Today, even a user who does not have any knowledge is able to get everything he wants. A modern megaphone is easy to install, set up, and controlled by commands over the phone.

Features of video surveillance using Megaphone

There are three Megafon cameras with different capabilities on the market today. They somewhat change the usual order of organizing video surveillance systems.

A short list of features can be described as follows:

  1. the camera, first of all, is designed to work in a 3G network, other data transmission channels are not provided;
  2. after installation, the GSM megaphone CCTV camera can be controlled by commands sent to its SIM card number;
  3. video storage is available on a memory card or branded Megafon;
  4. camera images are sent when a motion detector is triggered or upon a direct request, by a command to a mobile number.

Another feature that video surveillance through a megaphone offers is direct access to the audio broadcast.

To listen to what is happening in the room, just call the camera number.

As additional measures security, some device models are equipped with a so-called panic button (including on the remote control).

When you press it, the megaphone of the video surveillance camera is able to dial the configured number and organize listening to the controlled area.

One of the models, the V900, has a panic button directly on the body, which expands the alarm possibilities and greatly increases the level of security.

Organization of video surveillance at the operator Megafon

The company declares that Megafon video surveillance via the Internet can be organized not only with the help of special branded cameras.

The device can be a regular IP camera. This greatly expands available options for users.

To use the video surveillance option from the operator, you need to activate it for the tariff plan used.

You can connect to the megaphone 3G video surveillance system:

  • ordinary, free-standing;
  • several cameras connected to a single router;
  • a camera that works over a 3G network.

Certain models of devices offered on the market provide for the possibility of connecting an external 3G GSM communication unit.

In this case, video surveillance via a megaphone modem will offer all the possibilities that are interesting to the user.

The mechanics used by the Internet video surveillance megaphone are quite simple.

The user has several options for broadcasting data:

  1. The camera, upon request, which comes to its SIM card, sends the image via MMS.
  2. Photographing is available in a series of up to 8 images, according to the configured resolutions and MMS capabilities.
  3. Images are sent via MMS to the configured owner's phone when the event is triggered by the motion sensor.
  4. Separate, state-of-the-art Megafon cameras are capable of capturing streaming video. The archive data is written to a memory card installed in the device or a proprietary cloud service Megafon.
  5. Access to the archive of videos or pictures taken by the camera is carried out through the proprietary service Megafon, a regular browser is enough for operation.

For full use of security functions, including an emergency panic button, the user does not have to buy storage services. The phone and camera settings are enough in the options of the Video Surveillance service from Megafon.

Supported cameras

It is impossible to clearly identify the types and formats of cameras that can be connected to the Megafon video surveillance service.

Little is required from the device: to have its own IP for access or to be equipped with a communication unit (external or internal), in which the operator's SIM card is installed. Such data will need to be specified when configuring the corresponding services.

Based on the operator's requirements, even DVRs can be connected to the system, forming a single stream of several transmitted by separate cameras. However, you will need to fine-tune the resolution and bit rate to transfer video over 3G channels.

The best results are observed if you connect cameras offered by Megafon to the system.

Here, all the features of the transmission channel are immediately taken into account, as well as the basic setting of the capabilities, covering a huge audience of consumers.

Today megaphone Internet video surveillance is offered in the form of ready-made sets of cameras of different classes and packages of a mobile operator.

Features and models

Megafon offers several cameras on the market so that the user can choose the optimal combination of capabilities and cost.

Built-in detectors

Without exception, all Megafon cameras have built-in hardware motion detectors. The response to triggering is configurable and depends on the capabilities of the device.

Some models provide the ability to set the schedule and sensitivity of the sensor.

Cloud services

To store the video archive, space is offered on cloud storage servers. To take advantage of this opportunity, you need to activate the corresponding option in personal account.

The tariff for video surveillance megaphone cloud service does not depend on the type of camera. Any device can be connected to the storage.

Step-by-step video surveillance system setup

In order to set up Megafon video surveillance, you first need to log in or register in your personal account.

After that:

  1. find the service Video surveillance and enter. At the first attempt, you will be prompted to register;
  2. add a camera in the appropriate section. In this case, you need to specify the IP address. For devices connected to a computer or via a router, you will need special software that can be downloaded on the operator's website;
  3. after specifying the parameters of the device - it is included in the video surveillance service.

Having done these steps, you can immediately see the result by going to the sections My cameras, View, Video archive.

For use last section - you need to activate the cloud storage service. This is done (and paid for) for each monitoring point separately.

Service Tariffs

Today, Megafon video surveillance is sold as a comprehensive offer, which includes a surveillance device and a mobile communications package.

It takes into account all the features of using the transmission channel and selects the optimal tariffs for users.

However, video surveillance can be activated for other packages as well. In this case, it is more convenient to find out the prices in your personal account on the operator's official website.

Conclusion

Although Megafon video surveillance cannot boast of real video in real time, its capabilities will be extremely useful for a huge audience of consumers.

Having bought a complex from a camera and an operator's package, it is easy to set up a system in just minutes that will increase the level of security at the monitoring object or solve other problems facing the user.

Video: Megafon - cloud video surveillance service

Inexpensive complex designed for additional protection of residential, office or industrial premises. Positioned as the optimal combination affordable price and functionality.

It should be noted right away that the set "House under supervision" in no way pretends to be a professional and "self-sufficient" security system. Also, no automated active countermeasures are provided. On the corporate market, the kit will be sold under the name "Videocontrol", for private clients - "House under supervision". The names themselves already speak about the purpose and capabilities of the system: notify the "owner" of the premises about the occurrence of an event, provide him with audio / video information about what is happening and, possibly, attract the attention of people who are near the protected premises.

Professional systems security and video monitoring work more efficiently, but they also cost an order of magnitude and a half more. “House under supervision” can be considered a reasonable compromise: the kit itself costs 7,000 rubles, and the subscription fee for a special tariff is 300 rubles. per month. While the kits are purchased and distributed as part of a pilot project, the sales experience should determine the market needs for such a product.

History of the issue

Below are a few slides from the presentation. They have no direct relation to the product itself, but they help to understand the logic of the operator who has taken on an uncharacteristic (as it may seem) business.

The sphere of interaction of M2M (Machine-to-Machine) devices is one of the most promising and fastest growing. New subscribers are born and grow up much more slowly than equipment and devices appear that need to transfer the collected information. Sometimes such devices materialize at once in thousands of series, as was the case, for example, with the equipment of electric meters with devices for reading and transmitting information about electricity consumption.

Organizing data transmission "by air" is a rational and beneficial solution for the customer. Sometimes the solution is the only possible one (for example, vehicle monitoring). The operator is also not at a loss: the "mechanical subscriber" generates a small, but stable income, does not create problems and does not waste the expensive time of the contact center employees to find out the fate of the next three rubles "missing" from the balance sheet. At the same time, SMS exchange and / or insignificant (as a rule) GPRS traffic almost does not consume network resources, this is another plus.

If earlier the operator played the role of a "pipe" for data transmission, then after the launch in 2010 of a multifunctional SIM-card management center in Beeline, they strive to develop fully-functional "turnkey" solutions.

The first significant project in this area is considered to be the complex solution "Avtomonitoring", which allows tracking the location and many parameters of the vehicle throughout Russia.

We can say that Beeline "went to the people" and intends to actively develop "box" products for small businesses and private users. The current Supervised House has been developed as part of this strategy.

Will this particular project "shoot"? Hard to say. But the direction is generally correct and promising. Although, in terms of financial return, it is much more time consuming than large-scale M2M projects with large corporations.

"Video control" and "House under supervision"

For this, Beeline produced a press release of surprisingly high-quality information content. Literally in a couple of paragraphs, we fit the essence of the proposal, functionality and main numbers. I am pleased to quote:

"... the integrated M2M solution" Videocontrol "consists of a set of sensors (movement, door opening, smoke, notification button and light and sound indicator), which are combined with a central control module - MMS-camera, a special tariff plan, and a WEB-interface for setting and system management. When any of the sensors is triggered, the system will send an alert to the user's mobile phone in the form of an SMS message, as well as an MMS message with a snapshot of the client's office taken at the time the sensor was triggered. If necessary, the client can make a call from his phone to the MMS-camera and hear what is happening in the room where it is installed.

Together with the new M2M solution for the corporate market, Beeline is launching a similar product called House under Supervision as a pilot project for mass market subscribers. As part of the Videocontrol solution, customers will be able to form a set of sensors on their own, purchasing them separately. The cost varies from 390 to 890 rubles for a sensor, and an MMS camera costs 4490 rubles. The set with the equipment assumes a special tariff plan with a subscription fee of 50 rubles per month, which includes 25 SMS and 25 MMS messages. On the mass market, the solution "House under supervision" will be sold as a set - 7000 rubles. The subscription fee for the service will be 300 rubles per month with included traffic packages from 80 to 3000 SMS and MMS messages.

The pilot project "House under supervision" is being extended to the southern and Siberian regions of Russia. Its purpose is to study consumer demand for further development М2М services in the mass market ”.

As a clarification: "House under supervision" kits should be sold to individuals in the cities of Krasnodar, Barnaul, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk. Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Abakan, Kyzyl, Gorno-Altaysk, Norilsk. Based on the results of the pilot project, Beeline will decide on the advisability of starting sales in other regions. The "Video control" option will be available to corporate clients throughout Russia.

How it works

The "control center" of the system is the MMS-camera GSM MMS V900 B1. The camera has been on the market for two years already, but the software "filling" of this device has been specially redesigned for the tasks of the security complex.

The sensors are constantly connected to the camera via a radio channel, and when any of them is triggered, the camera sends an SMS and MMS to the owner's phone with a snapshot of the scene. Sensors can be purchased separately, the camera supports simultaneous operation with a maximum of 15 devices.

The camera has its own built-in motion sensor, it also works and is involved in the system. There is a light sensor and 8 infrared LEDs that turn on automatically when you need to take a picture in the dark. True, the real range of illumination is two to three meters, up to five meters with light walls and light furniture.

The camera has its own built-in battery, the declared resource when the external power is turned off is about a day in stand-by mode. All sensors and a light and sound warning unit (siren) are self-powered (batteries) with a service life of about 1 year.

When any of the sensors is triggered, the system sends SMS and MMS messages, and can simultaneously activate a light and sound siren. Photos from the scene can be viewed through the web interface. You can also call an MMS camera and listen to what is happening in the room through the microphone built into the camera. Detailed technical characteristics of the components are below, at the end of the text.

Control

To control the control unit, sorry for the tautology, you can send SMS messages to the camera or via the Web interface. I remember that when I tested this camera a year and a half or two ago, I killed half a day only for dealing with the SMS control commands, of which there are a great many “good and different” ones. Therefore, the Web interface is a great blessing and an act of humanism. Everything is conveniently configurable, the parameters for triggering notifications, the format of sent MMS, etc. are immediately visible on the computer screen. Naturally, Internet access is required to view and control. If you really want to, then some settings can be made by SMS commands, the changed parameters are synchronized with the Web control window.

The GSM alarm system based on the Youthnet V900 TUTA-B20 MMS camera allows recording all events occurring in the range of the built-in motion sensor and has the ability to connect up to 15 external wireless sensors.

Anxiety received from gSM sensors alarm, arrives on your phone in the form of SMS messages about the alarm and MMS messages with a series of photographs of the protected object in the field of view of the camera. It is also possible to receive images by email of the owner.

The owner of the V900 TUTA-B20 GSM alarm system can connect to the system with a regular dial-up and listen to the room using the built-in microphone. The alarm also has a built-in speaker that allows two-way audio exchange with persons in the protected area.

Built-in infrared illumination will make it possible to take photographs of intruders even in complete darkness (see example photo). Also, the owner can initiate the receipt of photographs himself, which makes it possible to once again verify the penetration of the protected object. The presence of photographs of intruders allows, if necessary, to provide irrefutable evidence of their guilt. It is possible to turn off the system status LED, which will make the MMS camera unobtrusive.

Your actions in case of penetration can be different: a false alarm will be processed by you and left unanswered, a confirmed alarm will allow you to take action - report the penetration to the guard, security, or immediately call the police.

It is also possible to create a whole security system based on wireless sensors based on the Youthnet V900 TUTA-B20 GSM alarm system. In total, it is possible to connect up to 15 wireless sensors, such as a smoke detector, water leakage, gas leakage, glass breakage, door opening, additional sensor movement. Cases of sensor triggering that are not related to intrusions (that is, the reaction of connected wireless sensors to smoke, water leakage, temperature rise or power outage) can be handled with the help of neighbors, relatives and friends who are in the vicinity of the protected object. In fact, GSM signaling V900 TUTA-B20, with the help of external connected sensors, allows you to implement a semblance of the concept “ smart home". This GSM alarm system is suitable for monitoring an apartment, house, office, warm garage or summer cottage.

findings

Impressions from the camera remained ambiguous - the usefulness of such a security system is very controversial. In the event of an intruder's penetration, you will be notified of this modest photo of poor quality, and you will only have to helplessly try to call the police.

Perhaps the smoke detector is really useful, because it will prevent a fire, but this application is too narrow. You can also "eavesdrop" on how the nanny treats your child.

A separate problem is the weak security of the communication channel. The sensors "communicate" with the camera on a widely used frequency; they can even be drowned out by an ordinary radio station. At the same time, the data is not encrypted in any way, so there is no problem to send a powerful false sensor signal and calmly start hacking. And GSM jammers have long been sold on any radio market. I pressed the button - and the camera is out of range of the network.

In our opinion, we have before us a kind of half-measure for a too economical user, who thereby calms himself down and buys a "placebo" for relatively little money.

For the operator, this is a way to slightly expand the number of subscribers by investing in software and promotion, but we would not predict the massiveness of the solution. The name of the product accurately reflects its essence - a house under supervision, not under control. However, if alternatives like remote control security are not available, then the Beeline camera is obviously better than nothing.
