To begin with, I will fix two profile pipes inside the metal garage. A guide roller and a box will be attached to these pipes. In this example, the box will be mounted inside the garage. The profile pipe must be perfectly level. And here is the second profile pipe which is installed on the other side.

What are roller shutters made of?

Consider the composition of the roller shutter. This is directly a box with a lid, a roller shutter and two guides. In addition, the kit will include such a block for remote opening of the gate, springs for fastening the leaf to the shaft and decorative plastic caps that will close the holes in the places where the roller shutter guides are attached.

Remove the cover of the box and inspect the structure. Inside we see a shaft with rings on which the roller shutter curtain will be wound. Inside the shaft there is an electric motor, from which such a wire departs.

Gate installation

The drive of these roller shutters is additionally equipped with a device for emergency opening/closing of roller shutters in the absence of electricity. Unpack and inspect the guides. The features of these guides are that the edges are already bent at their ends for better glide of the canvas. Now insert the guide into the corresponding tabs on the box. In other designs, an additional plastic guide may be present here.

We'll do the same on the other side. The bend on the guides should look towards the shaft. We raise the box with guides and simply attach it to the frame of the gate. At this stage, it is important to make sure that the guides are installed strictly vertically, and the box is strictly horizontal. To do this, we use the usual level. Next, we will make the markup for fastening the guides.

On the left guide, I mark with a pencil the places for drilling closer to the left side. I will make the lower and upper holes at a distance of about 15 centimeters from the edge. For one rail, I will have 4 mounting holes. I will mount the guides on self-tapping screws with a press washer. Before drilling holes, check the level again. First, I use a drill with a diameter about the thickness of a self-tapping screw. I will drill both walls of the guide. Now, using a drill with a diameter of 1.8 millimeters, I drill out only the front wall of the guide. A self-tapping screw will be inserted through it, and then the hole will be closed with a decorative cap. I tighten the self-tapping screw with a press washer.

Drilling must be repeated for all marked places. It is sometimes convenient to prepare holes for the guides before installing the box. In addition, it is necessary to fix the box body itself on the left and right sides with a self-tapping screw.

Now you can remove the protective film from the guides and insert and insert the decorative caps into the holes.

From the end of the box, drill a hole to bring the motor cable out. Evenly distribute the rings along the length of the shaft.

At the next stage, it is necessary to carefully lead the roller shutter through the shaft into the guides. The canvas starts from the bottom strip. This is a rather laborious operation and it is desirable to have an assistant here. Next, traction springs are put on the upper edge of the web. They have special fasteners, so they are put on only in one position.

The springs also need to be evenly distributed over the canvas. Now we fix the edges of the spring into the perforation holes on the shaft. It is done in this way. Carefully fix each spring.

Now we can check the operation of the roller shutter electric drive. There are 4 wires coming from the motor. The yellow-green wire is ground. A combination of wires blue, brown and blue-black will make the motor rotate in one direction or another.

Thus, when connected to these contacts, the roller shutter curtain will be lowered or raised. Our roller shutters have a remote control unit. Let's consider its composition. Inside there is a box with a board, fasteners and insulating elements. The block antenna is made in the form of a flexible wire. For confident reception, it must be taken out of the box and aligned. The electrical board has terminals through which the connection will be made. Inside the remote control box there is detailed instructions by connection. All connection options are available in it.

At least one remote control is required to operate the remote control unit. Here's what it might look like.

To bind a new remote control to this control unit, you must enter it into the memory of this device. To do this, there is a button with the "P" icon. A long press on this button puts the device into the recording mode of a new remote control.

After pressing, the signal LED will light up. At this point, you must press the button on the remote control. This remote control is memorized and now it is possible to control the operation of roller shutters from it.

At the last stage, it is necessary to adjust the final position of the web. For this, the limit switches of the upper and lower positions are adjusted. Adjusting screws are scrolled with a regular hexagon. An arrow with a plus increases the duration of the rotation, and an arrow with a minus decreases the duration of the rotation in one direction or another. Adjustment is made at the included electric motor. The lower position is adjusted until it touches the floor, and in the upper position it is recommended to make one and a half strips of canvas.
