The disadvantage of powder paints is the need for special equipment - the dye in the form of a powder according to technology should be melted at a temperature of about 200 degrees. That is why powder technology not suitable for aluminum - aluminum wheels can be deformed.

The staining technology involves cleaning the stamp from the old coating by sandblasting. Then the surface is thoroughly degreased, covered with primer and a dye is applied in a special spray booth.

It will take at least a day for the paint to dry completely. It is possible to do such work in garage conditions with your own hands, but it is unprofitable.

Acrylic

Acrylic paint works well for painting wheels. This option is the best choice. It is very convenient to use acrylic, and you can apply it yourself - the dye is sold in an aerosol, but you can also work with an airbrush. It is possible to paint disks with aerosol acrylic paint quickly and efficiently, and at the same time inexpensively.

Among the main advantages, one can single out the complete protection of the surface from the effects of precipitation. Road reagents will also not be able to harm the painted surface. But it must be borne in mind that acrylic has an average durability.

Rubber

Rubber paints are in great demand among those who like to highlight their car, tune it in every possible way. The reason for the great popularity of such coatings was their versatility. They can be used not only on metal, but also on plastic, glass. The coating can be either matte or glossy, this gives customers the opportunity to choose what they want.

On sale there is also a rubber luminescent paint that glows. The composition contains a special pigment - a phosphor, which accumulates light during the day, and begins to emit it at night. It turns out an interesting glowing effect.

Painting technology

Surface preparation

Before degreasing and, the surface of the disc should be prepared: cleaned of the old paintwork. Wash the disc thoroughly using a brush and a suitable detergent to old paint departed quickly. Primer

After the surface is prepared, we proceed to the next stage of work - priming. Before doing this, do not forget to degrease the cleaned surface with a solvent. Start applying the primer from the beginning inner surface disk, then go to the outer. Before spraying, do not forget to shake the can well, and repeat this procedure from time to time. Work slowly, making sure that the primer evenly lays down on the prepared surface. Hold the primer can at a distance of 25-30 cm from the surface. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly and apply another coat or two, allowing time to dry. To make the drying process go faster, you need to think about blowing. Painting and varnishing

Well, now the surface of the disk is primed and dried, which means that you can proceed directly to painting and varnishing. It is advisable to choose paint and varnish from the same manufacturer and read the instructions before use. The technology of these processes is similar to the priming procedure. It is better to paint on a spread out piece of polyethylene or cloth to avoid dust getting on the painted surface. We apply 2-3 layers of paint with breaks of 10-15 minutes and 2 layers of colorless varnish with the same interval. After applying the first coat of varnish, check the surface for unevenness and, if necessary, sand with sandpaper or abrasive paste. Wait about a week for the painted and varnished disc to dry completely. Polish the finished disc with a special polish - this is not necessary, but very impressive.

Wait for the final and complete drying of the varnish, you may have to leave the discs to dry overnight, then turn the disc over and repeat the painting procedure for the back of the disc.
