In the newspaper "Pacific Star" an article by A. Chernyavsky "Roll" from Königsberg to Mudanjiang ". It tells about the combat path of the veteran of the 346th Rifle Regiment of Hansevich Vladimir Iosifovich. Here are excerpts from the article:
On May 2, 1945, our 346 red-known orders of Alexander Nevsky Ragow Regiment (commander - Lieutenant Colonel Kiselev Andrei Vasilyevich), which is part of the 63rd rifle Vitebsk red-known Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov Division, plunged into the echelon at Norciten station and moved in an unknown direction.
On June 6, Echelon arrived at the Manzovka station (Primorsky Krai) and after unloading put forward to the dislocation area - in the field where the arrangement of the summer tent camp began. Soon replenished. These were Spring Call Soldiers, born in 1927, past 2-month courses of a young fighter in curriculum. All of them were from the North Kazakhstan region. The daily, painstaking study began. On July 15, the regiment left the camp and moved to the district of Grodekovo. Movement took place at night, in the afternoon rested, observing all the masking measures. After a few nights, he arrived in the area of the upcoming battles, taking positions in the area of the height of the "pear", located on the opposite side of the border, held on the collapse of the stream. After the rains, he turned into a stormy river. Equipped trenches, dug up.
Our 63rd division had to break through the defense at one of the 17 fortifications, which were built by the Japanese from our borders. Each reproduction is 50-100 km on the front and up to 50 km deep in the territory saturated with various defense facilities.
The height of the "pear" was the center of one of the most powerful fortifications, it was built with dots (long-term firepoints) that could withstand the shelling tools of large caliber. Underground dota transitions were connected to neighboring heights. At the top of the height, an observation point was equipped, which allowed to overcome far deep into our territory. The height was laid the road connecting with the central areas of Manchuria.
In the first days of August, a large group of officers from the division headquarters led by the Division commander of Major General BB arrived in the regimentation area. Gorudovikov. He was in a field shape with the elaborates of the senior. After inspecting the border, the regiment commander was ordered together with the skewed battalion of the Division to combine our dirt road with Japanese, which passes near the height of the "pear".
The next day the sappers arrived, two T-34 tank came, with their help they struck the track that connected two plots into one way. Tanks caused a stir on the Japanese side. The head of the Japanese border guard appeared, demanded a meeting with the senior commander. After the "negotiations" work continued. Our company was instructed to ensure the safety of the work of the sappers. The order was brief: "Weapons do not apply." By the end of the day, the sappers were performed their work, made some of the forest, harvested on the Japanese side, and our dirty road joined Japanese. In the future, this road played a big role in the offensive operation of the 5th Army.
The beginning of the war was approaching. On the basis of our battalion, an advanced detachment was created, enhanced by the platoon with a group of communication with a radio station. Before the detachment there was a task - to move forward with the maximum pace, without interference with the protracted battles. The company commander received a map.
August 8 dinner passed two hours earlier than usual. After dinner, there was a construction of a battalion, which was reported that the Soviet government announced the war of Japan. Everybody was issued cartridges, grenades, dressing packages, dry laces. Clouds appeared in the sky, I froze rain. At this time, border guards came. These were our guides. After a while, a group of soldiers with border guards went in the direction of the Japanese border guard. Soon the messenger appeared from this group and told the Kombat that you could move - the personal composition of the Japanese outpost was destroyed. Over a torrential rain, with continuous outbreaks of thundering discharges, our advanced detachment crossed the border.
The offensive began without artillery preparation, using night and shower for a sudden attack. It was necessary after the border pass to quickly go into the area of the location of the object number 1 (so it was designated on the map). It was a big garrison with a major communication node, a battleship point and an army group headquarters.
Our first fight was so rapid that the enemy did not have time to have organized resistance. Disrupting the defense and communication system, our detachment has created favorable conditions for the maintenance of the main forces in the breakthrough. Soon, from the height of the "Pear" began to commemorate the cannonade of a strong battle. It entered into battle the main forces of the Division.
The detachment was moving on, deep into. By evening, we began to catch up with the groups of the Japanese - these were border guards and soldiers from crushed garrisons. They were aggressive, had to use power, which caused losses and on our part.
Night approached. Curled to the country road, walked, were located on vacation. By the map, judging, we left the border for 20-25 km. Released №32 - it was a railway station. The main forces of the garrison in front of our arrival were departed towards the city of Mudanjiang, leaving a small detachment that entered into battle with our intelligence and was completely destroyed. They received an order to protect the railway bridge and expect the regiment approach. The next day of the regiment approached. Our detachment for "rest" took place at the end of the column, and the regiment moved forward, at Mudanjiang. At the main direction of the onset of the 5th Army, the Japanese continued continued. On August 13, the battles started on the approaches to the city of Mudanjiang. Here and fierce battles flared.
The neighbors of our army, part 1 of the red-known, coming on the cities from the north, broke into the outskirts of the city, had heavy street fighting. Parts of the fifth army, advancing on the city from the East, were detained at altitudes in front of the Mudanjiang River. The Japanese, firmly strengthened at altitudes, blocked the promotion along the road of our artillery and tank parts. There were no other ways to crawl. By this time, a critical situation was created at our neighbors who entered the city. Under the Nachis superior enemy forces, they were forced to leave the city. The situation required to strengthen the onslaught to assist the neighbor. In the morning, our advanced detachment was introduced into battle with the challenge to knock the opponent with the dominant height and ensure the passage of the pontoon part to the Mudanjiang River and crossing the crossing.
We climbed into the attack, but when they reached wire barriers not destroyed by artillery, confused occurred. At this time, a flurry of fire fell out of the surviving junction. The detachment of discarded on an outdoor slope among the many corpses of the participants of yesterday's battle. There was a heavy corpse smell that prudently acted on the soldier. It was necessary to urgently take action. The commander of the detachment makes the decision to undermine the jot with grenades. We sent two fighters from our platoon. There was enough time, the explosion did not follow. Then the commander of the company orders me: take two fighters and forth. Lifting to the dzota, soon stumbled upon the fighters sent earlier - they both died near him. They took grenades from them, crawled on. It was possible to get relatively close, it was seen how the jet of deadly fire was spawned from the ambrusuras. Throw grenades. The explosion covered the jot, the machine gun stopped the fire.
The detachment rose and rushed forward. We quickly jumped into the trench, which went from the dot's deep defense. At that moment I was wound. The soldiers had the first help, removed the gymnaster - the wound turned out to be big, covered his shoulder and forearm. Bang. I was left in the trench. Soon the shooting stopped. The height was taken and a column with pontoons and other technique moved along the road to the river. The path to the city of Mudanjiang was opened. The next day, August 16, the city was taken. Later in the hospital at the dressing, the doctor said that such an injury happens from the discontinuous bullet Duma Dum.
For us who fought, the memory of the war is still alive. We will remember her until the end of their days. All 25 young guys from the platoon will never forget, with whom I had to fight in Manchuria with Japan. Five of them died in the fields of Manchuria, thirteen were injured, the seven remained in the ranks. All of them today in my army memory.
From the memories of the veteran of the head of the foreman, Henova, Alexey Alexandrovich, granted by his granddaughter - Elena Koretko, Perm:
The formation of the 63 rifle division began in the village of tropping. Here on the formation of profits from the North-West Front 45 and 86 Rifle Brigades. Of the two brigades and spare regches were formed 63 Rifle division, which became part of the 3rd reserve army. 346 Rifle regiment was formed in the village of Selivanovo under the command of the commander of the regiment of Major Ivanov Nikolay Alexandrovich and headquarters of the senior lieutenant of the Resurrection Peter Ivanovich. Henov was distributed in the company's company, whose commander was Captain Gultyaev, his deputy in the construction part was the Senior Lieutenant Uroarenaya Nikolai Demyanovich. After the work on the discharge of divisions was completed, on May 4, 1943, the regiment was published in the Baldas forest, where the combat training of personnel began. On May 20-23, the regiment committed 100-km march and focused in the vicinity of the Village of the Village, Yukhnovsky district. The village of Germans burned back in 1941, one house remained from it, in which the headquarters of the regiment was located, all units are located in the forest. The regiment again engaged in combat training, regimental, divisionary teachings were carried out, everything went to the fact that he would soon be in battle.
07/10/1943 The third reserve army received the name of the 21st army and 12.07.1943 march headed to the West Front. Martial baptism Division accepted at the Spas-Demenia.
In the area of the village Semenovka (height 237.3), the Germans tried to push our troops and take possession of the Highway Dear. 08/20/1943 Under the onslaught of numerically superior enemy forces, our part, defending it, began to retreat. The division directly from the march entered the battle.
Three days were fierce battles, the Germans were injected into battle fresh reserves, they were allowed to fight "Tigers", their aviation dominated the air. For 12 attacks on the day, our artillery and infantrymen were discouraged, Semenovka village passed several times from hand to hand several times. After making sure the unsuccessfulness of his offensive, 08.24.1943 the attacks stopped. The regiment suffered great losses, but the highway remained in our hands. We were replaced by newly arrived parts, the regiment went on vacation. After a short rest and bring in order divisions, 08.29.1943 The regiment began an offensive in the Smolensk direction.
On the first day of the offensive, the regiment was taken by the village of Bushnya, the Hangger, Mikhailovka and the box of the box. 08/30/1943 at 19.00, together with other parts, the regiment broke into the town of Yelny and took it. German aviation for two days by massive air raids bombed the city, but it remained in our hands. In the battles of the city of Yelny, the head of the headquarters Captain Voskresensky Pyotr Ivanovich was seriously injured, the commander of the regiment Major Ivanov Nikolay Alexandrovich, Deputy Commander of the Regiment on the Building Part of Lieutenant Colonel Zolotov Konstantin Nikolaevich. Temporarily commanded the regiment, the head of the division of the division Major Pirogov, Alexey Ivanovich, Head of the headquarters arrived from the department of personnel division Guard Major Litvin. For the capture of Yelni Division, IGK Stalin was gratitude.
5-6.09.1943 In the Smolensk direction, the regiment took the village of Novo-Teshevo and High Leonovo. In the area of the villages of Small Teshevo, Buda and Lyakhovo, Germans tried to stop our offensive. There, the Germans had a pre-prepared defense: three lines of trenches and a natural obstacle - a deep log. Having tightening the reserves and artillery, in the afternoon of September 15, 1943 our offensive began. In artillery preparation, Katyushi was given a particularly large density of fire, our aviation was actively operating. The German defense was broken, the Germans suffered colossal losses, their trenches and the log were littered with corpses.
Departing, the Germans burned Smolensk villages. When we entered in the settlements, the ashes and dear corners remained there on the site of houses. As a rule, the Germans retreated at night and their retreat was accompanied by firefight. Everywhere there was a flame ahead, and every soldier knew when the Germans retreat. Passing through Smolensk, instead of villages and villages, we saw a plank or as they were called "pointers" with the inscription that there was such a settlement. Often we saw such "settlements" overgrown Byrian - the right sign that the Germans burned them in 1941. A new command arrived in the regiment: Commander Shelf Major Lysenko Anton Karpovich, Chief of Staff Major Belov Grigory Vasilyevich, Deputy Commander of the Regiment on the Terminional Part Major Kiselev Andrei Vasilyevich. The regiment is located on holidays in the log 200 meters south of the village of Zerovichi and was preparing for new fights.
We were in the second echelon, 09/23/1943 went to the march. Darkness, rain, dirt on the knee, at dawn reached the crossing through a small river, but there were so many parts, and the ripple was weak, that we stayed under a torrential rain until the evening. In the evening they reached the village of Ptahovo, again the march, stop in the village of Laptevo. 09/26/1943 Switch coolant and again march. In the area of the village, the New Village 10.10.1943 Germans occupied defense. The regiment ranked the original frontier in the area of the former village Baevo. On the approaches to the position, busy enemy, lay the shaky swamp. It was the border separating the Smolensk region from Belarus. Smolenshchina was already almost completely released.
12.10.1943 Regiment began an offensive. On the narrow section of the front, the Germans focused a large number of artillery, tightened human reserves. On the approaches to their positions there was a shaky swamp, which did not have any success. The right of us was the offensive of the Polish Division. The Germans were violently resisted, their aviation dominated the air and bombed our combat order from sunrise. For six days we fought on this site. Finally, 19.10.1943 We brought us out of battle. Having made a small march, we got into defense in the area of Nikitino village.
Being in defense, we insulated the enemy, did not give him peace at night. Our snipers acted well. Intelligence officers with their audacious night searches, then they were damaged by German "languages."
01/27/1944 The regiment was taken to rest in a miraculously surviving the village of Sumyche. After a monthly rest, on 02.28.1944, the regiment made a march under Orsha, where he again had to lead an offensive for a new village. Early in the morning, 03/07/1944 Artillery preparation began. For nine days, heavy, stubborn battles were conducted. The swamp turned into a huge puddle, day water and dirt, at night - frost. It is impossible to split as it should be, water. Losses are big, no success. 03/10/1944 The commander of the regiment Major Lysenko Anton Karpovich was killed and his adjutant Lieutenant Levchenko Andrei Tikhonovich. The command of the regiment took Major Barsers Semen Vasilyevich (later, November 1944-September 1945 Commander 297 of the Rifle Shelf 184 SD, Lieutenant Colonel) from the 291 rifle regiment 63 of the Rifle Division.
Finally, we were replaced by newly arrived parts and we marched in vitebsk. Exhausted so long bloody battles, we barely kept on the legs, the view of everyone was terrible. Under Vitebsk, in the area of the village of Kutkchka, the regiment took the defense, the command of the regiment was adopted by Lieutenant Colonel Roman Naumovich (later, July-September 1944 Commander 297 of the Rifle Shelf 184 SD), who arrived from the division frame department.
The defense we occupied was extremely unfavorable. We defended Vitebsk-Orsha's highway on a rather narrow plot. This site was well visible by the opponent and, noticing the slightest movement, the enemy opened the frantic artillery fire. Their reconnaissance aircraft "Frame" then also appeared over our defense, and after him, all times one after another followed artillery raids. Shells the Germans did not regret and, as we saw later, their reserves were huge. We were all the time in a state of tension, the opponent is still strong and he is here, nearby, you can expect anything. A new commander of the regiment arrived - Lieutenant Colonel Sidorov Petr Maksimovich, preparation for new fights began.
The Western Front was divided into three Belarusian. Our 63rd Rifle Division, who was commanded by Major General Laskin, was part of the 5th Army, which was commanded by Lieutenant Wings, and the army in the 3rd Belarusian Front under the command of the Chernyakhov army general.
June 22, 1944 began the mass offensive of our troops throughout the front. We had it so: on the night of June 22, reconnaissance battle was made, the operation was successful. In the morning, art preparation began, which lasted two hours. The Germans had weak resistance, their long-term defense was broken, an offensive began. The Germans hurriedly retreated, throwing equipment, ammunition and various military property. June 23, Vitebsk was taken, the division moved towards Minsk.
For a breakthrough of deeply echelonized defense of the Germans and the capture of Vitebsk Division, a gratitude of the VGK was announced, a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR was assigned to her the name "Vitebsk".
For four days of offensive fights from 22 to 25 June 1944, the regiment was freed from the German invaders of 37 settlements, among them: wobbies, antovyl, stapler, minority, Alexandrovo, Oolov, Hodorovka, Harry, Heat, Oslochina, Rybets, Pistons, Kaplanov, Prist other. The opponent has 23 guns from different calibers, 7 machine guns, 3 warehouses with ammunition and 2 warehouses with engineering property and many other property and weapons. Released more than 10,000 people from fascist slavery.
The offensive of our troops was so rapid that the retreats did not have time to blow the bridges. Pursuing the retreating enemy, we made Machi 60-70 km per day. Inspired by the success, we walked day and night not knowing the rest, slept on the go and in short priges, pouring into the hot days.
The division took part in the environment and destruction of the German garrison in Minsk, as well as the scattered enemy groups, which were in the rear of our troops.
July 1, 1944 at 14-00 forced the Berezina River, at noon on July 2, the former border with Poland switched to Western Belarus. July 3, 4-00 entered Buclav. Belarus is almost completely freed from German invaders, we go on Lithuania. The Germans are trying to stop our offensive, but in vain. Where the resistance was found to our parts, artillery and aviation fell on the heads of enemies.
In the town of Maisagola, the Germans held three days, but it was completely intertwined, only the church survived the miracle. Everything else turned into piles of bricks and ruins.
The division participated in the environment and destroying the German garrison in the capital of the Lithuanian SSR city. On July 13, for the capture of Vilision, the Division was announced thanks to VGK.
On the night of July 13, 1944, the regiment was forced the quick River Vilia. The safe forcing the river was also assisted that it was a small rain, the sky clouded clouds and aviation enemy was not. The Germans, in all likelihood, their efforts were directed to the preservation of the Vilnius garrison, and the regiment did not meet more obstacles to the crossing. But when forceing Neman, on the night of July 16, a lot of effort and smelters were required, as the German shore was greatly strengthened, preparation was required to work in a bridgehead. The crossing contributed to the fact that our shore was covered with the forest, and the enemy's shore completely did not have vegetation, even bushes. Artillery was tightened and installed on the edge of the forest, on the direct tip. When darkness came, only one platoon of volunteers on the remedies began crossing the Neman. The Germans opened fire on them, finding their firepoints in the dark. For our artillery that stood on a straight flooring, it was necessary. To suppress the firepoints of the enemy, our artillery wrapped his whole power in the position of the Germans, the platoon was safely moved to the opposite coast, captured all the enemy's projection means and returned to their shore. The firing points of the enemy were depressed, a mass crossing began through Neman. Germans led only a weak rifle fire and our losses did not have.
Two battalions have already forced Neman and took a bridgehead on the banks of the enemy when the regiment received a new task: to destroy the grouping of Germans, trying to break through to the help of garrison in a wine, but produced into the ring by our parts. Leaving the combat cooling of the disheveled bridgehead behind the Neman, the regiment began to fulfill the new task. With the help of the tank part, the surrounded group was eliminated, after which the regiment moved to Kaunas.
Kaunas was the fortress of the Germans, its approaches were protected by reinforced concrete dots and the forts left since the last world war and improved by the Nazis. But the Red Army had enough experience and means to destroy such fortifications and this time has coped successfully. At about four o'clock in the morning, 08/01/1944 The regiment together with other parts joined the city. Residents met us with flowers, treated fruit, wine, invited to visit.
Deeping, the Germans blew up all the bridges across the Neman River, but it did not stop the promotion of our troops. The pontoon crossing and parts with military equipment crossed the Neman, starting the persecution of the retreating opponent.
Immediately after the liberation of Kaunas from the Hitler's invaders, residents began to build a temporary bridge through Neman. A few days later he was ready, the promotion of military goods and equipment did not have a delay.
August 1, 1944 For the capture of the fortress and the city of Kaunas Division, the gratitude of the VGK was declared, the decree of the USSR PVS was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.
August 17, 1944 Lithuania was released. Our regiment was first published on the border with East Prussia at 3-00 August 17. Rota of Senior Lieutenant of Korotitsky Ivan Evgenievich in the area of East Border Tower No. 50 and the north of a tower No. 52 forced Sshuup's River and the Prussian villages of Glaubele, Berzhieningen and Grosceninsbroh occupied on its eastern shore. But having received an order about the departure to its territory, the company went back and the regiment took the defense. On this day, Korotitsky died in battle. For the exit first to the border with Eastern Prussia, the Military Council of the Front announced the division of gratitude.
On August 20, the regiment passed his defense section of the 558 rifle shelf and was moved to a plot in the area of Synta. Here, being in defense, during the art printing an opponent of our positions, the commander of the regiment was injured Lieutenant Colonel Sidorov Petr Maksimovich and his deputy Major Ankudovich Vadim Ivanovich. Major Kiselev Andrei Vasilyevich was appointed commander of the regiment, before that he held the position of Deputy Commander Shelf on Building Preparation. Captain Korzhan Petr Makarovich arrived at the post of depolita.
In the breakthrough of German defense, our division has already accumulated a considerable experience. Well rested after summer battles and hiking, October 16, 1944 Division again began a breakthrough of German defense at the border with East Prussia. But, taking advantage of our respite, the Germans have further improved their defense and considered it impregnable.
We faced the task - to break into the lair of the fascist beast. The first two days of fighting had a slight success. On October 19, the resistance of the Germans was finally broken and in the area of a small town of Naphibes (now Vladislavov), breaking through the defense of the enemy, crossed the border and went deep into the territory of East Prussia by 30 km.
The defense of the Germans on this site was really durable: several lines of trenches, barbed wire, fores, anti-tank pivops and a minefield. In the depths of defense, powerful reinforced concrete dots were built. In addition, in the border strip, which seemed, at first glance, innocuous buildings, in fact were supporting points. Along the border there were no villages, only the farm mainly brick buildings, with the walls of an extraordinary thickness, the basements are concreted and in them special windows - embrasures. Attic rooms are usually brick, in them accommodation. The Germans used them as observation points, often there were machine-gun firepoints that were fire on our infantry.
On October 28, our offensive ended, the regiment was taken to rest in the place of Abshruten on the territory of East Prussia. For a breakthrough of the powerful, deeply echelonized defense of the Germans in the Eastern Prussia division was declared thanks to VGK.
Going to rest, we again took up combat training.
January 13, 1945 the offensive has begun throughout the 3 Belarusian front. Later we learned that the offensive began everywhere, on all fronts at the same time.
For two and a half months, our Germans have strongly strengthened and not only prepared for the reflection of our offensive. They prepared themselves to emphasize with the intention to oust our troops from East Prussia. Good intentions, but they were not destined to come true.
Two hours of artillery preparation did not bring us success, we could not move forward for two days. I had to additionally work artillery to break the opponent's resistance. Finally, he began to retreat, but retreating, then it was also trying to gain a foothold on pre-prepared defensive borders. For the first five days, we have moved forward just 40-45 km, and then the onset rates began to grow every day. For participation in the Defense breakthrough, the Germans of Division again declared thanks to VGK.
We occupied the settlements of Pimkallen, Stalludenen, Gumbinnin and January 21, 1945 seized the city of Insterburg - an important node of communications and a powerful fortified area of the Germans on the way to Königsberg.
In the Insterburg, large trophies were captured by our parts, many different food and various military assets. There were no residents in the city, the hasty of their flight was felt everywhere. In many apartments you could see a covered table and unfinished lunch. Traders left their stores and fled with retreating Nazis. From the long-range guns, the Germans subjected the city to the strongest shelling, day and night the city burned and collapsed, bold up the streets with brick and wreckage of buildings.
For the capture of the city of Insterburg Division was announced thanks to VGK. For a breakthrough of defense in Eastern Prussia, Division was awarded the Order of Suvorov of the 2nd degree, and 346 Rifle regiment was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky (Decree of 19.02.1945).
The population of East Prussia left with retreating Hitler's armies, leaving cattle and property. Finally, they experienced the fate of our people in 1941.
Soon the civilians began to come across. We were going to meet Poles, returning to the homeland. There were Russians who fled from German slavery.
Forces of two fronts - our and 2nd Belorussky, the Germans were clamped in ticks and pressed to the Baltic Sea. We occupied one by the other settlements. Finally, took the city of Kreuzburg, Tiphental place. Despite the presence of spring dirt and rains, the pace of the offensive was not reduced, we moved to Königsberg.
In the area of the town of Tifenthal, the Army General General, twice the hero of the Soviet Union Chernyakhovsky died twice. The front began to command the Marshal of the Soviet Union Vasilevsky.
The Germans were pressed against Freshes Gaf Bay. Their further departure was only possible on the spit, the width of which places were not more than 400 meters. This single path of waste from the shore was all the time under the fire of our artillery. From the sea, the ships of the Baltic Fleet ships were the fire, the aviation of both fronts was not indifferent. The extermination of the fascist conquerors here was in the full sense of the word.
On April 10, 1945, the last fortress of the Germans in East Prussia was collapsed - the city of Königsberg. For several days, the division was fighting for the city in the southwestern direction. Finally, part 11 of the army on April 9 broke into the city and with the help of parts of the 5th army on April 10 mastered the city. Above Koenigsberg developed a red banner.
On April 17, the German grouping in Eastern Prussia was completely defeated, the remnants of the German army were polled. We came close to the Baltic Sea.
For participation in battles in Eastern Prussia, Henov was awarded the second Order of the "Red Star".
So, from Kaluga to the shores of the Baltic Sea, our glorious 63 Rifle Vitebsk red-known Order of Suvorov Division was held in hikes with cruel battles with Hitler's invaders.
On the way back from Freshes Gaf Bay through Rinau, Mettekim, Najken Station, Cylein, Wangen, Lero Bindizen, Foil Legitten, city of Labeau, Tateberg, Lukishken, Povangen, Kraku, Vedan, Kleinflis, Strinland. Having stopped on April 20 in the North Court led themselves in order, they really washed in the bath, and moved smoothly in the summer form. Celebrating on May 1, May 3, march moved to the Narchatten station. Here we were filed cars, their equipment began, then loading. Soon they moved into the path and, having arrived by our recently taken by us, we left East Prussia.
On May 9, 1945, the Molodechnaya station - Western Belarus, Echelon, was stopped and declared a rally on the occasion of victory over fascist Germany. At the rally, the head of the Political Division was made by Colonel Kuzmin. There was no limit to joy. In the echelon, the walking began, the inhabitants of the Molodechnoye station took the moonshine. On this day, we all liked everything, the day of the desired victory over fascism came, drank for victory, the end of the war!
Minsk drove, in Moscow, Echelon brought to the Kazan road, the way is clear - follow the Far East.
We drive the city Kazan, Sverdlovsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk. Finally, on June 9th arrived at the Manzovka station, where they unloaded. We were stationed 7 km from the Manzovka station, at the foot of large hills, in the houses built from the tents.
Replenishment arrived, combat training began. We were preparing to reduce scores with Japanese samurai. Division was commanded by the hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Gorodovikov and again in the 5th Army under the command of Colonel-General Krylov.
In July, they made a march in the direction of the border with Manchuria and focused in the area of the Mountain of Bear, kilometers away from the border and 12 km from Grodekovo Station.
Our 5th Army was part of the 1st Far Eastern Front, which was commanded by Marshal of the Soviet Union Meretkov.
Preparation for the offensive entered into the last stage, some of our divisions were already on the border and led the observation of the opponent. On August 6, after a short march, we went up to the border and focused in the area of the Potato Sopgia.
Between the hillock "Potato" and the fence occupied by the opponent, fired swamp. The enemy's hill was covered with forest, and we have only slight bushes. During the day before the occurrence, one of the mouth, having received the order of the regiment commander, moved to the enemy's enemy, disinterested the forest and the discharged swotto above. At the same time, the Japanese did not follow a single shot.
Early in the morning of August 8, without any art preparation, as it was always in the war with the Germans, our divisions together with the border guards switched to the border, destroyed the border posts of the Japanese and began to delve into the territory of Manchuria. There were several kilometers when the Japanese tried to detain our parts. From sobes, where dots were built, they opened fire according to us, but our self-propelled guns quickly cleared the path of infantry, destroying them.
Rising on the hill and looking back it was clear what avalanche of troops and technology moves deep into Manchuria and it was clear that no power is able to stop it.
The Japanese Quantongy Army, dirty on the whole world, on the very first day of our occurrence began to retreat, without resisting. But the roads from the border of the country were bad. The Japanese, apparently, thought only to attack and did not build roads. The first days we moved slowly, then the pace of the offensive every day began to grow, but the campaign was not easy to: Soping, swamps, mountain rivers - there was the path of our troops.
On August 10, we took the Khobay station, on August 11, the Golden Priisk, August 13, the city of Mulin, August 15, Madaoshi station. Already here, individual parts of the Kwantung Army began to give up. We see entire columns of samurai, following the prisoners' team points. Among the captured many Japanese women, apparently, wives of officers walking in columns with kids behind their backs.
On the approaches to the station and the city of Mudanjiang on August 18, the Japanese tried to resist. In the interaction of artillery and aviation, resistance was broken and our parts seized them. On August 20, Dunhua Station was taken, and on August 21, Girin was entered into the city, where they disarmed the Japanese garrison and were located in their military town on the outskirts of the hin.
Kwantung army capitulated. Our regiment on this military action finished, and soon they were completed everywhere. For 13 days along the hills and swamps, in the unbearable heat, we passed almost 500 km.
On August 23, 1945, the Supreme Commander Comrade Stalin, for participating in a breakthrough of the border fortified district, overcoming difficult to accessible, mountain taiga area with a stretch of 500 km and mastering the city of Girin, the Division was given gratitude.
Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on September 19, 1945, the division was awarded the Order of Cutuzov 2 degrees, and our 346 rifle regiment by the second Order of the Red Banner.
So, the 63rd Rifle Vitebsk Order of Suvorov 2 degrees, the Order of Cutuzov 2 degrees, and, therefore, and 346 rifle twice the red-known Order of Alexander Nevsky Regiment, 8 thanks from the Supreme Commander of the T. Stalin And 1 thanks from the Military Council of the Front.
October 23 we leave Manchuria and, plunging into the wagons, follow the Soviet Union. October 29th arrived at the Hun Chun station, 20 km from the State Border, and on October 31, in the Soviet Union, they were located in the village with the Chinese title - Hun Chun. November 10th arrived in the place of Barabash, and on November 11, the appointed point of Pramest Petrovka, sitting in the Soviet military town, with our Soviet name.
But not long we stayed on the Soviet land. In less than two weeks, we were taken back to Manchuria, this time in the city of Yangtze and back to our military town, Pogrf Petrovka returned on April 21, 1946. Here we returned through Vancin, Tuman. Soon we heard joyful news: on the basis of the declaration of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, demobilization from the army of soldiers of older ages was declared. I also treated this category.
In the first half of May 1946, the dispatch of demobilized warriors began from Pogrmen-Petrov. We were awarded the diplomas in which the tart feats were noted and the warm words of a farewell signed by the commander of the division by Colonel Samarin and the head of the political waste by Colonel Deinega.
But not all waited for the Victory Day and these joyful days of returning to their homeland. Many, very many remained on the battlefields and well-known combat comrades to me never forget, among them:
Senior Sergeant, Head of the radio station of Lekomtsev Nikolai Semenovich, 1917, Meschak, a good harmonist, originally from Kirov, struggled 08/05/1944 Sniper bullet in Lithuania.
Commander battalion Captain Garnaev Ivan Vasilyevich, 1922, killed 04/18/1944 during an artillery fly on the KP regiment in the area of crickets.
Head of the headquarters of the regiment Captain Resurrection Peter Ivanovich, 1902, who died 08/30/1943 during the German airway in Yelny
Adjutant battalion captain Zolotov Viktor Nikolaevich, 1910, who died 06/23/1944
Commander Shelf Major Lysenko Anton Karpovich, 1903, who died 03/10/1944
Head of the Chemical Service Senior Lieutenant Salnikov Peter Ivanovich, 1921, who died 09/19/1945 at a crash of cars
Sergeant Klauzov Alexey Vasilyevich, 1904, fled from the fascist captivity, fought in the West and died on 08/13/1945 in Manchuria in battle on Pelinshe.
In the fields of Lithuania, 17.10.1944, Agitator of the regiment captain Bayadilov Abulkhair, 1913 and many, many others were killed.

There were a lot of good friends and combat comrades who remained alive. Some are now in the ranks of the Soviet Army, and the majority worked in the glory of our debris.
Good memories remained about the foreman of Vasily Chebotarev, we were familiar with him since 1943, he comes from the Rostov region. In 1965, 19 years after our parting in Pogrf Petrovka in 1946, I found it through the Rostov address table. He lives in Taganrog, worked as the head of the city's communication. As a resort in Kislovodsk, we agreed to meet on the way back and on May 15, 1965 the meeting took place in Taganrog. How much joy, the memories brought this unforgettable meeting.

Alexey Henov, 1966, Perm

".. Esvero-west and west of the city of Ielgava (Mitava) Our troops beat off the attacks of major infantry forces and tanks of the enemy. By order of command, our troops left the city of Tukums and moved to more favorable positions ..."
From the summary of Sovinformbüro for August 21, 1944

German Soldiers Pass by An Immobilized Soviet IS-2 Tank, During The Fighting in Jelgava (Mitau) Central Latvia. In 1944.

Probably exactly as connoisseurs of Russian poetry sometimes "at random" open some of the volumes of the full collection of the writings of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin to read several lines, simply, to choose and I "wander" from time to time by archival documents of the site OBD Memorial.

All you need - beat Naobum some words, for example. Hungary, 1945, other cause of death and read the fate of soldiers and officers. Who committed suicide who crushed the car, who poisoned with methyl alcohol.

On the eve I thought. But it is interesting - to whom of our countrymen Penzents are not lucky at the end of the war? Let's say that already in the officer's rank fell into the paws to the Nazis.

I type in the request of the OBD text 1944, Captain, Penza, captured.

The site issued a few surnames. My choice fell on the captain of Malkina Isaac Naumovich 1919 g birth. Captain Medical Service 346 Rifle Division. August 20, 1944 was captured. And then the supplement is released.

That's how yes !! ??!

Judging by the name Officer Jew! And survived captivity. Maybe the appearance did not speak of nationality ?? And taken with him a fellow soldier did not give him out ??

Lucky what to say. According to the documents, the captain served in 437 medical and sanitary battalion 346 divisions.

I then thought - this is how a doctor of Medicalbat Being not in the forefront could get in captivity ?? Began to look for information. And immediately understood - well, here another white spot in the Great Patriotic War has become less for me. In August 1944, the entire division was surrounded by the environment in which Malkin was located.

Anatoly Fedorovich Novikov Sanitary platoon commander 437 Med.-san. Bat. 346 SD

Pavel Petrovich Maryukhin Deputy for Political Part 437 Med.-San. Bat. 346 SD

Isaac Naumovich Malkin Captain Captain Ordinator 437 Med.-San. Bat. 346 SD.

But only Malkin survived and returned. And apparently behaved in captivity worthy. After liberation and check continued to serve in the Red Army.

" />

By the way, according to the information provided on the site "The feat of the people", before the 346 division was transferred from the Crimea to the Baltic States, the captain of the medical service was awarded the medal "for military merit" and the Order of the Red Star.

As stated in the submission to the last award of Isaac Naumovich Malkin, by going to Sivash and carrying surgical instruments, coming to the shore, immediately began to operate the wounded than saved many lives. Normal man, what to say!

And then the division replenished with local recruits was transferred from the Soviet Crimea to the Soviet Baltic States. At first everything went well, and then ....

"..19 August enemy on the Kauuguri plot, a sloc, Calnziems concentrated the 168th and 314th infantry divisions and moved to the offensive against parts 346th of the rifle division along the coast at the turn of Kauguri, Lapmezhciems, Ragaziems, Claplynziems, APCHCYSEMS, Phenziems landed Numerous marine assaults of the enemy. The enemy combat ships supported the landing of the landing of the ship tools. The opponent's bombing strikes hit the defenders of the coast. Over the shelf infantry of the Nazis with tanks broke up on Milkulna and SMARDA. They destroyed the hospital there was a hospital there 346th with wounded fighters, doctors and medical sisters .... "

"On August 20, after strong artillery preparation and with the support of a large number of tanks, self-propelled and assault guns, the opponent forces of the 93rd infantry division and individual consolidated battalions were transferred to the offensive on the entire division defense site. Crossing through the River Lieleup to 14 inches of infantry, Germans The offensive on the road in the direction of the farm "Sarmas" was started. At the same time, from the west, the Germans put forward to 20 tanks and battalion of motorcycles. The battle was in heavy woody-swampy conditions at the obvious superiority of the Germans. At the same time on the coast of the Gulf Pole M.P . Funny led a fight with the planted sea landing. By 12 o'clock in the Germans day, with the fire support for the cruiser Prince Eugene, they managed to plant infantry and combat equipment with 36 ships and barges in Asari and Lielciems.

The road, Jelgava Tukums, by this time was cut with tanks and armored personnel carriers of the enemy. The Germans created the so-called "Corenand Corridor" width of 30 kilometers from the Gulf of Riga to the Berze River, which north of Jelgava, and restored the relationship between the North Army Group and East Prussia.

The 346th division was fully surrounded by a large stretched front. ... "

To further - you can read on the links mentioned above. A part of the servicemen broke through the battle, several hundred retreated into the frying swamps. And then a reconnaissance group was sent to 90% of fighters from this group. But of course not all. Hundreds remained lying on the ground, hundreds were captured. By the way, among those missing 20 August, many Penzents. Checked on the road memorial - the mark is released, alive - units.

Judging by the memories read by me, these events were not "left ignoring" controlling authorities ".

"SEPTEMBER 1944. Difficult fights still affected the mood of fighters and even commanders. I noted it immediately as soon as I visited the shelves of the 346th rifle.

Naturally, heavily and even, one might say, the depressed mood of people alerted me. After all, such in the division was not observed before. Of course, began to look for this reasons. ...

It turned out that as soon as the division came out of the environment, several army representatives arrived at its division. Unfortunately, they saw their task not to cheer up people, but in order to ... to spend something like an investigation. So they began to stop at the fighters, who, in their opinion, was the culprit that the company, the battalion fell into the environment, as those or other warriors behaved in that setting. In a word, people, as it were, were shared in advance on courageous and panties, which, quite understandable, brought one in a big embarrassment, others insulted to the depths of the soul.

The tactless attitude of the elder comrades to the fighters and commanders who visited the Division in the misfortune caused at least bewilderment. Therefore, I found it necessary to invite the regulators to myself. ... "

Well, now and everything is about 346 rifle divisions.

By the way, judging by the same site "The feat of the people" in 1985 Isaac Naumovich Malkin was still alive. He was awarded the "jubilee" Order of the Patriotic War.

And further. There is such a "Book of Memory of the Warriors - Jews of the fallen in battles with Nazism 1941-1945, Volume 2"

If I read me in Israel - make amendments. Isaac Malkin did not disappear. The captain passed captivity and continued to continue to do medicine.
By the way, and that Yelgava. Our freed. But this has already happened on October 10, 1944. According to the Internet, during the battle, the city was destroyed by 90%, for which he received the name of the "Baltic Stalingrad".

The machine gunners of the first Baltic front purge Yelgava from the Germans. 1944

Connection History:

It was formed according to the order of NKO No. 15 from August 15, 1941 in the city of Volsk of the Saratov region of the Volga Military District. In addition, the German command did not quite expect a blow to a calm flank of his troops. On the Guderian flank, the command of the Red Army focused on two fresh armies (10a and 61a) at once.

346SD was part of the 61A Colonel-General of Kuznetsov F.I. in 61a, 342, 346, 350, 356, 385, 387, 391sd, 83 and 91kd. However, the most well combed and armed was only 346, 350 and 356sd.
