Run off the grass popular and well known to people at the time of Seraphim of Sarov. She was not only treated, she was used in hungry years for nutrition. Seraphim Sarovsky said that he ate one snail for three years.

Now the townspeople do not even know what it looks like to moan.

Buy herb or find it in nature - which is safer.

Runny is a herb our great-grandmothers. This is true, because they knew her well, and did not confuse her with other herbs. After all, cicuta is very similar to dullness, which has another name for poisonous. If the cow eats the milestones, it will certainly die. This is especially dangerous for people who do not know to runny since childhood, for whom grandmothers did not cook soup from dreaming, they did not prepare salads from dreaming, this herb was not shown in their own garden.

Flowering plant. There is a lot of dreaminess in the forests, but it is difficult to recognize it, because in the dark under the forest canopy it does not bloom.

Therefore, it is worth buying it at a pharmacy or online store, if it is not sold at the local pharmacy.

After all, to prepare a mixture for a soup from caraway seeds and caraway seeds, you need to dry caraway seeds.

The medicinal herb to runny is a plant of our great-grandmothers.

The health benefits of dreaming were clear to our ancestors. Although they did not know that the blueberry contains a lot of vitamin C, and iron, manganese, boron, titanium, copper, they used it in the spring as an early green after a long absence of natural fresh plant products on the menu. Recovering themselves after winter.

Beautiful greenery. There are forms with variegated leaves.

They knew how to heal wounds with the grass-grass, healed the sick joints, mutilated by rheumatism and gout, after winter works in the cold, the work of the kidneys and the bladder was restored.

The benefit of sleepiness is also that it can improve the functioning of the stomach and intestines, and tune. This means that it can help you lose weight, build up, in whatever form you use it, even sour, even salty, even dried. And best of all in the fresh spring.

This plant is so harmless to humans that it itself contains the principle "Let food become medicine, and medicine become food."

She was food for many people.

Run away. Recipes.

Dream salads. The first salad requires horseradish and sour cream, and the herb of dream. First pour boiling water over the dream leaves and let stand for about ten minutes, then remove from the water and cut. Grate or grind horseradish in any mill, season everything with sour cream and salt. For one part of the horseradish, you need to take six or seven parts of the dream. And salt to taste.

For the second salad, you need to dry and sorrel. They need to be well rinsed, water removed from them, which is easy to do with a centrifuge. Chop the greens. Or pluck, like picking lettuce leaves. Carrots, boil potatoes. Chop the boiled vegetables, garnish them with greens and sorrel and pour the mixture over the top vegetable oil and hot tomato sauce. The quantity of products can be conveyed in the following proportion: "fresh snow: sorrel: potatoes: carrots: vegetable oil: sauce \u003d 80g: 20g: 50g: 10g: 5g: 15g." Salt, as always, is added to your liking.

Dream soup. It can be named a little differently, by the name of any herb that is included in it. And in the composition there are, in addition to sleepiness, leaves of mallow, plantain, etc. And carrots, onions, turnips. Onions and carrots are taken quite a bit: carrots for beauty and bright spots in the plate, onions for sweetness. They need to be slightly warmed up in any fat. Cook the oatmeal almost until tender, then add the fried vegetables. When the base of the soup is ready, add all the herbs to it and cook for a few more minutes. Not long, so as not to destroy the main vitamin C, which is found in these herbs in large quantities. Spoon sour cream into a plate and serve. It is not worth reheating such a soup, so as not to lose everything for which it actually prepared.

Runny with potatoes. Potatoes and dreams are taken equally. are extinguished separately from the dream, because they need different times. Then, whitewash, onions, dill, sour cream, tomato sauce are added to the finished potatoes, even if purchased, but preferably homemade. Salt and cook. It takes a little time, just a few minutes.

Salty runny. Here is the following calculation: for every kilogram of prepared greens of dream, 60 grams of salt is taken. Greens are placed in jars, sprinkled with salt, everything is well compacted with a crush or pestle. It is important for the juice to stand out. So fill the jar to the brim. You need to wait for almost all of the juice to stand out. Then they close it with an ordinary plastic lid and store it either in the refrigerator or in a cold cellar. This is good for soups.

Dried whitewash. like dill and parsley. Used for making sauces or soups.

Such glades can be seen during flowering on light edges.

Runny is a herb unique. As, however, many herbs of our Russia. I would like to remember them and not be afraid to use them for food. Better them than overseas wonders, about which they write that they save from forty diseases. Where are they before our dreams!

Food plants

Man divided all plants into medicinal, food, for animal feed and poisonous. Therefore, any, even very familiar herbs, are not considered by us as food plants. A lot of...

It all started with Bradbury or dandelion salad

My family didn't like dandelions. Not all, but only those that designated themselves yellow spots in the beds. The rest were almost indifferent if ...

Actually, each of these plants deserves a separate post, but I put them together because it is more convenient to indicate their similarities and differences from poisonous umbellates (and among umbellates there are deadly poisonous ones).

Here are our edible and wholesome whites, angelica and hogweed:

common hogweed.

There is one problem with the hogweed: Sosnovsky's hogweed
can cause burns (photochemical burns that occur when the juice of Sosnovsky's cow parsnip gets on the skin on a sunny day in some people), while in general the cow parsnip is edible plant, for which the famous borscht is named. However, Siberian hogweed is used for food (which, despite the name, is mainly widespread in Europe and the East European Plain).
Siberian hogweed.

Actually, both species grow in the Moscow region.
In any case, it is recommended to use only young shoots and leaves in hogweed, and before using them it is better to pour boiling water over them. But this is whoever he wants.
I personally walked in the thickets of hogweed (either ordinary or Sosnovsky) - and nothing happened to me.
Well, more to the point.

So which umbrella are poisonous?
These are cicuta (veh), hemlock.

Here they are:

As you can see, the main difference between hemlock and hemlock from hogweed, dreaming and angelica is in the leaves. They are at poisonous plants finer section, feathery.
This is important to remember, because you cannot tell by smell whether this plant is poisonous or not: cicuta, for example, has a celery aroma.

I would be wrong if I forget to mention the medicinal uses of these poisonous plants.
Hemlock ointment is used externally for certain skin diseases, rheumatism and gout.
Hemlock remedies are used to treat sarcoma, whooping cough, and some even cancer.
However, since both plants are deadly poisonous, I would strongly advise against anyone touching them at all. And, of course, keep children away from them.

Now back to dreaming.

Dream ( Aegopódium)- one of the most common food wild plants. Perennial herbaceous plant from celery (umbrella), which, for example, include carrots, fennel and parsley.

Distributed in Eurasia. Often grows in the shade in whole canopies under trees. It grows well only in fertile belts rich in humus, so if you collect soil in the forest for, for example, indoor flowers, look under the dampness.

Salted, fermented, pickled, dried; used in cabbage soup, borscht and seasonings.
As a rule, before use, it is recommended to scald with boiling water.

Here are some recipes.

Dreaming salad: pour boiling water over young leaves of dreaming and let stand for 10 minutes, let the water drain, grind, add grated horseradish to taste, season with sour cream.

Stew stew: stew chopped young leaves and shoots until half cooked, combine with stewed potatoes and onions, add sour cream, add tomato sauce after 10 - 15 minutes.

Another salad: cut into small pieces, add wood lice, salt, season with sour cream.

Cold soup: add chopped whitewash, green onions, dill, a little cucumber (or cucumber herb) to the base of kvass and post-sour milk.

Runny with potatoes: potatoes and runny are stewed separately; runny - with a little water; the onion is fried. All this is combined with potatoes and a little tomato juice is added.

Angelica ( Angélica) - a plant common in the Northern Hemisphere and New Zealand.

The plant is biennial, reaching a height of 2m. Loves light, grows along rivers and streams.

Young unblown buds are eaten, while young stems and leaves. You can do anything with angelica: ferment, stew, add to cabbage soup, etc.

Here is one recipe: unblown angelica buds are boiled in salted water (but so as not to boil), rolled in bread crumbs and fried on sunflower oil... It is used as an independent dish and as a side dish for meat and fish.

A decoction of angelica roots is used for gastrointestinal diseases, bronchitis, kidney disease and whooping cough.

Hogweed.

I will analyze the use of specifically Siberian hogweed ( Heracléum sibíricum)... As I mentioned above, it is widespread not only in Siberia, but mainly in Europe.
Also known as pican, pig, bodran, gigol.
It is found everywhere.

Siberian hogweed juice is the least toxic of all hogweed, but if you are afraid, boil it in boiled water before using it, as I said earlier.

Young shoots, cleaned of bark, are used for food; petioles of shoots are pickled; young leaves go to salads and borscht. By the way, the name "borscht" comes from this plant. By "borscht" our ancestors meant the sharp jagged edge that distinguishes the leaves of the hogweed.

Caviar is made from hogweed, and the soup broth from it smells like mushrooms.
Eating cow parsnip is similar to cauliflower: it is boiled, pies are stuffed with it, added to scrambled eggs and fried with onions in oil.

Decoctions from the roots of hogweed are used for epilepsy, jaundice, kidney disease.

Aegopodium podagraria
Taxon: family Umbelliferae or Celery (Apiaceae)
Other names: sleep, snitch, daglitsa, marsh kupyr, yaglitsa, dead-clock, yaglychka (ukr.) rustle (ukr.)
English: Goutweed, Ground Elder, Bishop's-weed, Bishop's Elder, Ashweed

The Latin name of the plant is derived from the Greek words "aegos" (genitive) - goat and "podion" - leg, since the shape of the upper part of the leaf resembles the footprint of a goat, "podagra" - rheumatic pain in the legs, trap

Description of ordinary dream

- a perennial herbaceous rhizome plant. Stem, usually glabrous or short pubescent, slightly furrowed, up to 1 m high. Basal leaves are simple, double-trifoliate with petioles up to 40 cm long. The length of the leaf blades reaches 10–30 cm, the width is 15–35 cm. ovate, with a sharp-serrate edge, pointed, rounded at the base, wedge-shaped or unequal, 4–12 cm long and 1.5–7 cm wide on short petioles. Closer to the apex, the size of the leaf blades gradually decreases, and their structure is simplified to trifoliate. The flowers are white, small, in multi-rayed umbrellas located at the ends of the shoots. Calyx with invisible teeth. Fruits are oblong, slightly compressed laterally, 3-4 mm long. Blooms in June-July. Fruiting in July-August. Due to the large number of seeds, as well as the abundance of buds on the rhizomes (up to 6000 per plant), the runny multiplies quickly, it is very difficult to eradicate, therefore it is considered to be a malicious weed. It does not bloom in highly shaded areas, forming a dense cover of basal leaves.

Common runny grass

Common runny is widespread in almost all regions of Europe, in Western and Eastern Siberia, in the Caucasus and in the Sayan Mountains, in the mountainous regions of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. In Ukraine, it grows in forest and forest-steppe zones. It is often found in deciduous, mixed and spruce forests, between shrubs and in clearings, forest glades and floodplain floodplains, near residential buildings and livestock buildings, in parks, forming extensive thickets.

Useful properties of ordinary snake

Sleep has long been used in Russia as a food plant. In the spring, her first seedlings were especially important for enriching the diet. There was even a phrase “to live to the point of dreaming”.
It is known that the Monk Seraphim of Sarov spent three years in continuous fasting and prayer, feeding on nothing but despondency. It is not surprising that he called it "food", meaning "food, delicious food." So, he told one sister of Diveyevo: “I myself cooked a meal from snitch. Do you know snitch? I tore it up and put it in a pot, pour a little, it used to be water in it - a nice meal comes out. For the winter I dried the snitch and ate this one, and the brethren wondered what I ate. And I ate a snitch ... ".
This extraordinary herb helped out in the harsh years of the Great Patriotic War. In the spring and summer of 1942–1943, dream leaves were widely used in canteens in the capital. Catering workers went out of town to prepare this plant for the winter.
Snipe is still used for food. Fresh greens are added to soups, cabbage soup, okroshka, salads, borscht instead of cabbage, and also pickled, salted, fermented, dried and used to give dishes a peculiar aroma.

Vitamin salad

The leaves are washed, chopped, mixed with finely chopped green onions, dill and parsley, salt, season with sour cream and sprinkle with chopped boiled egg.
Ingredients: 100 g of dream leaves, 20 g of green onions, dill and parsley, 1 tbsp. spoon of sour cream, 1 boiled egg, salt.

Stew with potatoes

Young leaves and shoots of dreaming are finely chopped, salted, stewed until half cooked. Then they mix it with stewed potatoes and onions, add sour cream, stew for another 10-15 minutes and season with tomato sauce.
Ingredients: 100 g of leaves and shoots of snow, 100 g of potatoes, 1 onion, 1 tbsp. spoon of sour cream, 2 teaspoons of tomato sauce, salt.

Pickled leaves of common dream

Young leaves of dreaming are tightly placed in sterile jars, poured with marinade, put a few grains of pepper. Used as a side dish for meat and fish dishes.

The chemical composition of the dream

Chemical composition ordinary dream has been little studied. The plant identified carbohydrates: umbelliferose, glucose, fructose; cyclitols: scilite, glucinol; lectins; coumarins: umbelliferone, bergapten, xantotoxin; steroids: β-sitosterol; nitrogen-containing compound choline. The aerial part contains vitamins: ascorbic acid, carotene; flavonoids: quercetin, kaempferol, as well as their glycosides; amino acids: arginine, histidine, leucine, lysine, threonine, valine, methionine. Using HPLC, the content of the polyacetylene compound falcarindiol in various plant organs was determined. The largest amount of this substance accumulates in flowers and is 0.088%. The content of essential oil in the aerial part of the plant is low (up to 0.04%). It contains limonene, β-felandrene, sabinene, α-, β-pinenes, myrcene, α-geraniol, α-thujene, γ-terpinene, terpinolene, camphor, citronellol, linalool acetate, isoborneol acetate, terpineol acetate, ionone. The amount of vitamin C in 100 g of leaves is 65-100 mg. The content of ascorbic acid increases by autumn. The mineral composition of the leaves of dream is represented by a number of micro and macro elements. We have found a significant potassium content - 3.8–8.3%. There are Ca, Fe, Si, P, Mg, Al, Mo, V, Cu, Ga, B, Ti, Zn in dreams. In the lipophilic fraction, the chlorophyll content was determined - 1.5%; identified unsaturated and saturated fatty acids: palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, arachidonic. In the stems and leaves of the dream, there are organic acids: malic, citric. Inflorescences contain carbohydrates: glucose, fructose, umbelliferose; phenolcarboxylic acids: chlorogenic, caffeic; flavonoids: quercetin, kaempferol, kaempferol diglycosides; choline; the essential oil content is 0.14%. Dream fruits also contain essential oil in the amount of 0.04%; flavonoids: quercetin glycosides.
In the underground part, polyacetylene compounds have been identified: falcarinolone, falcarinone, falcarinol, falcarindiol, cis-heptadecadiene 1,8-diyne-4,6-diol-3,10, heptadecadiene-1,5-diyne-4,6-diol-3,10 , cis-acetoxyheptadecadiene-1,8-diin-4,6-ol-3, trans-10-cetoxyheptadecadiene-1,9-diin-4,6-ol-3-one-8, (2-cis, 9- cis) - heptadecadien-2,9diin-4,6-ol; higher aliphatic carbohydrates: pentadecane; phenolcarboxylic acids: caffeic, chlorogenic; coumarins: angelicin, aperin; choline; saponins

Medicinal properties of common dream

Snipe is widely used in folk medicine... As a rule, fresh or dried leaves of the plant, as well as rhizomes, are used.
Snipe has tonic, detoxifying, antihypoxic properties. It is rich in vitamins, macro and microelements. Therefore, herbal preparations help to normalize metabolic processes, improve the general condition of patients. They are used to prevent and eliminate hypovitaminosis, iron deficiency anemia. Russian scientists point to the prospects of using slime to reduce the general toxic effect of anticancer drugs.
The use of dream in empirical medicine for edema, kidney and bladder diseases has become the basis for an experimental study of the nephrotropic effects of the plant. It has been established that galenic preparations of the aerial part of the dream can enhance the excretory function of the kidneys, as well as the renal blood flow. The mechanism of diuretic action, its severity depends on the dose of the drug, the conditions of the experiment. The diuretic effect of sleepiness may be associated with phenolic compounds (hydroxycinnamic acids, coumarins, flavonoids). In addition, the aboveground part of the plant contains a significant amount of potassium. The accumulation of potassium is probably a metabolic feature of the plant, since the amount of this element is small in the corresponding soil samples. Potassium salts can be involved in the implementation of the diuretic action. Moreover, they are important for the prevention of hypokalemia, which often develops with the use of diuretics.
Currently, one of the main requirements for drugs used in kidney disease is the presence of nephroprotective activity. This integral type of activity may include a diuretic effect as one of the mechanisms, but not the only one. Promising nephroprotectors are herbal preparations characterized by multifaceted pharmacological activity and, as a rule, a high degree of safety. As the results of our research have shown, dry extract of dream can be attributed to such preparations. It has a pronounced nephroprotective effect on experimental models of kidney damage with various pathogenesis. The nephroprotective effect of the dream extract may be associated with diuretic, hypoazotemic, antioxidant and antiexudative properties.
Sleepy, which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, is used in folk medicine for rheumatism, arthritis, arthrosis. Its Latin name also testifies to the long history of the use of common sleepiness for gout. Recently, the anti-gouty activity of sleep has been experimentally substantiated by the ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX), an enzyme that provides the synthesis of prostaglandins. Thus, plant extracts inhibit COX-1 in vitro, which is associated with the presence of falkarindiol and other polyacetylene compounds. The results obtained by us in experiments in vivo also indicate the anti-inflammatory activity of the plant, due to a complex of biologically active substances. Moreover, sleep drugs have a beneficial effect on purine metabolism. Preliminary data support the efficacy of sleep drugs in a purine metabolism disorder model. Sleepy tincture increases diuresis and excretion of uric acid salts in intact animals under conditions of spontaneous diuresis, surpassing olimetin in the severity of the effect.
Sleep preparations in connection with anti-inflammatory, emollient, wound-healing properties are used externally for exudative diathesis, wounds and bedsores, erysipelas, fungal skin lesions. The antifungal and antibacterial activity of the falcarinol and falcarindiol contained in sleep has been confirmed experimentally. These polyacetylene compounds also have cytotoxic properties. Their antitumor effect in vivo has been confirmed.
The lipophilic fraction obtained by us from the leaves of the common dream contains chlorophylls and carotenoids, which exhibit a pronounced antioxidant and antimicrobial effect, promoting regeneration, as well as unsaturated fatty acids, which have a number of beneficial metabolic effects. This fraction seems to be a promising source for obtaining drugs for local use.
There are indications of the sedative effect of sleep and its use in empirical medicine for neuroses. When cardiovascular diseases the anticoagulant and antihypoxic properties of the plant can be very valuable. Sleepiness also finds application in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which is associated with a choleretic effect, the ability to normalize digestion processes. The plant is also used in homeopathy. Common snake is a part of the complex food supplement "Seaweed - Optima", which is recommended for the prevention of cancer, normalization of the gastrointestinal tract.

Additional Information

Withdrawn decorative form dream with green and white leaves, which is used in landscape design (photo 2).
The beauty of this plant inspired I. I. Shishkin to create several paintings, one of which you can see in photo 3 "Runny-grass" Pargolovo. 1884-1885.
Runny belongs to pigment-forming plants; it is used to paint fabrics in green and yellow colors.
The plant, attracting insects, is a good honey plant, each inflorescence secretes up to 60 mg of sugar per day, and up to 2.5 g of honey is collected from one plant during the flowering period.
Gluten is eaten by livestock, used to obtain forage silage.

In gardens and parks, tall grasses with snow-white flowers are often found. Summer residents do not particularly like them, because in the gardens they act as a weed, which is difficult to get rid of. Lovers medicinal plants treat inconspicuous grass in a different way: they know that it is called "ordinary dimness" and has many healing properties... The Latin name of the plant "aegopodium" translates as "goat's leg". Sneak was named that way for a reason: part of the leaf is similar in shape to a goat's hoof. Among the people, snake has many names: daglitsa, grandfather, swamp bush.

In the wild, the whitewash grows in deciduous and coniferous forests, in areas without forests, in meadows. She prefers moist soils. The plant is found in the European region of Russia, in Siberia, in the east of Europe, in the Transcaucasus and Central Asia.

Common runny often grows on summer cottagesfilling everything free space... Gardeners know this plant because it is considered a weed, and it takes great effort to get rid of it. However, few people know what a treasure trove of vitamins and nutrients they are throwing over the fence. The plant belongs to perennial herbs, belonging to the umbrella family. The plant has a long, creeping root system, on which a large number of buds and seeds are located, allowing the grass to form real thickets, connected by common roots.

In the wild, the whitewash grows in deciduous and coniferous forests, in areas without forests, in meadows

Snych has a tubular straight stem branching from above and reaching a meter in height. The grooved stalk may be completely naked or covered with the finest hairs. Simple leaves are located at the roots, they take an elongated shape, resembling an egg. On the front side, the leaves are bare, and on the back side, there is a slight pubescence. Leaves with sharp ends in length reach ten to thirty centimeters. The leaves on top are smaller and are kept on short petioles.

The flowers form an umbrella-shaped inflorescence. Each umbrella includes fifteen rays, which bloom snow-white flowers with five stamens and one pistil. Only an umbrella bears fruit located in the middle of the inflorescence, the extreme rays are unable to form fruits. Dream bloom continues throughout the month, starting in the middle summer period and ending in some cases in the last month.

Dream flowers are converted to fruits

The flowers are transformed into fruits, which are elongated four-millimeter two-seedlings. They are colored brown and are fractional and flattened on the side. The fruits reach maturity in August. Seeds that have taken root in the soil show their first shoots in late spring. Reproduction takes place by vegetative and seed methods.

It is important to properly collect and prepare the snow in order to get more benefit from it. The plant is harvested before the buds appear, the harvesting season is late April - early May. Leaves are mainly used for medicinal purposes. Thickets growing in humid places covered with shade have better taste and health qualities than those grown in the sun. To prepare the plant for the winter, it is recommended to collect it during the growing moon. Dreaming can be found in forests, meadows, orchards and vegetable gardens.

The collected grass is dried following some rules. Prepare blank sheets of paper on which grass is spread in a thin layer. The paper is placed in a shady place where it cannot be penetrated. sun rays... The grass is not washed before drying. The plant is stored in paper bags or cardboard boxes.
