The soloist of the popular 80s group Modern Talking Thomas Anders buys an apartment in the center of the Russian capital. The singer asked realtors to find him a mansion with a beautiful view from the window. They say he is ready to pay at least $ 5 million for the housing he likes. It will be arranged by Claudia, the singer's second wife. However, he still has not forgotten about the first, Nora, and carefully keeps her gifts.

Our call found Thomas in Germany, with his wife Claudia and son Alexander. Every now and then the cheerful laughter of a child was heard in the receiver.

- Thomas, have you already found an apartment in Moscow? - I asked.

In response, the singer only sighed wearily.

- The search is still going on. I want to choose a home that will be comfortable for me, my wife and my son. I dream of living on the Patriarch's Ponds, where the heroes of the novel by my favorite writer Bulgakov once walked. I want the apartment to be spacious and bright and have a beautiful view of Moscow from my windows. And I also hope that no one else will deceive me.

An unpleasant story happened to Thomas last year. The credulous singer handed over the money for housing to adventurers, who immediately disappeared with an impressive amount, leaving him penniless. Anders had to raise all his ties to get back his hard-earned savings. Now Thomas has become much more cautious and entrusted to represent his interests to a reputable real estate agency.

- Claudia is not against the move?

- My wife and I haven't talked about it yet. Of course, I will spend most of the time in Germany with my family, and I want to stay in a Moscow apartment only for the duration of tours or concerts. I hope that it will be Claudia who will design our new housing in Russia, she has great taste.

- Aren't you afraid that separation will be bad for your family?

- I was already married. And he made many mistakes in his last marriage. This will never happen again, ”Anders replied succinctly.

Nora Balling, the first wife of Thomas, was called by the fans of the group Modern Talking nothing more than "shrew". In their opinion, she not only destroyed the legendary team, but also made the soft-bodied Anders dance to her tune. Nora selected songs for the group and was engaged in the image of her husband. It was she who insisted that Thomas tint his lips and curl his hair in the videos. When fans saw Anders in a new image, they immediately suspected him of being gay. Painfully languidly, the singer danced and looked suspiciously at his colleague Dieter Bohlen. And no matter how much after that Thomas and Nora publicly kissed passionately, the "blue" train stretched for the singer for many years.

Today 49-year-old Thomas still excites girls' hearts. But the image changed dramatically, and not a trace remained of the "sweet" boy. No more oiled hair and lipstick, skinny jeans and revealing T-shirts.

- I was always embarrassed by the enthusiasm of the fans about my appearance, - the singer confessed to me when I asked if he missed the crowds of girls under his windows. - I never considered myself handsome. Believe me, I have a younger sister who is much cuter. And I don't wake up with the words: "God, how beautiful I am!" If this suddenly happens, wife Claudia will quickly put me in my place!
His fans will not get enough of Thomas' new wife. Clever Claudia keeps in the shadow of her star husband, never meddles in his affairs and does not try to manipulate him, unlike her predecessor Nora.

Fans of Anders took up arms against the "shrew" after she gave her husband a chain with her name on his birthday. Fans of Thomas immediately dubbed this decoration "collar". But the singer liked the gift, and he wore it, without taking it off, for many years. After the collapse of Modern Talking, everyone wondered what happened to the chain. At first, Anders said that he kept it in a safe, then suddenly blurted out in an interview that he melted it into a bracelet. "Only the stars" found out what actually happened to Thomas's "collar".
- The chain is intact. I didn’t melt it like I once wanted. I still keep a gift from Nora, - the singer admitted in a low voice. - It's hard for me to forget her.

Unlike sentimental Thomas, Nora quickly threw her husband out of her head, as soon as a better-off man appeared on the horizon than Anders. After the group broke up, she organized a tour of America. Soon, Nora announced to her bewildered husband that she had another boyfriend and she was demanding a divorce. They say that Thomas's ex-wife still lives in America, owns several hotels and shops. After a scandalous divorce from the singer, she was engaged in the design of jewelry and jeans. But Nora never found personal happiness.

But once they dreamed that they would be together forever. So different - shy Thomas and lively Nora met at a party with friends. For a long time they just talked, walked in parks, sat with cafes, chatting about everything in the world. Nora took the initiative into her own hands, and soon the couple began to live together. Already in marriage, Thomas learned about the extremely unusual hobbies of his wife. For example, Nora believed in mysticism, read books about spiritualistic séances, often invited psychics and magicians to their house, who supposedly knew how to communicate with the souls of the deceased. Practical Thomas did not believe a single word of theirs, but he never contradicted Nora. Gradually, the singer himself did not notice how carried away by mysticism. It happened after the breakup of the group. Anders was at a crossroads, he didn't know what to do. Nora, having caught his mood, invited her husband to go to a session with a psychic. After much persuasion, the singer agreed. And I didn’t regret it. The sorcerer returned the lost Thomas self-confidence, saying that in the future he will have a brilliant solo career.

“All this is in the past,” the singer answered irritably when I asked him about his past hobbies. “I no longer take part in questionable sessions. “But then he changed from anger to mercy. - Although I believe that there is life after death. Life experience tells me: there is something after our last hour strikes. Maybe when I am gone, my soul will move into a new body. Or it will turn, as the Indians believe, into a butterfly or a flower.

Thomas Anders is a German pop artist, lead singer of the Modern Talking group, composer, performer of the songs “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul”, “Cheri, Cheri Lady”, “Brother Louie”. Thomas was born on March 1, 1963 in the small German town of Münstermeifeld, near Koblenz, in the family of the burgomaster Peter Weidung, a financier by education. The boy received the name Berndhart Weidung at birth. The mother of the future singer Helga Weidung was engaged in entrepreneurship - she kept a cafe and a shop along the highway to Koblenets. In addition to Bernd, the family also brought up the eldest son Achim and the youngest daughter Tanya-Katrin.

At the age of 7, Bernd began his studies at the general education and music schools in Münstermeifeld. For several years, the boy has mastered playing the piano and guitar, has repeatedly become a laureate of music competitions and festivals. From an early age, Bernd sang in the church choir. In high school, Weidung transferred to Koblenz Gymnasium.

Music

In 1979, Bernd became a laureate of the Radio Luxembourg competition, and a year later he made his debut with the single “Judy” and immediately took a sonorous pseudonym on the recommendation of the producers of the recording studio. Bernd and his brother chose the name for the scene, using the telephone directory. The surname Anders was the first on the list, and the name Thomas was considered international by the brothers.

A year later, the young artist was invited to air the music show Michael Schanz. In 1983, a meeting with the musician took place. It took the singers a year to unite in a joint project called "Modern Talking".

"Modern Talking"

The first single of the new disco group, You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul, which was included in the debut album The First Album, became the opening of the year. The song held the leading position in the European popular music rating for six months, and the disc itself was sold daily in the amount of 40 thousand copies.

The musicians became prize winners and laureates of international music awards, and each appearance at the concert of the band's frontman Thomas Anders caused a storm of delight among the fans. The Modern Talking soloist, having an attractive appearance and slender figure (Thomas's height is 172 cm, weight - 84 kg), has become a real sex symbol of that time.

The musicians signed their first contract for three years. During this time Thomas and Dieter released six discs, among which the first four were the most popular: "The First Album", "Let’s Talk About Love", "Ready for Romance", "In the Middle of Nowhere".

In 1987, after the expiration of the contract, the group disbanded, and each of the leaders of the musical group began a solo career. But neither Thomas nor Dieter managed to repeat the success of Modern Talking, so in 1998 the musicians renewed their creative union. The band's musical style changed to techno and eurodance: the first album after the break, "Back For Good", contained mostly dance tracks and remixes of previous hits.

In 1999 the duo won an award at the Monte Carlo Music Festival in the category "Best Selling German Band in the World." Soon there were 4 more discs: "Alone", "Year of the Dragon", "America", "Victory and Universe". To diversify the sound, rap artist Eric Singleton was invited to the group. The fans did not like the new trio, so the clips in which the rapper participated were re-shot. In 2003, the group ended its existence.

Solo career

Work in the disco group Modern Talking played a positive role in the development of the creative biography of Thomas Anders, and the singer was able to achieve the same success on his own only in the 2000s. After the first collapse of the collective, the musician and his wife left for America. Over the past 10 years Thomas has released six solo albums: Different, Whispers, Down On Sunset, When Will I See You Again, Barcos de cristal and Souled.

In the early 90's, Anders recorded songs "Waiting So Long", "I Believe", "The Sweet Hello", "The Sad Goodbye", "Can't Give You Anything". Biography

Thomas Anders was born on March 1, 1963 in the German town of Münstermeifeld. From early childhood he became interested in music and sang in the choir at the church for a long time. In parallel with this, the boy mastered the piano and comprehended playing the guitar. Even then, Berndt was sure that a professional career awaited him and he would perform on stage. However, the parents saw their son in a completely different role and dreamed that he would become a builder. Therefore, the father often forced the son to help in the construction of a house being built for his older brother. Internally protesting against such violence, the future pop star came in a suit, tie and in this form drove cars with cement.

Already in adolescence, Berndt stood out against the background of his peers with the ability to dress stylishly and play with Barbie dolls. It was with a girl of this type that the young musician fell in love. The first serious success came to him in 1980, when he won the show of M. Shants and the single "Judy" was released. After that, the young man was advised to come up with a pseudonym, and, without hesitation, he chose the first surname of the telephone directory - Anders, and the name Thomas was taken as the most international, pronounced the same in different languages.

In 1983, fate brings the singer to Dieter Bohlen, after which they decided to try to work as a duet. Their joint song "Wovon Traumst Du Denn" received a good rating from the audience, becoming the 16th in the national charts. Soon the group Modern Talking was created, whose hit "Youre My Heart, Youre My Soul" did not leave the top of European music ratings for about a year and a half. In the wake of widespread fame, 6 albums were recorded, which sold a total circulation of more than 42 million copies.

In 1987, the joint project ceased to exist, and Thomas Anders set out on an independent voyage. He began touring the countries of the Old World, after which he began recording his own album "Different", in which he was helped by Mark Cassandra, known for his work with Elton John. It went on sale in 1989, but did not receive much recognition. Perhaps because Anders moved away from the usual style, defining the genre of his product as high-guality-pop.

In the future, Thomas Anders did not give up and continued to actively create musical material, collaborating with many well-known producers and record companies. Several albums and soundtracks for films were released, in one of which ("Stockholm Marathon") the musician even played in person. Giving all his strength to the field of creativity, during the recording of the album "Souled" Anders even fainted.

The second half of the 90s was marked by Anders's participation in several dance projects and his passion for jazz, which resulted in the appearance of an album and a jazz concert with the participation of L. Thornton's jazz band. In 1998, there was an unexpected revival of the half-forgotten Modern Talking. Together with Dieter Bohlen, they released several remixes and covered a number of past hits, but they did not gain their former glory. After 5 years, the duo broke up, but this did not affect the career of Anders, who by that time had a rich experience of creative interaction with No Angels, T-Seven and many other musicians.

Then Thomas Anders continued solo performances in Europe and the USA, released the successful album "This time" (2004) and recorded an acoustic version with the Warsaw Orchestra (2006). Having worked actively in the Novy Svet, the singer turns his eyes to Russia, creating especially for the domestic listener the album "Strong", songs for which were written by the composer S. Revyakin. In support of the album, a large-scale tour of 20 cities of the country was organized. In 2014, Anders will be awarded a Platinum Award for his record sales.

In 2011-2012, Thomas collaborated with compatriot Uwe Fahrenkrog, releasing a new album “Two” in a duet with him. Uwe also wrote the song "No ordinary love", which Thomas sang along with the Ukrainian vocalist Kamaliya. A year later, he performed the single "We Are One" with Iranian singer Omid.

In 2015, Thomas Anders gave two successful concerts in the United States - in Los Angeles and New York. In 2016, the singer released another studio album, "History", in the same year, Anders performed at the Moscow Crocus City Hall.

And in 2017, the singer released the album "Pures Leben", consisting of new songs recorded in German. For Anders's fans, as well as for the performer himself, the release was an event, because until that moment Thomas Anders had only released singles in German, and those even before Modern Talking.

Personal life

The first wife of the German singer was Nora Balling, with whom he fell in love at a young age. They got married back in 1984 at the dawn of the spouse's stellar career. From the very beginning, their relationship began to be dominated by a strong character Nora, who intervened in the creative process. It got to the point that the obstinate wife worked on the image of Thomas and selected the repertoire. That is why he appeared on stage with lipstick tinted and at times looked languidly at Dieter Bohlen's partner, which gave rise to rumors about his unconventional orientation. In 1992, they stopped living together after Nora announced the appearance of a new passion in her life.

After a difficult parting, the singer fell into depression, from which Claudia Hess, who worked as a professional translator, brought him out. They met in 1996 in a small cafe "Faust". Then the shy Anders decided to come up and meet a beautiful blonde. Soon, a relationship began, smoothly flowing into strong feelings. The wedding took place in 2000. Two years later, Claudia gave Thomas a son, Alexander Mink.

Thomas Anders is an actor, music composer, and also a famous German singer who became famous all over the world thanks to his participation in the Modern Talking group. Birth name - Bernd Weidung.

After completing his studies at school, Bernd Weidung took up the study of German language and literature, and also allocated some time for musicology. At the age of 16, the future member of the popular Modern Talking disco group won the Radio Luxemburg competition, having interested several record companies in his person. One of these companies offered the singer to use the pseudonym Thomas Anders and record the composition Judy, which became 1 of 9 singles released by the musician before meeting the composer and producer Dieter Bohlen.
