The composition of milk depends on the woman's proper nutrition, therefore it is necessary that the menu be varied and balanced. Food should be beneficial and enjoyable for mom and child!

The essence of feeding a nursing mother according to Komarovsky

The famous doctor Komarovsky in his books "The health of the child and the common sense of his relatives", "The beginning of your child's life", in numerous interviews and television programs gives nursing mothers advice on how to eat healthy and tasty. He offers a diet of foods that are beneficial for breastfeeding, and also lists prohibited foods that can harm a woman and a child. Based on the recommendations of Evgeny Olegovich, you can plan a menu for a nursing mother for months.

What you can't eat

Dr. Komarovsky reminds nursing mothers that onions and garlic affect the taste and smell of milk. Therefore, for the first time, up to three months, it is better to exclude these products from the diet.

For the period of breastfeeding, you must abandon:

Products to stimulate lactation

Thirty years ago, it was believed that to increase the production of breast milk, you need to drink a lot of tea diluted with milk. Now there is no unequivocal opinion on this issue among experts. Dr. Komarovsky recommends acting according to the situation.

In the end, if there is enough milk or it remains, then you should not drink anything on purpose, against your will. But in a situation where the amount of milk does not satisfy the baby, each feeding should end with the fact that after putting the baby to bed, go to the kitchen, where an "orphan" mug with a volume of 0.3-0.5 liters awaits you.

By the way, night feeding should not be an exception, so it is advisable to prepare tea (compote) in a thermos in advance, so that you do not fuss in vain sleepily.

E.O. Komarovsky

Evgeny Olegovich believes that the optimal drinks for nursing mothers are:

  • green tea with milk and sugar;
  • compote of dried apricots, dried apples, raisins;
  • juices (apple, grape, carrot);
  • cow's milk and fermented milk products.

In his book "Child's health and common sense of his relatives" Dr. Komarovsky specifies that juices should be consumed in moderation; choose milk with a fat content of not more than 2.5%, drink it boiled or melted. Do not forget about clean water, drink at least 3-4 glasses daily.

Evgeny Olegovich advises women not to overestimate the importance of products and drugs that increase the amount of milk.

Believe me, a healthy child and a mother who sleeps at night, who is not nervous and does not twitch over trifles, contribute to the production of a sufficient amount of milk in a noticeable to a greater extentthan all food and medicine combined.

Nutrition for a nursing mother by month

Evgeny Olegovich did not compile or publish any strict table of nutrition for a nursing mother for months. The diet suggested below is compiled using the recommendations of Dr. Komarovsky, which he gives in his books, articles, television interviews, answers to written questions posted on the website of a famous pediatrician.

Evgeny Komarovsky urges mothers to put food on the correct basis already at the very beginning of feeding. It is good if a woman prepares a menu for herself and works it out for several months in advance.

First ten days of feeding

In the first ten days of a baby's life, you cannot eat fatty meat (pork, lamb) and broths based on them. They increase the fat content of mother's milk and an immature baby requires increased efforts when sucking, while digesting such milk.

All types of canned products, whole milk, coffee, cocoa are excluded from the diet. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.

The old Russian proverb “Soup and porridge is our food” is still relevant today. After all, this is really healthy and wholesome food. Soups made with vegetable broth and low-fat meat broth are recommended. It can be chicken breast, veal, beef. Buckwheat, oatmeal, barley, multi-cereal porridge will be useful for a nursing mother. For a change, it is necessary to alternate them and do not forget to flavor a little with butter.

Doctor Komarovsky does not recommend giving up fat at all. Just encourages small amounts. They cannot be completely excluded, if only for the reason that many vitamins dissolve exclusively in fats.

At this time, follow these simple rules:

  • it's too early to eat raw vegetables, but boiled or baked vegetables are just right;
  • fruit is eaten only after heat treatment. For example, cook baked apples and pears;
  • butter bread should be temporarily abandoned, since the yeast, sugar, premium flour and fats contained in it can cause the baby to bloat. The best option - crackers;
  • from drinks it is better to choose fruit and berry compotes. And to the compote - biscuits, cracker.

From the second month onwards, it is allowed to eat soups made with pork and lamb broth.

You just need to be careful with borsch: beets can cause allergies, and cabbage can cause colic.

You can eat raw fruits (except citrus fruits), fresh vegetables. Dr. Komarovsky recommends the consumption of fruits and vegetables at least 500 grams per day.

From sweets, jam, jam, honey are added to the diet. All of these products must be of high quality so as not to cause allergies.

Fresh vegetable salad - a storehouse of vitamins for a nursing mother

You will need:

  • vegetable salt and oil to taste.

Cooking method:

  1. Rinse lettuce leaves, dry, chop finely.
  2. Cut the tomatoes and cucumbers into slices.

In the period from 4 to 6 months, fatty milk (more than 2.5% fat), rich pastries, hot spices, sauces (mayonnaise, adjika), chocolate, coffee, alcohol are still prohibited.

Sugar is added to the diet, onion, fresh herbs.

From the fifth month, steamed cutlets and homemade cakes are allowed, preferably from first grade flour or general purpose and without the use of yeast.

Fresh homemade cookies are always delicious

A nursing mother has no time to engage in complex confectionery delights. But you can find half an hour to make puff cookies with sugar.

For cooking you will need:

  • puff yeast-free dough - 500 g;
  • egg - 2 pcs.;
  • sugar - 6 tbsp. l.

Here is a recipe for chopped fire cutlets.

We need:

  • chicken fillet - 0.5 kg;
  • milk - 0.5 tbsp.;
  • stale white bread - 100 g;
  • butter - 1 tbsp. l .;
  • egg - 1 pc .;

  2. Grind it along with the chicken fillet.
  3. Season with salt, add butter, egg, mix thoroughly.

After half a year

The baby is already strong at 6 months. Now mom is allowed to eat fatty meats (pork and lamb).

It is better not to fry pork in oil, but to stew it.

Also, seafood and legumes (peas, beans, beans) are introduced into the diet. You can carefully, in minimal portions, try to diversify the table with citrus fruits, while carefully monitoring the child's condition.

Pilaf with seafood adds variety to the diet

  4. Put butter on top, season with salt, pour three glasses of boiled water, cover and cook until tender over low heat.

Komarovsky's recommendations are not an axiom, and you need to carefully monitor the child, his reaction to each product and take into account his state of health. For example, if a child is allergic, then from the sixth month, of course, seafood should not be introduced into the diet.

The famous doctor advises women to write down everything they eat and drink in a special diary. If the baby has problems with the digestive tract or allergic reactions after feeding, the food diary will quickly help identify the culprit.

Always monitor your child's reactions. If in doubt - you can eat or not - eat a little. The child is all right - the rash did not appear, the sleep and stool did not change - eat to your health.

It is necessary to keep a food diary, track the baby's reaction to new foods

Doctor Komarovsky urges women not to mock themselves, turning motherhood into a feat, but simply to be happy. Look good, eat well, love your husband.

If a nursing mother wants any food, then she can definitely get it and use it in reasonable quantities, because for successful - safe and happy - breastfeeding, it is the woman's mood that is most important. If she smiles and feels good, if she is not haunted by a constant feeling of hunger, then it is clear that the quality of her milk is much higher.

There is nothing better for the health and immunity of the baby than breast milk. Proper nutrition a nursing mother, her good mood will ensure the success of breastfeeding. Go ahead, you will succeed!

The diet of a breastfeeding mother should consist of a balanced and complete set of foods. The well-being of the baby, his development and health for years depends on what and how the nursing mother eats. Famous doctor E. Komarovsky in his writings gives advice on nutrition for nursing mothers.

Exclude from the diet

All the advice of a well-known pediatrician is advisory in nature, however, in matters of nutrition, the doctor adheres to the position of perseverance. First of all products that provoke allergies are excluded: citrus fruits, chocolate, strawberries, eggs, seafood. Mom, especially in the first days and weeks, should carefully monitor the baby's reaction to what she eats new Product... If in doubt about a product, the doctor advises first to eat a small amount of it and, depending on the child's reaction, decide whether to include it in the diet in the future.

All products, due to which milk can change taste and smell, become unpleasant for the baby, are excluded from the diet. This group includes sour, salty, spicy dishes, pungent spices. A number of foods (legumes, cabbage, sodas) have a bad effect on the baby's intestines. Their use can increase gas production and in some cases cause diarrhea.

To digest fatty foods, the body requires additional efforts, with increased fat content of breast milk, it is difficult for a child to suck it out, and for a mother to express it. Therefore, the doctor does not recommend saturating food with fatty foods (fatty sour cream, butter, pork, nuts), in which milk will become more nutritious, but also difficult to digest. At the same time, vegetable fats are preferred over animals.

A well-known pediatrician advises to be very careful about the presence of exotic fruits or imported products in the diet. Such food is obviously unknown to our digestive system and its assimilation by the body may be incomplete. Putting stress on the liver or pancreas negatively affects breast milk.

The doctor gives some more advice:

  • Avoid overeating. It will be more useful to eat a little;
  • With an obsessive desire to eat something forbidden, you can "knock down the hunt" with a tiny amount of this product;
  • Doubts about the product should cause a complete rejection of it;
  • Do not eat at night;
  • If circumstances forced to drink alcohol, then a little red wine is permissible;
  • Taking vitamin complexes should be regular.

Drink issues

Dr. Komarovsky is quite clear about removing the issue of additional forced drinking for nursing mothers (although many experts claim that a large amount of drinking does not affect milk production in any way, many nursing mothers are convinced of the opposite from their own experience). The pediatrician adheres to the principle of naturalness as much as possible in this matter: if the mother and the baby are all right and there is enough milk, then there is no need to drink anything extra, beyond the woman's desire ..

If there is not enough milk, then after each feeding, the mother needs to replenish the lost fluid and drink 300-500 ml of fluid. Night feeding should be no exception, so it is best to prepare the drink in advance.

Drinking preferred:

  • Sweet green tea with milk;
  • Dried fruits compote;
  • Apple, grape, carrot juice (while remembering about moderation);
  • Boiled and baked cow's milk, fermented milk products (fat content 2.5% and below).

Various drugs are known, medicinal (nicotinic acid, pyrroxan, apilak) and food (nuts, beer, yeast), which have the property of increasing lactation. However, a well-known pediatrician advises not to overestimate their importance.

The principles of Dr. Komarovsky gained popularity for their simplicity and closeness to nature, they are advisory in nature, relying on the natural needs of a nursing mother and baby.

Doctors put chocolate on the list of prohibited foods for breastfeeding and unanimously say that you should not eat the treat. This prohibition is associated with a strong allergen in the composition of chocolate. It causes a serious allergic reaction in the baby. A rash, colic, sleep disturbance are not all that can cause a newborn to eat sweets while breastfeeding.

Despite its allergenic and stimulating effect, chocolate also has a positive effect. It quickly saturates the body with energy, improves mood and helps get rid of depression. Therefore, many experts allow small doses to be consumed some time after childbirth and subject to certain rules.

In this article, we will tell you if chocolate is okay for a nursing mom. At what age of the child and under what conditions they begin to eat a treat. And why is it so bad for babies.

Beneficial features

Unfortunately, in most modern products, many elements are replaced by chemistry. Such food is very harmful for mom and baby. But real high-quality chocolate contains a lot useful elements and performs a number of necessary functions:

  • Cocoa beans in the product are rich in antioxidants that support heart function and slow cell aging;
  • Stimulates the release of endorphins, which improve mood, help cope with stress, and give strength and energy. To achieve this effect, 25 grams of treats per day is enough;
  • The content of potassium and magnesium strengthens muscles and normalizes work nerve cells.

In addition, there are many myths surrounding this product. For example, that chocolate should not be consumed, as it is highly addictive. Some even compare sweetness to a drug. In reality, to be so addictive, you need to eat at least 55 tiles a day!

Another myth is that the composition contains a lot of caffeine. Chocolate does contain caffeine. However, the amount of this substance in one tile is 6 times less than in a cup of coffee.

Harm to mom and baby

Most doctors are sure that chocolate and chocolates should not be consumed while breastfeeding. Let's see why they think so:

  1. It causes severe allergies in both the baby and the mother. This is due to the fact that the product contains whole cow's milk with a high protein content;
  2. Protein, in addition to allergies, also causes constipation, unstable stools and flatulence;
  3. Caffeine in the treat is an exciting substance that causes anxiety and insomnia in babies;
  4. A large amount of sugar contributes to an increase in the weight of a nursing mother and an addiction to sweets in the baby. The risk of developing diabetes is increased;
  5. Caffeine causes cramps, colic, and increased gas formation in the intestines;
  6. Preservatives and flavorings are added to a modern product. And cocoa is often replaced with vegetable fats and oils. Such chocolate is very harmful, like any food chemistry;
  7. Because of sugar, mom can have dental problems.

Many mums find it healthier to use white chocolate when breastfeeding. It does not contain caffeine, which makes babies excited. And nutritionists say white chocolate is easier to digest.

But such a product contains more carbohydrates, which negatively affect the functioning of the intestines. The baby has colic and gas formation increases.

It's up to mom to choose white or dark chocolate. Bitter or black is more useful, but white is not arousing nervous system baby and does not disturb sleep.

When can you eat chocolate during lactation?

The famous pediatrician Yevgeny Komarovsky proceeds from the fact that the diet for breastfeeding should be based on familiar and simple food in moderation. If Mom wants chocolate, then why not eat a small dose. Subject to certain recommendations, a slice of goodies will not do harm.

  • Chocolate should not be consumed in the first three months after childbirth. The baby's body is weak during this period, it must get stronger and adapt to new conditions;
  • Be sure to make sure that the baby is not allergic;
  • Eat a 5 gram piece the first time. Then it is better to wait 2-3 months before using it again;
  • With subsequent use, you can increase the dose to 25 grams;
  • Choose natural dark chocolate.

Komarovsky formulated the rule that when breastfeeding, new products are introduced in the morning and one at a time. So you will see the exact reaction of the baby to a particular category of food. If there is no allergy, but you really want to eat a small piece of chocolate. The main thing is to remember the norms!

Dr. Komarovsky also believes that all new foods should be eaten by a nursing mother in the morning, so that during the day she can see the baby's reaction to the new food.

Every woman with the appearance of a baby creates for him the necessary conditions... First of all, mom thinks about the health of the baby and tries to adhere to the useful and healthy eating... A woman uses a lot of glucose to make breast milk, so she craves sweets during feeding. There are many sweets allowed during this period. And chocolate? It's so hard to give up! Many people are interested in the question of whether it is possible to eat chocolate while breastfeeding.

As for the use of this product, the views of experts are divided. Russian scientists insist on a strict diet in the first three months. Representatives of Western medicine do not require any self-restraint from the mother. They believe: what foods a woman consumed during pregnancy, then it is possible after childbirth.

How does chocolate affect baby's health?

The main rule when eating chocolate at any age of a child is moderation.

If a family member has an allergy to this product, then the crumbs have an increased risk of a negative reaction. However, the body of each person is individual, and it is difficult to predict the exact reaction. When can mom eat a slice of sweet food?

In the first two or three months after the birth of a child, chocolate should still be discarded. The digestive tract of the crumbs is still very weak, you should not injure it with an allergic product.

After three to four months, you can eat a small piece and watch the crumbs. If there are no consequences, then it is worth trying to gradually introduce the product into the diet. The main thing is to remember the rule: you need to use it in moderation.

Symptoms of allergic reactions:

  • redness of the body;
  • rash;
  • upset stool;
  • gneiss under the eyebrows and on the head;
  • peeling, itching on the face;
  • diaper rash, prickly heat.

If even one of these signs appears, eliminate chocolate from your diet for a while. Later you can try again, and if the baby has an allergic reaction again, you will have to exclude the delicacy for the entire lactation period. Until then, replace chocolate with dried fruit. They are much healthier and non-allergenic.

Beneficial features

Chocolate is a good source of great mood

But chocolate also has positive aspects. It lifts the mood, instantly fills the body with energy and relieves depression, and after giving birth, a woman is sorely lacking.

At the present time, many products contain chemicals that are dangerous for the baby and mother during the feeding period. But if the chocolate is natural, it contains useful components:

  • antioxidants. They slow down aging and also improve the functioning of the cardiovascular system;
  • natural ingredients (ananfamide, tryptophan) improve mood and are considered natural antidepressants;
  • plant substances flavonoids restore blood pressure and protect a person from strokes and heart attacks;
  • potassium restores the work of nerve cells and strengthens muscles;
  • magnesium of cocoa beans helps to better absorb calcium, normal metabolism, lowers blood pressure, raises immunity, and also helps the central nervous system to fight stress;
  • theobromine and caffeine, which are part of chocolate, relieve fatigue, increase physical and mental abilities.

There is a myth that caffeine in chocolate is highly addictive. However, in a cup of coffee of this substance 6 times more than one chocolate bar.

Allergy-provoking properties of chocolate

Allergic rashes on the face from excessive consumption of chocolate

A natural product rarely causes allergies, but cheap substitutes often. Allergies in a baby are:

  • content palm oil (it is absent in a natural product);
  • whole milk (in milk chocolate). A small body is not able to assimilate casein, this leads to digestive disorders, diathesis. Due to the content of film powder milk, white chocolate has the same effect;
  • roasted peanuts are the strongest allergen;
  • flavors and preservatives have a negative effect on the baby's organs, so it is unacceptable for them to enter the body.

When breastfeeding, you should not eat unnatural chocolate. The cocoa content must be at least 72%. IN chocolates there are unhealthy trans fats, and it is strongly discouraged to consume them.

Harm to a nursing mother and baby

Why do most doctors think that chocolate should not be consumed during the hepatitis B period?

  • Caffeine causes colic and cramping, anxiety and insomnia in your baby.
  • Sugar increases the weight of the mother, and dental problems are possible. And the crumbs may become addicted to sweets, which increases the risk of diabetes.
  • Protein is also a strong allergen, contributes to stool disturbance, diarrhea or constipation.

And yet, until you try a piece of your favorite delicacy, you will not know what effect it will have on your baby.

Which chocolate to choose

When choosing a product, try to give preference to black slab chocolate. Choose a natural bitter product with no additives. It contains almost no sugar, milk and chemical elements.

Chocolates or bars contain poor quality chocolate and many substitutes. And white chocolate contains a lot of carbohydrates, which can negatively affect the intestines. However, it does not disturb sleep and does not excite the central nervous system of the crumbs. The most useful is dark dark chocolate.

During breastfeeding, when your baby is 2 to 3 months old, you can eat chocolate butter in moderation. It has a positive effect on the intestines and stomach of both the mother and the baby.

Whether chocolate can be consumed during lactation and how much depends on the condition of the crumbs. If the baby develops constipation or colic, then the mother should postpone the introduction of a new product.

When dietary substances are cleared from breast milk

All substances acquired with food intake pass through the blood into breast milk. They are absorbed in the body and excreted in different ways. The composition of chocolate includes many components, which means that they will get into milk at different times.

The question arises, how long does it take for the substances to be removed from breast milk? Substances of natural products are removed from the body for about a day. Coloring agents, E-additives and preservatives continue to enter milk for a week.

Natural chocolate contains milk powder, cocoa powder, cocoa butter and powdered sugar. There should be no other substances in it. According to statistics, allergic reactions to these elements occur in 3% of babies.

The well-known doctor E. Komarovsky says that a mother's diet with hepatitis B should consist of simple and familiar food in small quantities. If a nursing mom wants chocolate, why not eat a small piece?

Komarovsky notes that when breastfeeding, it is necessary to introduce one new product, and preferably in the morning. This will make it easier to notice the baby's reaction. And in the absence of allergies, mom can pamper herself with a small slice of chocolate.

The famous doctor Yevgeny Komarovsky, who loves children with all his heart, has created a special nutrition system for mothers who are experiencing such a happy period in life as breastfeeding.

Komarovsky: diet of a nursing mother by months, diet of a nursing mother after childbirth

Probably, it is not worth saying how important it is for mommy to eat in the first time after giving birth, if she breastfeeds the baby. Almost all substances that come with food enter breast milk. Therefore, you need to be very careful when developing your menu.

Many of you have heard about the children's doctor Yevgeny Komarovsky. He has developed a special diet for women who are in the postpartum period and are feeding their baby with their milk. It must be remembered that Komarovsky emphasizes: the diet for nursing mothers is at the same time the diet of her child.

What you can't eat or what you can eat, but in small quantities?

The diet of a nursing mother, which Dr. Komarovsky proposes to observe, involves the exclusion (or maximum restriction) of the following foods from the diet:

  • Citrus fruits (especially oranges, tangerines).
  • Chocolate, cocoa, coffee.
  • Strawberry wild-strawberry.

The fact is that these delicacies, loved by many, are often the cause of allergies in children.

Also, do not abuse such dishes that are very spicy, sour, salty or have a specific taste (for example, the same garlic). After all, they can change the taste of milk, and then the baby will refuse to breast. Another product, seemingly completely harmless and even useful, is cabbage. But its overabundance can cause increased gas formation in the baby, which will cause discomfort, discomfort in the tummy, and problems with stool.

Also try not to eat a lot of fatty foods. We are talking about fatty meats, lard, butter, sour cream, cream, etc. All this can dramatically increase the lipid content of milk, which will make it difficult for the baby's still immature digestive system to digest it.

In general, if you have eaten something unusual (for example, some rare fruit), then follow the baby's reaction: there are no changes in his health, the appearance of a rash on the skin, and so on.

Komarovsky: diet of a nursing mother - what can and should be eaten?

Of course, fruits and vegetables are in the first place in terms of benefits. But it is desirable to eat them fresh, not frozen, and even more so not canned. Their total number should be at least a pound per day. If you have problems with being overweight (and, as practice shows, many people have), then do not get carried away with potatoes, beets, bananas, grapes and other high-calorie fruits and vegetables.

Now let's talk about drinks. Of course, you should always have clean, still water at hand. Also, you can safely drink tea (any) with milk and sugar, compote, fruit juices (preferably freshly squeezed or from a series of baby food), low-fat milk (boiled) and other dairy products. Be sure to follow the expiration date!

Mom and her baby are very closely related. Even after birth, the baby receives the elements and nutrients that the mother consumes, and the same toxins if she abuses harmful products, alcohol, etc.

Knowing this, a nursing mother should plan her diet with intelligence and understanding so that her nutrition is healthy, correct and complete. It will not be the same from month to month, as in terms of useful properties products and in terms of possible harm.

Choosing a diet is a big responsibility for a nursing mother, because the quality of milk and the health of the baby depend on it. To make everything go as smoothly as possible, you should heed the advice of experts. The menu cannot be thought over for the entire feeding period, it changes from week to week, from month to month

Many foods, useful or just habitual, that we consume every day, can cause poisoning, stool disorders or serious allergic reactions in a newborn. It is believed that the number of mothers' meals should be the same as the number of feedings for the newborn baby.

There are tables containing sample menu for the nutrition of a nursing woman, which are tailored according to the age of the child. Such tables, offered, for example, by Dr. Komarovsky, are good guidelines for compiling your own food system.

Products for a nursing mother: the basics of choice

  • safety;
  • quality;
  • usefulness provided by diversity.

These are the basic principles, guided by which, you can create a balanced menu. Safety is due to the ability of products to feed the baby through mother's milk, without applying little man harm, including without leading to allergies or digestive upset. It is also determined by freshness. It is better to use authentic foods (that is, those that grow in your home region).

The quality of a product is determined by its composition (for example, you need to eat real cottage cheese, not a cottage cheese product), the content of unnecessary or hazardous substances (pesticides, toxins) in it. Variety is determined by the ability to include in your menu all types of permitted products, from lactic acid to red fish meat.

The food consumed has a partial (albeit rather large) effect on the quality of breast milk, mainly on the content of micronutrients (vitamin complex and minerals) in it, and partly on the fat content. The mother's mood, her physical condition and other factors also affect the mother's body product so necessary for the baby.

For normal lactation great importance has not only a diet, but also a drinking regimen. A nursing mother should drink at least 2, and preferably from 2 to 3 liters of clean water per day.

In addition to nutrition, the psychoemotional state also plays an important role. If a young mother is depressed, nervous, sad, hormones are released into the blood, which then penetrate into the milk. They can impair physical health and affect the fragile nervous system of the infant.

Baby from 0 to 1 month old: what do we eat?

The first month of a baby's life is the most responsible one in terms of the mother's choice of products in her diet. The child was just born: what should his mother eat to help adapt a fragile body? During this period, the diet of the nursing mother of the newborn should be complete. However, it is worth choosing products whose ability to cause irritation of the gastrointestinal tract mucosa and flatulence is minimal. To such useful products relate:

  • eggs (you can eat quail or chicken, but it is better to refrain from eating duck) - 1 egg every three days;
  • buckwheat porridge and oatmeal, rarely wheat;
  • lean white poultry meat, rabbit meat (some recommend veal);
  • fermented milk products (cottage cheese, kefir);
  • boiled and steamed vegetables (raw vegetables can be introduced after the 1st week, one product at a time, so that if an allergy occurs, immediately exclude it from the menu);
  • baked apples (some recommend raw);
  • vegetable oil (corn, olive or sunflower) - 15 grams per day;
  • butter - up to 30 grams per day;
  • durum wheat pasta (sometimes);
  • dried fruit compote (apples, prunes, dried apricots);
  • apple juice (no more than 1 glass per day);
  • homemade marshmallows or pastilles made from natural products (no more than 1 time per week) (we recommend reading :).

It is required to exclude from the diet in the first month salty and canned foods, grapes, mayonnaise, ketchup, adjika, cabbage (namely white cabbage), products from cocoa beans, pastries, sausages, nuts, coffee, strong black and green teas, alcohol of any strength, and others on the recommendation of a doctor.

Such foods cause indigestion in the baby, some are allergens, and some (for example, alcohol) are toxic to the baby's body.

For a child from 1 to 3 months: we replenish the menu

The diet of a nursing mother of a newborn at the age of 1 to 3 months becomes freer, her the table is replenished:

  • lean beetroot (some experts allow adding a little tomato juice);
  • a small amount of nuts, except for pistachios and peanuts (according to some recommendations, it is better to attribute the use of nuts for a period from 3 months);
  • raw fruits (preferably homemade), they need to be included gradually, adding one product at a time;
  • jam homemade (in small quantities).

During this period, it is categorically not recommended to break the diet, including whole cow's milk, fatty sour cream, meat broths, pastries, cocoa beans, coffee, strong tea, raisins on the menu. Other foods can be excluded from a woman's diet on the recommendation of a pediatrician.

A pediatrician will help give advice on the optimal diet for mom. He will check the baby's condition, calculate compliance with weight standards, and conduct neurological tests. It happens that some products for mom need to be excluded, although formally they are allowed

The baby grows, the diet expands: from 3 to 6 months

After the newborn has lived its first three months, has matured and got stronger, the diet softens for the nursing mother. Food is becoming more diverse, but the entire previous list of prohibited foods is still relevant.

Mom is allowed to include fresh juices or fruit drinks (they should be squeezed before drinking):

  • pumpkin;
  • apple;
  • carrot;
  • beetroot.

The diet during this period allows you to eat pearl barley and wheat porridge, allows the use of fresh onions (onions). Whole cow's milk is still not recommended. Although, according to some sources, tea with milk - good remedy for lactation. And if the child is not allergic to cow protein or lactose deficiency, such a remedy is quite applicable.

Freshly squeezed homemade juices are an excellent remedy for a nursing mother, adding a lot of vitamins to the diet. They should be prepared immediately before use, exclude the addition of chemical preservatives (even citric acid) to the product

Menu from six months to 1 year

The body of six-month-old babies is quite capable of withstanding fried foods in the diet of a nursing mother (we recommend reading :). Food should not be too browned and greasy. Very slowly, in minimal portions, you can diversify your table with exotic, introducing oranges, tangerines, kiwi into your diet.

You can try eating some garlic (although children usually don't like the garlic taste and smell of milk), legumes (such as borscht with beans), seafood, and a little chocolate.

You should not switch to the usual diet of a modern person, all the more abruptly. When feeding a baby of this age, mommy still needs to eat mostly cooked foods.

The diet of a lactating woman allows you to include the following foods in the menu:

  • all types of meat consumed in previous periods and beef;
  • the range of cereals is expanding, replenishing with corn and rice;
  • legumes (peas and beans);
  • different varieties of fish and seafood (preferably boiled or stewed);
  • bran bread, dried white;
  • nuts (with the exception of pistachios and peanuts);
  • all kinds of baked vegetables;
  • quail and chicken eggs (duck, goose and others while it is better not to use) (more in the article:);
  • cottage cheese, kefir, fermented baked milk (we recommend to read :);
  • boiled potatoes, can be baked;
  • small amounts of onions and garlic;
  • juices and fruit drinks;
  • compotes and decoctions (mainly from dried fruits and rose hips);
  • weak tea (green and black) without additives and flavors.

Pediatrician Yevgeny Komarovsky and his advice are very popular today. Many women relate their menu to its recommendations for breastfeeding. According to Komarovsky, the basis of the diet of a nursing mother is healthy food, and should be excluded:

  • spicy herbs (including garlic and onions);
  • exotic fruits, primarily citruses;
  • products containing any kind of preservatives and dyes;
  • carbonated drinks;
  • condensed milk;
  • all types of dressings for dishes (primarily mayonnaise, ketchup and adjika);
  • large quantities of pasta;
  • all kinds of fast food;
  • sausages and convenience store products;
  • pickles, smoked meats, marinades;
  • foods containing GMOs.

What is such a diet for?

Many women feel that it is not necessary to follow these guidelines. Nothing bad will happen if they eat as usual - the child adapts faster. Some appeal to the experience of their friends who barely drank and smoked everything they wanted. And their children survived. Of course, children's organisms are different, and what is destructive for one, the other can withstand. But this does not mean that there will be no consequences.

Gastritis, colitis, pancreatitis and other diseases of the hepatobiliary system and digestive organs that overtake a person in adulthood, oddly enough it sounds, depend not only on what lifestyle he leads, but also on how his mother ate before and after giving birth, while feeding him with her milk.

Proper nutrition of a woman and a healthy lifestyle will not be able to protect her child from diseases that he will receive, based on the chosen one life path... But at the same time, they will significantly reduce the risk of developing a whole set of diseases, provide him with full-fledged development (both of the body and of the intellect). In any case, they will serve as significant prerequisites for the fact that the child was healthy, had a strong immunity and a quick mind.

By eating healthy food with reasonable restrictions, the young mother will ensure that the body receives the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that are necessary for both the woman and the baby. The amount of food consumed does not always affect the amount of milk produced, but the quality of nutrition directly affects the completeness of feeding the baby. A well-designed diet for breastfeeding will allow a nursing mother to eat right from the first days, which will save her from the consequences of a rash diet, which always negatively affects the health of the baby.
A woman should pay special attention to her nutrition in the first weeks of a baby's life. Firstly, it is imperative to exclude from the diet all foods that provoke intense gas formation in the intestines, since this causes colic in the baby. In addition, you should not eat those foods, the use of which leads to softening of the stool, since the child's body reacts an order of magnitude sharper, which can cause diarrhea. All foodstuffs that can cause an allergic reaction in a child are also banned. Even in an initially healthy baby, it is difficult to cure allergic dermatitis, it is much easier to prevent its appearance.

When composing a menu for a nursing mother, it is worth listening to the recommendations of leading pediatricians. In particular, you can take as a basis the nutritional rules for nursing women from Dr. Komarovsky.

  1. We exclude canned, smoked, refined and semi-finished products from the menu.
  2. It is necessary to adhere to a balanced diet, and therefore the dishes of the everyday menu should contain all the necessary proteins, fats and carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. This diet includes fermented milk products, cereals, fish, vegetable and animal oils, fruits, vegetables, bread, flour products.
  3. The daily diet should be divided into at least 4 meals. If a young mother wants to quickly lose weight after giving birth, then instead of cutting the diet, it is worth dividing it into 6 or 7 servings - fractional nutrition will allow the body to activate metabolic processes, and the child will not be infringed on the necessary nutrition.
  4. For normal lactation, a woman should consume enough liquid - it is better not to consume cow's milk in the first months of a child's life at all, but to drink weak sweet tea.
  5. As for the methods of cooking while breastfeeding, it is worth giving up frying and smoking, while steaming, baking, stewing are welcome.
  6. When choosing cereals for cereals, you need to opt for whole grain cereals - buckwheat, oats, barley, etc. are useful for a young mother.
  7. When eating dairy products, a nursing mother should choose a variety of processed milk options from kefir to cottage cheese and fermented baked milk.
  8. To replenish the need for such elements as iodine, iron and calcium, it is worth including fish, seafood and seaweed, spinach, kefir, cottage cheese in the diet.
  9. An important element in a woman's normal digestion is fiber. It is also worth eating foods containing folic acid - bananas, oranges, legumes, Brussels sprouts.

The older the child becomes, the less the mother has dietary restrictions. Nevertheless, there is a whole list of foods that Dr. Komarovsky recommends to refuse for the entire feeding period. This is due to the peculiarities of the development and functioning of the infant's body, which can be disrupted due to the consumption of the following assortment:

  • Fat meat
  • Sausages, both boiled and smoked
  • Canned food
  • Eggs in any form
  • Chicken or meat broth
  • Cow's milk
  • Strong drinks (tea, coffee)
  • Alcohol
  • Dough products excluding lean whole grain baked goods.

Also, a breastfeeding diet should not include vegetables and fruits with red peel or pulp - this restriction should be observed at least in the first six months of a child's life, and then gradually introduce tomatoes, beets, peppers, etc. into the diet of the mother and baby. You should be especially careful with berries and fruits: as for strawberries, raspberries, cranberries and citrus fruits, the abundance of vitamin C makes them strong allergens, so that they are useful only in small quantities. Vitamin C-rich cabbage is also on the list of foods that should be eaten with caution, especially since it causes increased gas production. As for chocolate, this product can also be consumed in minimal doses.
Chicken meat, despite its dietary value, also often becomes an allergen for a child. This is due to the conditions for growing chickens in enterprises where the poultry receives additives that stimulate the growth of young animals. If an allergy manifests itself, then it is worth excluding chicken from the diet and replacing it with a rabbit or low-fat beef, veal, turkey or chicken, which is grown in your own backyard.
Separately, it should be said about spices for breastfeeding - you should refuse to use them in the first year of a baby's life. But as for onions and garlic, they are useful for a child, but they worsen the taste of milk, which is not liked by all children - this also limits the use of these healthy vegetables. Also, the diet for breastfeeding should contain cumin and parsley - these spices have a positive effect on the baby's digestion, suppressing gas formation, and therefore they must be added to dishes with legumes or cabbage, which levels the active formation of gas in the baby's intestines, relieving him of bloating ...
