Trekking around Annapurna or Ring of Annapurna - this route is suitable for almost any person who loves the mountains and decided to go to the Himalayas! Here is one of the few places in the world where it is possible to visit the big mountains without giving up comfort.
You can do this without buying expensive equipment, without special mountaineering training, without a heavy backpack, without living in a tent and without tedious cooking in hiking conditions - over the years of tourism development in the Nepalese Himalayas, a good infrastructure has appeared that allows, if you wish, to walk the track without giving up the benefits of civilization ...
All you need is good physical fitness and a willingness to embark on an adventure that will possibly change your life forever!
Our scenic route called the Ring of Annapurna runs around the Himalayan Annapurna Mountains - through the most beautiful places, starting and ending in tropical forests, it includes subtropical coniferous forests and highlands with snow-capped peaks. The group will walk along well-groomed paths and dirt roads surrounded by several eight- and seven-thousand-meter peaks - Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Gangapurna and Dhaulagiri.
And before getting to the Himalayas, we will get acquainted with the Nepalese - friendly and hospitable people, see Kathmandu - the capital of Nepal, on the way to the mountains we will look at the countryside, the ordinary life of local people. For a couple of days we will stop in the Thamel district in Kathmandu - this is a small city inside a large one - tourist, but with a national flavor - it is very interesting to walk along its narrow streets, souvenir shops, and in the evenings to have dinner in cafes with Nepalese and Indian cuisine.

A beautiful mountainous and so diverse country beautiful landscapes, kind people, delicious and unusual food, rich and interesting history ...
We do not highly recommend going to Nepal. It is addictive.
Having been here once, you will want to come back here again and again!

1 day Kathmandu

Accommodation at the hotel, meeting. The guide will inspect your belongings and equipment. If necessary, you can have time to buy something in Kathmandu or rent it at a local rental.

Day 2 Walking in Kathmandu

We have set aside an extra day in Kathmandu in order to avoid group delays due to a late plane or baggage - this often happens here. If your arrival is according to plan, while the guide is busy with the paperwork to visit the national park in Nepal, you can walk around Kathmandu on this day.

Kathmandu (the ancient city of Kantipur) is the capital of Nepal and a city of contrasts, which is almost 3 thousand years old. The city is located in a mountain valley at an altitude of 130 meters. Since ancient times, the city has been a refuge for Buddhists - here they fled from the oppression of Hindus and Muslims

What you can see in Kathmandu:

 • historic Durbar square
 • hanuman Dhoka Palace
 • bazantapur tower
 • taleju Temple
 • octagonal pagoda Krishna Mandir
 • kumari Ghar temple
 • newar city
 • attractions of the Tundikhel area
 • singh's palace
 • Budhanilkanta
 • swayambhunath temple complex
 • boddnath stupa
 • safari park Gokarna

Day 3 Kathmandu - Besisahar

Transfer by bus to the town of Besisahar - the last stronghold of civilization, as we called it. The road runs along countryside surrounded by small villages on mountain serpentines, the trip will last 7-10 hours. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Besisahar - Chame

In the morning we will load our things onto the SUVs, put ourselves in them, and on the way through the jungle we will begin to gradually gain altitude. From the village of Tal (height 1700 m), you will start hiking trekking over rough terrain among the jungle and waterfalls. Today we have an 8-kilometer trek to the village of Tkhoche (1900 m), where we will spend the night in the first lodge on the way.

From Tkhoche the road will pass through the gorge of the Marsyardi River, which will accompany us for the first half of the trek. The trail runs through jungles and waterfalls, often over hanging bridges. The vegetation is mainly subtropical - thickets of bamboo and rhododendrons, banana palms and tangerine trees. In the evening we will reach the village of Chame (2670 m), from where for the first time on the track you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. If we have time, we can still swim in the hot springs overlooking one of the mountain peaks.

On the way 15 km, climb 770 meters

Day 5 Chame - Upper Pisang (3300 m)

Around the trail there are majestic cedars and pines and a view of the seven- and eight-thousanders: the peaks of the Lamjung Himal (6893 m), the Annapurna spurs, Pisang peak (6095 m), Annapurna II, on which the outlines of a human face created by the relief of rocks and ice are clearly visible. Huge mountains hang over people. To understand the scale, you need to be below them at an altitude of 3000 m! And they are still gigantic.
In Upper Pisang, you can go to a Buddhist temple, listen to an evening Buddhist service (puja).

On the way 19 km, ascent 600 meters

Day 6 Upper Pisang - Braka (3500 m)

Today there are 2 options - to walk 13 km along a dirt road along the river bank without straining with a minimum climb of 200 m, or to complicate your task - to walk 22 km with a sharp climb of 400 m along a very spectacular path traversing the slope of the mountain ridge. The reward is stunning views of the Annapurna massif, the beauty of which is difficult to describe in words, as well as a visit to the small and very authentic village of Ghauru. This transition is recommended for participants with good physical fitness, with the understanding that, perhaps, the group will reach the lodge after dark.

The Mananga Valley has a strong influence of Tibetan culture: you can see Buddhist gompas, chortens, stones with mantras. Destination - Braga - like Manang itself - ancient settlements with well-preserved houses and gompas (temples).
The Manang area is an area of ancient trade routes. The Mananga Valley is separated from other territories of Nepal in a special way and has the status of autonomy. The residents of Manang hold passports that allow them to travel and trade much more freely than other Nepalese.
The contrast between vegetation and landscape can be noticed: the cold, harsh climate leaves its mark. The area is teeming with tall cliffs and exotic rock formations that contrast with the Himalayan peaks.

Day 7 of Brak - Tilicho Lake Base Camp

Day 8 Base camp of Lake Tilicho - Lake Tilicho

Day 9 Base camp of Lake Tilicho - Yak Kharka

Path 11 km, 600 m set, 750 m drop
Yak Khark serves the most delicious Yak Steak on the entire track 🙂 and you can also buy delicious sea buckthorn tea and yak cheese in guest houses. It's amazing how such huge animals as yaks survive in the highlands - only thorns grow here! But they (yaks) are practically the only transport and source of writing here.

Day 10 Yak Kharkha - Torung Fedi

Day 11 Torung Fedi - Torung Haig Camp

11 km path, 1000 m set, 300 m drop
Crowd in the valley of the river Torung Khola (Thorung Khola). The group is approaching one of the most difficult obstacles on the track - the Torung La pass. Overnight at the ascent to the pass.

Day 12 Torung Haig Camp - Torung La Pass - Muktinath

Path 16 km, 600 m set, 1800 m drop
Night exit from the lodge - outside freezing temperatures and surprisingly clear ringing air. A relatively small (600 m), but difficult climb, and now the group will be at an altitude of 5416 meters - the top point of the Torung La pass. A beautiful view of the Dhaulagiri and Tashi Kang peaks opens up.
Then the descent to Muktinath (3800 m) begins, the most famous place of pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal. On the territory of the monastery there are the palaces of Vishnu, Krishnu, the Goddess of Fire, a memorial golden garden, and in it - a Waterfall-fountain (there are 108 heads of a sacred cow - according to the number of known faces of Shiva)
The pagoda style in which the Muktinath temple is made is a symbol of the religious symbiosis of Hinduism and Buddhism. This shrine is one of the eight major Vaishnava shrines. Here, at the beginning of the 19th century, the Hindus consecrated the Vishnu temple and named it Muktinath - the Lord of Liberation. Hindus call this place Mukti Ksetra, which means "the place of salvation of the soul"). Buddhists gave it the name Chumig Gyatsa, which in Tibetan means "one hundred sacred waters." It is believed that one who bathes here in all 108 springs completely clears his karma - there is a great chance 😉

Day 13 Rest in Muktinath

Day 14 Muktinath - Kakbeni

Day 15 Kakbeni - Jomsom

Day 16 Jomsom - Pokhara

Day 17 Rest Pokhara

Day 18 Pokhara - Kathmandu

The tour program is not final and may be adjusted depending on weather conditions, health conditions of the participants and other circumstances. The decision on the exit of the participants on the route, the time of the exit, changes in the tactical plan of the route is taken by the guide.

Trekking is carried out by the guides of the tourist club

Day 1. Group meeting

This day is dedicated to the collection of participants at Tribhuvan airport, visa processing and check-in at the hotel. The capital of Nepal is very noisy, the streets are in real chaos. It is difficult to figure it out on your own - that is why we meet our trekkers immediately upon arrival :). Our hotel is located in the most tourist area of the city - Thamele. It has everything: attractions, restaurants, shops and equipment shops. In the evening we will take a walk and buy the missing equipment.

Day 2. Transfer to Besisahar

The bus journey to the beginning of our trek will take us at least 8 hours. The road runs along a dusty mountain serpentine and often in one lane, and through the window we can look at the everyday and at the same time often shocking life of the Nepalese, laugh at the trucks painted from top to bottom with funny inscriptions. Upon arrival, we check into a hotel and rest.

Day 5. Springs of Chame

Climbing higher and higher along the route of our trekking around Annapurna, we will finally see the first eight-thousander - Manaslu (8163 m). Day 10. Yak Kharka

Our trekking around Annapurna continues higher into the Himalayas. Day 12. Thorong La Pass - Muktinath

The climax of trekking around Annapurna has come - overcoming the highest pedestrian pass Torong La (5416 m). After enjoying the beautiful views of Annapurna, we descend from the pass to the village of Muktinath (3760 m). After resting and having a snack at the hotel, those who wish can walk to the monastery with 108 sacred springs and admire the statue of the Black Buddha.

Day 13. Jomsom - Tatopani

Early in the morning we move to the village of Tatopani. The road runs along the valley of the largest river in Nepal, Kali-Gandaki, in places almost along the riverbed. Kali Gandaki is famous for cutting the Great Himalayan Range between the two highest peaks in the world - Annapurna and Daulagiri, the distance between the peaks is 35 km. The river itself flows between these mountains at an altitude of 2540 m above sea level. lvl. m, so the Kaligandak Gorge is considered the deepest gorge in the world. We will also pass through the historical areas of Mustang with the administrative center of Jomsom. Many apples are grown here best gradeBy the way, according to rumors, it has been delivered to the court of the Queen of Great Britain for almost a century. After the trip, it will be very pleasant to take a break from the harsh conditions of the highlands, and in the evening relax in the pools filled with thermal springs. Life is good ...

Trekking - 9 km. Moving 50 km.

Day 18. Kathmandu

All day long we get back to Kathmandu and stay at the hotel. After a quality rest, we will devote the remaining time to sightseeing in Kathmandu ( Patan - Pashupatinath complex, Bodnath Buddhist stupa, Swayambunath Monkey Temple).

Day 19. Himalayas, see you!

We will spend our last morning in Nepal profitably - we will go through the local shops of equipment and buy some pleasant things for the next hikes. Then we fly through Sharjah back to our homeland.

Note: Above the route of the hike there are tabs "Information" and "Equipment", where you will find information on additional costs, required documents and a list of equipment for this hike. Be sure to check it out!

To cast to the starting point of the track, you need to go through all the circles of hell: denial, anger, depression and acceptance. In more detail - drive along the serpentine road along the killed Nepalese roads (or their absence).

Roads in Nepal are a separate attraction. From Kathmandu or to Besisahara (the beginning of the track) the track can somehow be called a road. But if you want to jump higher into the mountains - get ready, it will not be forgotten! For there is no road there.

In a small, dead old jeep, loaded with chickens, boxes, Nepalese and other necessary trash for living, you will be offered a ride with the breeze to the desired village .. Most likely in four in the back seat.

All the way you will be shaken all over the cabin, the Nepalese squeak will shout through the speakers, there is a cliff from the window into the abyss, and the speed of movement is actually equal to the walking speed ..

But when you crawl out of this jeep in hysterics with the words “I will not go further”, turn around and see the mountains ... That's it, your heart stops and you say delightedly: “Yes, I will not go further, I will go on foot!”.

Day 2. Jagat 1300 m - Donakyu 2300 m.

The first walking day can be called the day of waterfalls, stone stairs, lizards and goats. Difficult, hard, hot (still), but beautiful. You raise your head and go numb with delight. All I hear from the guys is “how beautiful! The waterfall is right on the road! Look, lizard. Goats, how cute. "

One day passed like two. So many emotions, impressions and new sensations! The second half went with the goats, I felt like a shepherd, so funny!

It's getting colder ... There was no internet in the lodge. Everything is simple: there is a cloud, no wifi. We didn't see big mountains either - there are many clouds, this distinguishes the beginning of autumn from the end.

Day 3. Donakyu 2300 m - Chame 2670 m.

Ditching the elevator and walking to the 7th floor was a great idea! On the route around Annapurna there are several “stone stairs to the sky” and if last year I died on a similar rise, now - as I climbed 110 floors on foot. Only. Lightness!

The big mountains are not visible yet. Manaslu was overcast with clouds. Annapurna behind the cloud. It is rainy. But it's still beautiful and without snowy peaks - we are surrounded by 4 thousandth green hills. If you're lucky, we'll see the Annapurna peaks tomorrow.

Day 4. Chame 2670 m - Upper Pisang 3300 m.

Sweaty, choking with fatigue, we crawled up. To the right is the Svargadvari plateau of stunning beauty. We were stunned, caught our breath, and continued on.

Svargadvari plateau

Higher and higher along the forest path. After 6 hours we got to the Upper Pisang, crossing the mark of 3000 m. Finally, we saw them: the snowy peaks of Annapurna II and Annapurna IV. Not transferable!

I have Internet withdrawal: two days without communication and I understand that for another 5 days there can be communication only with space. Clouds, disperse! I need snowy peaks, starry skies and internet.

Day 5. Upper Pisang 3300 m - Braga 3360 m.

Upper Pisang

Of course, you can shaman for the weather as much as you like. To smoke weed, to cast spells and disperse clouds with your hands, but nature will still decide as it needs. And usually those plans don't match yours.

It rained all night and all morning. There was nothing to be done: we put on all our raincoats and jackets and stomped on the lower path. It would be suicide to go up.

Stomping in the rain is not the most pleasant thing. You get tired quickly, the mood is so-so. But to be honest, it has been worse. And all these whims of nature are forgiven for the amazing views and hot tea. It's worth it. Oh yeah!

Braga from above

Day 6. Acclimatization. Milarepa Cave 4000m. Braga - Kangsar.

Walk higher, sleep lower - the iron rule of alpine trekking. Well, we went too. From Braga there are two options: 1) Ice Lake 4600m or 2) Milarepa Cave 4000m. Guess where we went?

That's right, on Milarepa, there's nothing to tear * experience for the sake of a puddle at 4600 m ... We need to be healthy, not kill ourselves. Moreover, a beautiful “puddle” awaits us in a couple of days - Lake Tilicho.

To say that we quickly ran down the hill and returned is not a lie, but to embellish reality. They crawled like turtles, sat and looked at the tiny world - more like the truth.

After lunch, we took our backpacks and moved towards Lake Tilicho. We stayed overnight in a very authentic and semi-abandoned village of Kangsar. It was difficult to find a decent lodge: there are only three of them, and in addition to trekkers, there are severe Nepalese rats. The neighborhood is not the most pleasant, is it?

The owner of the lodge was so happy with the five tourists that she sang songs all evening, jumped for joy and cooked us delicious fried rice. I fell asleep without hind legs without noticing the rat neighborhood. The guys are not so lucky. It's good to have a sound sleep after all!

Day 7. Kangsar - Tilicho Base Camp 4150 m.

Lake Tilicho is one of the most beautiful and my favorite places on the Annapurna circle. It is not included in the “standard program in 2 weeks”, as it is located a bit away from the main trail. However, it is worth it to spend the extra 2-3 days of the hike, strength and a little headache.

To go to Tilicho base camp is not that difficult, how much scary: the trail runs along a loose slope (friable) and this section must be run quickly and silently, otherwise “the sikir will hit the head”.

Immediately, donkeys, horses, trekkers returning from the base camp are walking towards them and sometimes it is difficult to get away with them (but no one has yet fallen, although you will not find there). In fact, at such a height, you walk in a state of comotosis and do not notice the abyss below. Fun and dangerous. And who said it would be easy?

The morning began with an unexpected uphill climb for the body ... My body did not want to accept reality, but we had already crossed the line when it was possible to turn back. Now only full speed ahead. Whether you want it or not. You won't creep in like that! The pass is close!

Then there was the worst thing on the whole track: looseness. Not for the faint of heart. You look down, and there is a cliff for kilometers! You look up, and there are stones that just want to fly into your head .. Quickly, without breathing, on the last reserves we crawled to Tilicho base camp - 4150m. We climbed not sickly, right ?!

And all the same, the guys have lured! The sky parted and showed us snowy peaks. He who dreams of mountaineering will understand me! There are only 2 things in the world that are worth living for: love and mountains. Well, okay, okay .. More sea, kittens and condensed milk.

How you want cola and nutella, damn it! And climb that top over there! Dreams Dreams..

Tilicho Peak

Day 8. Tilicho base camp - Lake Tilicho 4919m - Sri Kharka.

"Let's get together, let's go out!" - straight army regime, but how else ?! Step two, rest, photo. Step two, rest, sip of water. One step, two, and when did you stop there?

The ascent to the lake takes 4 hours. All the way it twists and crushes you, there is no strength to go. The body and the brain are completely different things. The brain gives a signal “come on, come on, go ahead”, and the body says “I can’t, I don’t go, I don’t want to” .. But I want and will go!

The road to lake Tilicho

Last steps to Lake Tilicho, 4919 m

All this obscurantism brightens up Tilicho Peak, along which there is an ascent. There was a lot of snow this year! A turn, followed by another, and another. Where is that damn lake? The flags become visible and here it is - sky blue, reflecting the sky, peace and glacier ...

Day 9. Sri Kharka - Yak Kharka 4050m.

Where is Shambhala located? Definitely in the Himalayas! How can you describe mountains in words to someone over whom these snow thugs did not rise?

You can't conquer mountains, you know? Because mountains are individuals, with their own character, mood and energy. Say now - bullshit, these are stones! But this is not garbage .. The mountain can start up, it can kill, it can appear in all its beauty, or it can hide behind a cloud. Mountains are personalities. And if you treat them with respect, they will become your best friends.

While we were walking to Yak Kharka, in translation yak pasture, a huge and hairy yak blocked our way. It's like a cow, only sooooo hairy. Of course, we began to take pictures of him and shoot him - you don't often see such a handsome man.

View of Gangapurna and Annapurna from Yak Kharka

Day 10. Yak Kharka 4050m - High Camp 4850m.

- "Where is the shower here?"
“There is no shower here, no one has ever washed the blankets here, the water and toilets freeze here, and the only warm place is by the stove.”

How do you imagine a shelter at an altitude of almost 5000m? Shower? Maybe a sauna, massage and a French restaurant? Honestly, we were lucky with the weather, September turned out to be very warm and we took a hot shower every day, excluding High Camp (it is not there and is unlikely to be there).

If you didn't die on the rise to Tilicho, you will die on the rise to High Camp. Of course, you can stay in the lower shelter Torong Pfedi, but then you will die in the morning. Better now. In addition, climbing 400 meters up in the dark is dangerous and, to put it mildly, there is no path.

Slowly, without sudden movements, the mountains do not like rush. In full strength and health, we climbed 4850m to the sky. There is no turning back. You won't creep in like that! Pass tomorrow.

High Camp | High Camp | 4850 m

Day 11. High Camp 4850m - Torong La Pass 5416m - Muktinath 3800m.

Now it will definitely flatten! A crowd of humanoids, green men and just perverts. I belong to the latter. Trekking to Torong La Pass is not a place for beautiful views. This is a time for reflection, talking with God and overcoming yourself. I have not yet seen a single person who crawled briskly to the pass and said "wow, I want more." But I saw crawling, green, recumbent and even hysterical people half way to the pass ..

The road to the Torong La Pass

I love the miner, it's funny to watch the split of the body - you want to go faster, but you can't. The head is cracking, the limbs are numb, freeze, breathing is heavy, the legs do not obey. Full surveillance state.

And now the flags are visible - victory! You could, crawled! For me this is a feat, not a peak, but a height - 5416! So? Further down the most difficult section is still ahead.

On September 27, at 8:33 am, the first group Around Annapurna, codenamed “Three Sashis and Two More,” successfully passed the Torong La Pass at an altitude of 5416 meters.

Urrra !!! We congratulate all the participants with the height and wish you new personal victories, peaks and mountains! You are great fellows! Hugs, victory photo and down, and so the miner flatters.

Torong La Pass | 5416 m | Thorong La Pass | Track Around Annapurna

Someone dies on the way to the pass, and I die from descending from it .. Here's an extreme: 2000 meters down, 4 hours of killing knees. Whoever has sore knees will understand me .. But no matter what the doctors say, I will go to the mountains! Then I'll put in the titanium ones and start jumping like a goat, but for now, with tears, on painkillers or on the ass - down.

In Muktinath we went to dinner at a Russian lodge. Ukrainian borscht with Nepalese flavor after a couple of weeks of fried rice was a Michelin-starred dish! If you are walking the Annapurna Circle, be sure to stop by Dmitry and taste his borscht! I will give you the address, and you will give me a recipe from Dmitry. Did you agree?

Day 12. Mukitinath 3800 m - Kagbeni 2800 m.

Do you believe in places of power? Believe it or not, they are. Muktinath (in ancient times Shalagram) is a sacred place for practicing Hinduism and Buddhism.

Muktinath is located in the Mustang district at an altitude of 3710 m. Hindu pilgrims call this place Mukti Kshetra (“place of liberation, salvation, healing”), Buddhists call it Chumming Gyatsa (“one hundred sacred waters”), the place where goddesses Dakinis live, who bring healing and well-being.

Here is one of the 8 most sacred Hindu temples - a small ancient temple of Lord Vishnu. Behind it there are 108 sacred springs with ice water, which are located in a semicircle. It is believed that a pilgrim who takes a bath in 108 springs is cleansed from the sins of his previous life. Tempting, huh?

A couple of hours and you find yourself in another holy place - Kagbeni, a small Tibetan village on the border with the forbidden kingdom of Upper Mustang and at the source of the Kali Gandaki River.

View of Kagbeni, Mustang Valley and the Forbidden Kingdom of Lo
Kagbeni, Mustang, Nepal, Himalayas, Track Around Annapurna

Here, at the bottom of the Kali Gandaki River, lie the shilagram shila, which are not hundreds of millions. Some consider them fossilized molluscs, others as deities. One way or another, the sacred “stones” can be found right in the riverbed. I found! They are beautiful.

Day 13. Kagbeni 2800 m - Marfa 2670 m.

The dust flew in the face, the wind lifted stones, carried them down, but we walked ... Through the famous breeze of Kali Gandaki. Have you heard of this?

90% of the groups finish the “circle” after descending from the pass. Some of them leave in jeeps or buses, some fly away in a corn truck. Moreover, the latter fly only early in the morning and only in good weather. And all because in the Kaligandak Gorge (the deepest gorge in the world, for a second) madness begins from about 12 noon: a wind tunnel with a furious wind flow. We couldn't miss this.

Wrapped in buffs and wind-blowers, we crawled towards the cutest Tibetan village of Martha. Only warm memories of this village and dreams of a delicious dinner helped me not to despair. Wind Kali Gandaki stubbornly continued to drive us back. Endless dust then flew into the eyes, nose, ears .. it seemed to me that she was everywhere, even in shorts! Then I checked and it was so ...

Insanely tired from the struggle with the elements, we reached the place of our overnight stay. Martha is a small Tibet in Nepal. On the narrow streets of Martha, Tibetan refugees live their measured lives. They go to a Buddhist monastery, pick apples, sell trinkets made from old Tibetan coins and welcome tired travelers to their lodges.

In this village we and we finish our hiking part of the track Around Annapurna. Tomorrow a local bus (which is still an attraction!) Is waiting for us, which will take us to the hot springs of Tatopani at a speed of 10 km per hour along the cliff. Do not sit by the window especially sensitive!

Day 14. Martha - Tatopani 1200 m.

Nepali local bass is the line between madness and fun. Stuffed like sprats in a bank, passengers are shaking along the edge of a cliff in a broken-down bus where everything is kept on scotch tape at a speed of 10, well, maximum 20 km per hour. On top of everything else, bags, boxes, cans, backpacks and even beasts are thrown over the top.

The first rule of bass locale: there is always room. Even when it seems to you that there is nowhere to shove that grandmother with a box of chickens, the Nepalese will find where.

The rule is codenamed “gave baht”. About every hour the bass stops at dal baht (devour). All passengers, led by the driver, order themselves a dal baht (Nepalese rice with pea stew, happily gobble up and then vomit the floor of the road just as happily.

All this orgy, so that it was more fun to go accompanied by M. Marijuana? Alas, no .. Music - something Nepalese positive and squeaky screaming for the whole bass.

Oooh yes! It doesn't convey any description. But this must be experienced. At least once, otherwise there will be nothing to remember .. And what are we living for? Only for the sake of vivid memories! What do you think?

In the evening we went to bask in the hot springs of Tatopani. A big bathroom with a bunch of people in swimsuits warming my bones after the trek. High! Even though I don't like hot bathbut after the trek there is nothing more beautiful and relaxing.

Day 15. Tatopani 1200 m - Pokhara.

- Where did you rest? - In Turkey, where everything is included. And you? - And I'm in the mountains, where "everything is OFF"

We went down to Pokhara and settled in the Lakeside tourist area, which is very different from the whole city and from Nepal in general. Lakeside is a small Europe inside Nepal: cafes, restaurants, shops, ATMs, various agencies, hotels and even a huge supermarket! All this stretches along a long street along the beautiful Phewa Lake. If I lived in Nepal, it would certainly be on Lakeside, where you can spend infinity looking at the lake and mountains.

For entertainment, you can rent a boat and go for a ride on the lake. Sail to the other side, leave the boat below and climb the Peace Stupa, from where a stunning view of the entire Annapurna massif opens.

We will not talk about all the interesting places in the capital of Nepal, you will find on the links above detailed descriptions sights.

On the fourth day, a hiking trip (track) begins. After climbing to a height of 790 meters, we enter the Khudi village. This is the first village inhabited by representatives of the Gurungi people. It is from them that the famous Gurkhas, famous for their valor on the battlefields, are recruited into the British and Indian armies.

They are very famous for their curved knives. Their edged weapons are called "kukri", you can see it in our article. They are also known for their inability to swim. Therefore, the use of the Gurkha detachments in the war is seriously limited, since they incur heavy losses drowned when crossing rivers and landing operations.

Do not think that apart from rice fields and peasants, there will be nothing to see along the way. From this area open beautiful views to the Himalchuli and Ngadi Chuli mountains. The Annapurna massif itself is still far enough away, but its view is already mesmerizing.

On the fifth day we will have a small descent and a passage through the suspension bridge and the most beautiful mountain waterfall "Suyanzh" at an altitude of 1070 meters. After that we will go to the Hindu temple in the village "Jagat". The next section of the path passes through the forest and takes us to the village of Chamzhe at an altitude of 1400 meters, where the group stops for the night.

Tibetan influences are already being felt in Manang District. If you pay attention during the hike, you will notice how the architecture of the buildings and the clothes of local residents change.

During the seventh day, we must reach the capital of Manang district - Chame village. Where else can you see the capital of the district of the state, which is home to only about 1300 people? To get here, you need to walk to the village of Tianzha (2360m), then go through the forest to the village of Kopar (2590m), and from here walk a little to Chame (2630m).

Despite its small population, Chame is a regional center. There is a bank here, and you can change money or withdraw cash from a bank account. There is an equipment store in the village, but with a rather modest selection. And there is the Internet, which causes genuine joy for many tourists.

There is a road to Chame that can be used by an off-road vehicle. But further on our way, vehicles can no longer pass.

On the ninth day we leave Pisang in the direction of Manang village. There are two routes here. The first one runs south of the Marsuangdi River, and the second one to the north. The northern route is easier and will delight us with a large number of picturesque mountain views. After passing through the villages of Mungzhi and Bryangda, we will find ourselves in the large village of Manang (3520m).

In Manang, the group stops for one day, as the body needs to acclimate to mountain conditions. It is a fairly large settlement, and most of the 6,500 residents work in the field of tourism. Here is medical Center, which employs specialists in "altitude sickness". This brings some element of safety to the trip, in case of problems, specialist doctors are nearby.

In the next three days (11, 12 and 13) we have to leave the valley of the Marsuangdi River and go through the mountain passes and valleys to the Thorung La Pass. We will pass through the villages of Ledar (4250m) and Phedi (4420m).

This is the highest point on the route of this track. The pass is located at an altitude of 5416 meters. This is even higher than the base camp of Annapurna itself, where its route passes for tracks. Higher can be climbed only during.

It is a sacred site of Hinduism, one of the most important in Nepal. The Muktinah Temple is called the place of liberation, where one can easily attain the state of “mukti”. We will not talk about this in detail, since this is a very complex topic.

On the fourteenth day, after spending the night and a short rest in the village of Muktinakh, we move on to the city of Jomsom. It is located at an altitude of 2770 meters, and you will have to go from the mountain, which makes the journey much easier.

Those who still want to continue the track stay and follow the route further. Spend the night in the village of Marpha, famous for its apple orchards and apple liqueur.

On the fifteenth day, the group goes through the villages of Kobang and Larjin to the settlement of Gkhaza. On the sixteenth day we will arrive at the village of Tatopani. The very expression “Tato pani” is translated from the Nepali language as “hot water”. Everyone can swim, and usually all tourists are interested.

By the way, the expression chiso (or tiso) pani is in Nepali " cold water". The word" pani "itself means" water ", this can come in handy if you want to ask for water in a restaurant.

On the seventeenth and eighteenth days, we will pass through the villages of Ghorepani and Nayapul and arrive in the large city of Pokhara. Of course, we won't miss the opportunity to go early in the morning to Poon Hill, which offers a stunning sunrise view as the sun rises from behind the ridges of the Himalayan mountains. Perhaps this is one of the brightest impressions of this track.

From Pokhara we will get by car to Kathmandu, from where tourists fly to their homeland.

This is where this journey ends, read about other tracks in Nepal and about the country ( links below).

Travel plan

ARRIVAL IN KATMANDU
Welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal! You will be met at Tribhuvan airport and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Participants arrive during the day. Meeting with a guide and a group. The guide helps to exchange money for local rupees, checks the equipment, helps to buy the missing ones. If you have free time after organizational issues, you can walk around Kathmandu and go to local temples. Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath or Bodnath stupa. Swayambhunath is a small town of Buddhist temples, monasteries and Hindu religious buildings. From the top of the hill, where Swayambhunath is located, a magnificent panorama of the Kathmandu Valley opens up - a colorful green basin surrounded by majestic mountain peaks. Boudnath is a huge stupa where you can climb the steps and touch the eyes of Buddha.
Overnight at a 3 * hotel.

FROM KATMANDU TO CHAMJA (1430 m)
Early in the morning departure by minibus to Besisahara (8 hours). On the winding serpentine you will pass through many small villages. Having reached the village of Besiskhar, the guide marks the permits at the check post. Then we go by jeep to the place where the track starts - Chamje.

TRACK FROM FROM CHAMZHE TO DARAPANI (1920 m)
Rise at 6:30 am - 7:00 am.
We pass to the other side of the river along the suspension bridge. The mountain trail rises to the Tal valley, constantly following the course of the Marshangdi River. On the ascent to Tal there is a tea house where you can relax and drink tea. Tal is a very picturesque village, with beautiful houses, all in flowers and green gardens. The place of today's overnight stay is Darapani, a typical Tibetan village (1920 m).
4.5-5 hours on the way.
We stop for the night at the guesthouse.

TRACK FROM DARAPANI TO CHAME (2700 m)
Rise at 6:30 am - 7:00 am. Today our target is the Chame village (2700 m).
Today we have to go through a dense forest of bamboo and rhododendron, and enter the Manang region.
On the way, you can turn to Odar village. The trail was laid there recently. We pass through small villages that tourists have recently begun to visit. Before Timang, we also turn off the main path and walk through a wet, shady forest, at the end of which we cross the suspension bridge and get to Timang. In good weather today there will be an opportunity to see Manaslu. The ending point is Chame, the center of Manang district.
6 hours on the way.
Night at the guesthouse.

TRACK FROM CHAME TO UPPER PISANG (3300 m)
The beginning of the journey is by road, then villages with large apple orchards and apple processing factories begin. Then, after the bridge, a small steep section in a dense forest.
The road is surrounded by Himalayan peaks all the way to Pisang. Annapurna II (7937 m) rises majestically above Pisang itself. In Upper Pisang in the evening you can go to a Buddhist temple. After receiving permission from the monks, you can stay there during the service.
5 hours on the way.
We stay overnight at the guesthouse.

TRACK FROM PISANG TO MANANG (3570 m)
Exit to Manang. There is little rain here even during the monsoon season over the Annapurna Ridge. The contrast between vegetation and landscape can be noticed: the cold, harsh climate leaves its mark. The area is teeming with tall cliffs and exotic rock formations that contrast with the Himalayan peaks.
After Upper Pisang there is a small flat trail through the forest. Then, after the chortens and the suspension bridge, a steep climb to the village of Ghyaru (3670m), which is completely invisible from below until you get close. In the middle of the rise, a single guesthouse with a friendly hostess and a shady tree in front of the entrance. It is very useful here to relax and drink tea. Ghyaru has a beautiful monastery and chorten. Further, after the village, there is a long traverse with an ascent, leading to a small pass. Right behind it is Tea House and delicious pies. But do not rush to gorge on, less than 30 minutes ahead of the village of Ngawal, where you need to dine.
Further, the transition to Braga - a very beautiful village with a monastery and a small grove next to it. It is surrounded by rocks on three sides, very warm and windless. The rocks themselves are also very beautiful, soft sandstone, intricately cut by wind erosion. From Braga approx. 30 minutes before the entrance to Manang, passing by many chortens and all the same bizarre rocks. And all this against the backdrop of beautiful views of Annapurnas 2, 4 and 3.
7-8 hours on the way.
Night at the guesthouse.

VILLAGE MANANG, SIGHTSEEING.
Rest day in Manang. Today is the day of acclimatization. Stunning views of the peaks of Annapurna 2,4,3, Gangapurna, Tilicho and others. According to the forces and capabilities of the group, this day can be spent in different ways. Here you can observe a stunning view of the Gandapurna glacier and the lake below it, as well as all five peaks of Chulu. You can make a radial hike towards Lake Tilicho to the village of Khangsar 3730 m, which is very good for acclimatization. You can, for those who feel enough strength, go to Ice Lake. Climb 1 km. 4-6 hours
Radial exits from 1 to 5 hours.
Night at the guesthouse.

TRACK FROM MANANGA TO YAK KARKA (4020)
Our transition today cannot be called difficult, but the height is felt. Leaving Manang we pass by fields of buckwheat and wheat. These fields look unusual against the background of the snow giants of Annapurna. Suddenly, on the right, the Chulu peaks, more than 6000 meters high, open up. Today's goal is a small settlement Yak Karka. Beautiful view to Annapurna 3 and Gangapurna.
Night at the guesthouse.

TRACK FROM YAK KARKA TO TORUNG PETI (4540m).
Today we have to approach the town of Torung Petit (4540 m). Around the lifeless mountain desert. There are many yaks. But at a halt, you can buy apples, which are sold right on the trail.
The next day we will cross the Torung La pass.
3-3.5 hours on the way.
Night at the guesthouse.

TRACK TORUNG PETI (4540m) - lane TORUNG LA (5416m) - MUKTINATH (3800 m)
The most difficult day of the trek. Wake up early and leave at dawn at 5:30. We are going to cross the Torung La pass (5416 m) and it is important to get out early in order to have time to complete it in a day. At first, a steep ascent (1-1.5 hours) to High Camp (4850 m), then a gentle and long ascent to the pass. The difficulty of this crossing, however, will be rewarded with magical views of the Himalayan peaks and views of Lower Mustang. A landscape very different from anything on the track. Then begins a long descent to Muktinath, the most famous pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal.
7-8 hours on the way.
Night at the guesthouse.

TRACK FROM MUKTINATH TO JOMS (2720 m).
Wake up and enjoy the view of Dhaulagiri (over 7000 m). After breakfast, drive to the nearby settlements of Jong and Jarkot. The walls of the 14th century fortification have been preserved in Jong. Unusual views for these places. There is also a Buddhist school-monastery of the Sakyapa tradition. In Jarkot, there are clay statues belonging to the Bon religion.
On the opposite bank of the Muktinathu river, Jong Khola, there are caves. They are clearly visible from the road.
The land here is similar to Tibet, the same wild and lifeless and at times you feel completely isolated. Then the descent to warmer areas begins. From Jarkot to Kagbeni we go by regular jeep.
Walk to Kagbeni. The houses in Kagbeni are stone and stand very close because of the constant winds in the Kali-Gandaki valley.
From Kagbeni to Jomsom by regular jeep.
3-4 hours of walking. 1-1.5 hours by jeep.
We stay in Jomsom in the guesthouse.
