But after looking through the environmental magazines "Svirel" presented at the exhibition "The mysterious world of plants", young readers will be able to learn about the miracle tree, the largest on earth, and what herbaceous plants grow leaves and buds under snowdrifts in winter.

The book “Animals, Plants. Myths and legends". This is a luxurious edition - large format, great illustrations and very interesting text. The book introduces the biological characteristics of plants and animals and the myths and legends associated with them. The authors of the book are leading scientists.

The Most Amazing Plants School Guide will tell you about killer plants, bottle plants, mutant cabbage and many other amazing plants.

In addition, readers will find at the exhibition a unique brightly illustrated edition - “Red Book. Plants of Russia ". It tells which plants are disappearing and which are threatened with complete extinction, and whether they can be saved. Readers will find out why a particular plant is listed in the Red Book, how to recognize it in nature, where it grows, as well as its meaning and application by humans.

In general, Red Data Books are different: national, international and regional. The first attempts to combine in one publication all the disappearing representatives of flora and fauna were made by mankind in 1963, then the first, still very meager list was published. They decided to call it red, since it is this color that signals the important, what needs to be highlighted and emphasized.

It is the various editions of the Red Data Books - about species of plants and animals that are under threat of extinction: “The Red Data Book of Russia: Animals”, “The Red Data Book of the Earth: Animals”, “The Red Data Book of Plants” - will be found in the library reading room at the exhibition. The exposition features 11 illustrated books, among which there is also local history literature - about reserves and national parks of the Irkutsk region, about the unique Lake Baikal. The editions will acquaint young readers with the phenomenon of Baikal exclusivity.

The main tasks of all the deployed exhibitions are to contribute to the formation of an ecological culture in the younger generation, to draw the attention of children to environmental problems, and to foster a respectful attitude towards nature in them.

On April 15, within the framework of the Year of Ecology, libraries of the Ustyansky District took part in the All-Russian Library Action "Day of Environmental Knowledge". On this day, various events took place in the libraries at the same time: conversations, creative workshops, environmental lessons, quizzes and much more.

The Day of Environmental Knowledge was held in the Central District Library. An information stand was prepared for the readers on which documents on environmental protection, the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, laws, regulations, rights and obligations of citizens were posted. In the sections "Economics" and "Ecodata", interesting facts on this topic are presented. On this Day in the library, for all readers, a review of the books presented at the book exhibitions "Ecological Calendar" and "Through the Book - Love for Nature" was conducted. On the day of ecological knowledge, librarians conducted educational lessons for students of the Ustyansk industrial technical school and students of the Ustyansk children's art school and showed an electronic presentation "Traveling through the pages of the Red Book." The librarian introduced the Red Data Book of the Arkhangelsk Region, and the children listed the representatives of flora and fauna, which they knew, included in the book.
Pupils of the Correctional School in Kizemskaya Library # 2 made a literary-ecological cruise "Travel with a drop of water". The guys tried to find out why we need water. With the help of the presentation, we went down the river and ended up at the bottom of the ocean, were able to get acquainted with amazing and unusual marine life. In the game "Who is this?" determined who was in front of them: a fish or a plant. The Journey through the Red Book was conducted by the librarian of the Bereznitsa Library for the 4th grade students of the Bereznitsa School.
