For the manufacture of original lamp with our own hands, we need:

1. Cement + sand.
2. Electrical wire and chuck
3. Plastic bottle from mineral water for 2 liters and thinner for 1 liter.
4. Tube with thread and nuts. This tube can be purchased at lighting stores, or obtained from an old chandelier.
5. Self-tapping screws

First, you need to pick up plastic bottles from mineral water or any other drinks. A 2 liter bottle will serve as an external form for the ceiling, so if the bottle has different embossings, they will be imprinted on the lamp. A 1 liter bottle must be chosen without embossing (smooth), but of such a diameter that an energy-saving lamp can fit inside.

After we have decided on the choice, we cut off the bottom of a 2-liter bottle.

Drill holes in the lids for the metal tube

Nut the covers on both sides to keep them in place. The distance between caps should be two times greater than the distance between the walls of the bottles.

Use self-tapping screws to secure the shape.

Prepare a cement mortar (ready-made cement-sand mixture or cement with sand in a ratio of 1: 2) and fill in the form. Concrete, in consistency, should be thick, then the surface of the lamp will be smooth. If the solution is more liquid, then many small shells will appear on the walls.

It is worth considering that when the solution is thicker, it may not fit tightly, and voids will form. Therefore, it is necessary to compact the solution with a stick after each filling. You can use improvised vibrating means (manual massager, etc.). After the solution is filled up and tamped, you can unscrew the screws and gently tamp again so that the center is not disturbed.

After the cement has dried (1 week in the shade), remove the bottles, but be careful as the cement is still brittle and easily damaged on the face.

Treat all edges of the lamp with sandpaper.

It remains only to connect the cartridge to the lamp. I want to note that hanging a ceiling on a wire is very risky, and sooner or later the wire can be crushed under weight. Therefore, I recommend using a decorative chain for hanging.

Decorative lamp, made by hand, is ready to decorate the interior.

You can make two-color lamps. To do this, in different containers are prepared cement mortars from white and gray cement. After that, they are mixed with each other for a few seconds (but do not allow mixing to a uniform color), and poured into molds. Additionally, you can use colored dyes for concrete using marble from concrete technology, and make fancy patterns.

Good luck with your art.

Among DIY enthusiasts, concrete has become a fairly popular material due to its low cost and ease of use. Concrete lamps are very heavy and cold, but this fact does not affect the versatility of such devices, they will perfectly fit into any interior design. To this end, designers create various forms of cement, decorate and paint them in an original way, giving it such shades as gold, silver or copper.

It is worth noting that designer-made concrete lamps are highly valued, so not everyone has the opportunity to acquire such a luxurious product. To save your Money you can create this light source with your own hands.

Concrete light fixture using package

Before proceeding with the manufacture of this type of fixtures, it is necessary to prepare the following materials:

  • milk carton. An important condition is that the packaging should not let moisture through, otherwise the concrete will lose its strength. How bigger size a lamp is planned, the larger the package should be chosen;
  • a plastic bottle into which the light source should then be placed;
  • dry mix for concrete.

The first step is to get rid of the bending edges of the package and install a plastic bottle into it. Next, you need to drill holes in the resulting structure. To facilitate this process, it is recommended to pre-drill holes in these places using a nail or screwdriver. Then you should fix the bottle with a bolt, passing it through drilled holes and fixed.

To maintain the moisture resistance of the packaging, the joints must be treated with a sealant. Thus, we get the base where the concrete will be poured. The dry mixture is diluted with water according to the rules described in the instructions for it. The main thing here is to prevent excess liquid.

Consistency ready solution should be similar to sand dough. Therefore, water should be poured in gradually, while each particle of the mixture should become wet. After preparation, the concrete should be placed in a previously made form, pressing it tightly enough, thereby excluding the formation of empty seats. For complete deaeration of the product, the bag must be thoroughly shaken.

All tools must be washed immediately after use, otherwise the concrete mixture will seize, which will make its removal almost impossible. After two days (so much is required for the concrete to harden), the package should be disposed of and the bolt unscrewed. To give the concrete lamp originality, it is recommended to make additional holes in it. This will help diffuse the light output. A light source is placed in a plastic bottle, which is then connected to a switch. The finished device can be placed both on the wall and suspended from the ceiling.

Lighting fixture using a bottle

Concrete pendant lights are no less popular. This device is easily made independently. For this purpose, materials such as a sand-cement mixture containing gravel, water, a network source, an electrical cord, self-tapping screws (designed for working with wood), steam plastic bottles(differing in size), a lamp holder, as well as additional devices: a knife, a drill, a threaded tube. First you need to prepare the bottles. To do this, cut off their bottom and drill holes for the threaded tube.

The lamp socket is fixed with nuts and self-tapping screws on both sides, so that the base for the lamp is considered prepared. The next step involves preparing a cement-sand mixture, after which it is necessary to fill the base (using a spoon) for the lamp with it, pressing down a little. This method of laying concrete helps to remove excess air, and also ensures an even distribution of cement.

When the concrete becomes hard, the plastic is removed with a knife along with self-tapping screws. The uneven surface of the concrete must be treated with sandpaper, which has a grit size of 120. The last step is to connect the cord to the light bulb and to the power source. Given the mass of the concrete product, you should make sure the strength of the fastening.

Concrete Garden Light

These products are perfect for general form garden plots. In addition to their main function of lighting, they serve as a decorating element. Following the recommendations described below, it is quite possible to make these lamps with your own hands. First you need to make formwork. The material for it is a sheet of plywood, whose thickness is 12 mm.

When creating a form, you should ensure that it can be easily parsed. It is desirable to cover the details of the base with varnish, which will then help to disconnect it from solid concrete intact. Repeated varnishing will allow finished products to gain shine and shimmer. The wiring of a concrete lamp can be organized using foam or corrugated pipe. The first option is the most optimal, due to which the mass of the lamp is significantly reduced, and the cost of concrete is reduced.

Garden Concrete Lamp

Glue is used to secure the foam. In addition, another advantage is the ease of material removal. If there are fragments that are difficult to get rid of, it is recommended to use acetone, which completely dissolves the foam. The next step is to create the formwork inside the product. For this purpose, it is possible to use both plywood and cardboard.

The main thing is that their walls have a thickness of at least 25 mm. Also, this formwork should be made in the form of a trapezoid, which will ensure ease of removal. Styrofoam grooves for wiring are laid in the openings. As cement mixture It is allowed to use both ready-made and self-made.

When choosing the second option, M-500 cement is used in combination with sand (ratio of one to three). Gravel or granite chips (one part) can serve as an additive. By diluting the mixture, it is necessary to achieve the consistency of shortcrust pastry. At the next stage, the concrete is laid in the formwork. First of all, it is recommended to fill hard-to-reach places, and then the rest of the space.

To make the mixture lay down more densely, a vibrating grinder should be used. The product filled with concrete mixture should be covered with plastic wrap for at least three days. This will eliminate the possibility of water leakage from the concrete, as well as give it strength. After the mixture hardens, the formwork is removed, the lamp is polished, and the lamp is installed.

Such material as concrete today is used not only for construction purposes, but also for interior decoration, representing an original and stylish decorating element. The main advantage of the above concrete lamps is not only unusual design but also simplicity self-manufacturing. In addition to lamps, due to the ability of this material to take various forms, various vases, tables and chairs, flower pots are created.

Recently, concrete has become a popular and fashionable addition to the interior. As an element of decor, it entered the design with the loft style in the 50s of the last century. Today, concrete can be used to make tables, dishes, chairs, furniture fronts, sinks and much more. In this article, we'll show you how to do table lamp from concrete with their own hands.

What is concrete?

Concrete is an environmentally friendly product that can be recycled and reused. The recipe for making concrete is quite simple. All you need is cement, gravel, sand and water. The exact ratio of all components of the solution is very important, since the strength of future products depends on this. The main component of the concrete mixture is cement. When choosing its brand, you should determine the level of load and the impact of external destructive factors.

Pay attention to the water that you will add to the concrete mix. If it contains components that violate the structure of concrete, it is better to refuse it. River or lake water is ideal. Speaking about the ratio of proportions, you can see them on the back of the package. Remember that such a ratio is rather conditional, therefore, without exact calculations, an unexpected result may turn out.

Do-it-yourself loft-style concrete lamps at home

To create a concrete lamp with your own hands at home, it is best to use decorative concrete. The composition of such concrete includes natural ingredients, so it is safe for health. In addition, decorative concrete allows you to imitate various coatings: wood, stone, decorative tiles, bricks and much more.

No matter what kind of concrete you use, it is recommended to sift it before mixing. It is important to use a construction mask that will protect Airways from harmful dust.

What do you need to make a loft lamp with your own hands?

Concrete is perfect for implementation creative ideas. Despite the coldness of the material, such products bring comfort, warmth and complement any style of interior. Concrete can also be combined with other materials. In the manufacture of a concrete lamp, you can give any color using special dyes for concrete.

The main advantage of concrete is naturalness and environmental friendliness. You can easily make it yourself, without using any special materials, tools and accessories.

How to make a table lamp with your own hands? You will need:

  • strong cement-sand mixture;
  • drill;
  • cord;
  • lamp holder;
  • threaded tube;
  • two plastic bottles of different sizes;
  • wood screws.

The first thing to do is prepare the bottles. To do this, cut the bottom and drill holes in the bottle caps. The size of the hole must be such that the threaded tube can be inserted. Then insert the tube into the holes obtained and fix its position with the nuts. Screw the resulting design onto the bottles. Use self-tapping screws to stabilize the bottles. In this way, a form is prepared for a concrete lamp.

Now you can start mixing concrete. The main thing is not to overdo it with water. The mixture should resemble cookie dough. Mix it thoroughly so that each grain of the mixture is wet. Remember that all concrete work must be done with gloves, as concrete dries the skin a lot, and concrete dust is not removed from the lungs.

Lay out the resulting concrete form. Use a large spoon to fill the mold. Shake and squeeze the bottle a little after each scoop to make sure the mixture is evenly distributed. Shake well at the end. This will help remove excess bubbles.

Do not forget to immediately wash the dishes in which you knead the concrete. Otherwise, it will quickly seize, and it will be extremely difficult to remove it.

After a couple of days, as soon as the concrete hardens, you can cut off the plastic bottles with a knife and remove the screws. Since the concrete will be rough, it is best to sand the surface with 120 grit sandpaper.

The last step is to connect the cord through the metal tube to the socket and switch. Make sure the lamp is well anchored so that the fixtures can support the significant weight of the concrete.

Glass, concrete and LEDs are combined in this product to create a modern, original and stylish lighting element that will be a great addition to the interior. Details of the process of its manufacture in the above master class.

materials
To do led lamp with your own hands, prepare:
LED garland;
a cylindrical glass vase 26.5 cm high;
PVC pipe;
concrete mixture;
miter saw;
thermal gun and hot glue sticks;
food film;
electrical tape;
hacksaw;
stationery knife;
drill;
grinder;
plastic bottle;
foam adhesive tape;
nail;
piece of plywood or wooden board.

Step 1. cut off PVC pipes a piece about 13 cm high. This will be the mold for the concrete base of your lamp. Adjust its height yourself. The diameter of the pipe for this project will depend on the diameter of the vase you have taken. It is not necessary to process the PVC part, it will become outer wall molds for concrete base.

Step 2 From concrete it is necessary to make a cylindrical base of the lamp with an empty recess inside. To make it, you will need a small plastic bottle, which must be cut in height about 2 to 3 cm lower than the outer part of the mold.

Step 3 At the top of the concrete base of the lamp there should be a small rim on which the vase will be placed. To make it, glue foam adhesive tape on the inside of a piece of prepared PVC pipe.

Step 4 Cover the bottom of the form cling film and secure it with tape.

Step 5 Dilute the concrete mix with water in the ratio specified by the mix manufacturer.

Step 6 Place the prepared part of the pipe on a piece of plywood. Right in the center of it, place an upside down, cut and empty plastic bottle.

Step 7 Gradually start pouring the concrete solution into the mold. Periodically knock on the wall of the PVC pipe with a rubber mallet so that parts of the solution settle to the bottom and do not rise. As the material is poured, the plastic bottle may be pushed upwards. Take a nail and lower it to the bottom.

Step 8 Take a grinder and use it to create vibrations to shrink concrete mortar. During this process, continue to hold the bottle with the nail.

Step 9 Leave the entire structure to dry completely. This process may take several days.

Step 10 Received concrete base for the lamp you need to get it out of the mold. To remove the layer of concrete from the bottom side, gently tap it with a hammer.

Removing the mold will be easy if you previously greased it with oil. If you poured concrete into an unprepared form, make two small cuts on it with a hacksaw or saw, and remove the PVC part.

Step 11 Sand the resulting workpiece with sandpaper or a grinder using a 60 grit attachment.

Step 12 Drill a hole in the top to fit a wire connected to a plug or other power source. From the bottom, make a small groove for the wire. So the base of the lamp will stand on a flat surface steadily.

Step 13 Pass the wire through the prepared hole and fix it in it using hot glue.

Step 14 Connect the LED garland to the wire. Carefully send it to the vase. To do this, pre-wrap the product on any cylindrical object. Cover the concrete base with a makeshift glass dome.

A concrete lamp is a stylish loft accessory that will make an apartment unique, especially if it is made by hand. To date, various well-known designer brands offer interesting solutions pendant lights made of concrete. But such things, as a rule, are too expensive, or there are difficulties with their delivery. Therefore, we suggest that you make such a loft hanging lamp from concrete with their own hands. All you need for this: two plastic bottles (one large, one smaller), a liquid mixture of cement with sand and water, a small metal tube with external threads, four wood screws and electrical wire connected to the socket and light bulb. In fact, there is nothing difficult in making a concrete lamp with your own hands. So let's get started.

Step 1. Drill holes in the caps of both plastic bottles with a diameter equal to the diameter of the metal tube.

Step 2. Cut a large plastic bottle in two with a utility knife and scissors. This will be the main form, the so-called "matrix" for our concrete lamp.

Step 3 Pass a metal tube through both bottle caps. To fix the bottles, use the nuts by screwing them onto the tube.

Step 4 Fix the plastic bottles together using wood screws.

Step 5. Prepare a liquid concrete mixture of the desired consistency.

Step 6. Then pour the prepared cement mixture into the resulting mold from two plastic bottles.

Step 7. After the concrete has hardened, unscrew the fixing screws and remove the excess parts of the plastic mold. If desired, sharp corners can be sanded with sandpaper.

Step 8. Insert the electrical cord into the hole of the metal tube, which was fixed in the concrete base.

Step 9. Connect one end of the cord to the lamp socket and the other to the electrical plug.

All. Our stylish concrete lamp is ready.
