Surface preparation

Remember to shake the can thoroughly before spraying and repeat this procedure from time to time. Work slowly, making sure that the primer is evenly applied to the prepared surface. Keep a can of primer at a distance of 25-30 cm from the surface. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly and apply another coats or two, allowing time to dry. To make the drying process go faster, you need to think over the airflow. For this, a construction hair dryer or, in extreme cases, the wife's usual hair dryer is suitable. In any case, it is better to start painting the next day so that the primer is completely dry.

Painting and varnishing

Well, the surface of the disc is primed and dried, which means that you can proceed directly to painting and varnishing. It is advisable to choose paint and varnish from one manufacturer and read the instructions before use. The technology of these processes is similar to the priming procedure. It is better to paint on a spread piece of polyethylene or cloth to avoid dust getting on the surface to be painted. Apply 2-3 coats of paint at intervals of 10-15 minutes and 2 coats of colorless varnish with the same interval. After applying the first coat of varnish, check the surface for unevenness and, if necessary, sand with sandpaper or abrasive paste. • when cleaning products under high pressure check whether special brushes are used during this procedure that do not violate the integrity of the coating;
• do not treat wheels with thinner or gasoline.

If you decide to paint, then the first thing to be puzzled about is to purchase the required materials. The primer, paint and varnish should be chosen special for wheels: acrylic for disks, acrylic colorless varnish, anti-corrosion acrylic primer - they are resistant to mechanical stress. Use spray paint for painting small items. Any solvent will work; the sandpaper should be fine - suitable for rubbing away scratches, not creating them. As detergent shampoo for washing a car is suitable, in extreme cases, an ordinary washing powder.

Before priming, the discs must be cleaned and washed from dirt and corrosion products using a brush with a plastic bristle, for washing in hard-to-reach places perfect fit toothbrush... You can start priming the disc. Apply 2-3 coats of primer with 15-20 minutes between coats to dry. Wait until the primer is completely dry.

When the primer is completely dry, you can start painting the disc. Also apply 2-3 coats of paint at intervals of 15-20 minutes. Apply the paint evenly, avoiding smudges. After the paint has dried, you can apply varnish, it is also applied in 2-3 layers with an interval of 25-30 minutes. Wait until the varnish is completely dry, you may have to leave the discs to dry overnight, then turn the disc over and repeat the painting procedure on the back of the disc.
