed during the equipment of the entrance in some apartments, it is possible to install them yourself. You can also use the services of a specialist service company.
  • Call panel equipped with a dial pad with numbers, which allows the visitor to signal the intercom handset by pressing the required code, usually the apartment number. In addition, there is a reader on the panel, with which you can use a special key to open an electromagnetic lock blocking the entrance doors.
  • Locking device with power supply. The most common type of lock today is electromagnetic. Until recently, electromechanical latches equipped with sliding mechanisms were found everywhere. Such devices are often present in the entrances of apartment buildings even now. To operate the remote-controlled unit, you must use a constant voltage of 12 or 24 V.
  • Switch. This device is designed to transmit a signal from the call panel to the subscriber handset of a particular apartment.

Depending on the type of signal processing, digital and analog intercoms are distinguished.

Important! Receiving devices are used for digital and analog models various types. Before purchasing such a device, you should definitely find out what type is installed in the entrance.

Digital intercom

To connect devices of this type, only a cable with two cores is used, through which an encoded signal is transmitted. The handset installed in the apartment, the number of which was dialed on the call panel, responds to the signal. To set the correspondence between the dialed code and the handset, special jumpers are used - jumpers - which bridge the necessary contacts in the response device.

To correctly program the handset, the jumpers are placed between the numbered terminals so that the sum of the digits is equal to the apartment number.

The advantages of such intercoms include ease of installation and connection of new subscribers.

The main disadvantage of such equipment is the influence of each tube on the operation of the entire system. When replacing a device, which is carried out due to its breakdown, as well as when connecting new subscribers, it is extremely importance It has correct installation jumpers.

Attention! In the event of a digital tube connection error or a short circuit in the lead wires, the system may malfunction.

Currently, to partially eliminate this drawback, floor controllers are used, which allow localizing a malfunction within one level.

Another disadvantage of digital intercoms is their relative high cost, which does not allow these devices to be widely used.

Analog installations use a coordinate matrix connection and work on the principle of a telephone exchange. An additional element of such a system is a switch, which processes and analyzes the signal, as well as redirects it to a specific subscriber.

Two buses are used to connect the intercom handset to the switch. Contacts of the first of them (D0–D9) correspond to tens, and the second (E0–E9) to units. Thus, in order to connect an intercom to an apartment, the number of which, for example, is 74, you need:

  • connect the conductor from the positive terminal of the subscriber tube to the contact corresponding to the number 7 on the tens bus;
  • the conductor adjacent to the negative terminal - to the contact corresponding to the number 4 on the unit bus.

In the considered connection option, a device designed to serve up to 100 subscribers was used. There are models that can work with a large number of numbers, but their principle of operation is no different from that discussed above.

Connection order

The sequence of actions will be as follows:

  1. At the first stage of work, the location of the intercom handset is selected, then it is fixed on the wall using quick installation.
  2. Next, the installation location of the switch is determined (for analog intercoms). On each floor, they are installed in a junction box for low-current circuits. All of them are connected in parallel, which greatly simplifies the installation process. In the general case, only one switch per entrance is enough, however, when using such a scheme, it is necessary to stretch wires from the apartments of the upper floors to the installation site of the device.
  3. After removing the protective cover of the switch, the terminals corresponding to tens and ones are determined, then the connection is made, so that the sum of the numbers of these contacts shows the serial number of the apartment.
  4. Wires are connected to the tube. It is extremely important to respect the polarity. The positive terminal is connected to the contact of the switch corresponding to tens, the negative terminal - to units.

Important! If the polarity is not observed during the connection of the device of the coordinate matrix system, the operation of the devices of the entire entrance may be disrupted.

Thus, the installation of an intercom handset is not particularly difficult. However, before you start doing such work with your own hands, it is important to determine the type and brand of the device used, as well as the location of the switch and the connection diagram of subscribers.
