Home is the place where you want to feel as comfortable as possible. There are various ways to make it even more cozy. But it is especially pleasant when the decorative elements are made by hand. Decorative panels in the interior always attract admiring glances, and making them from scrap materials is not difficult if you follow the technology correctly and act step by step and according to the instructions.

What it is

The panel is an element of decor and its purpose is to decorate the interior and fill the empty space on the walls or ceiling. Sounds a lot like describing a painting, doesn't it? How does it differ from a picture if both decor options are designed to decorate the room? The answer is simple: a painting is a piece of painting art, and a panel can consist of anything. Dough, plastic, plaster, beads, fabric, wood - there is no limit to imagination when it comes to making panels and the material for decoration can be anything. If you want to make your interior unique, then the panel will do a great job with it!

Determining the scope of work

The first step in creating a wall panel is to decide on the design of the future product. If you already know where it will be located, then this complicates the task. It is necessary to weigh the color scheme, the size, what it will have, whether the material from which it is planned to be made fits into the overall picture of the interior.

So, we decide: size, color scheme and what materials will be used. This is the first step. If possible, then it is worth drawing a sketch of the planned product. This will help to take into account all the nuances of the task.

If a piece of cardboard, canvas or any other solid surface is taken as a basis, then markings are made on it: where and how the decor elements will be located. If the base is fabric, then it is pulled over the base (for example, on a piece of plywood, board or plastic), and the rest of the fabric is fixed on the back. After the craft is completed, it is placed in a frame and hung on the wall.

There is another option for making panels on a fabric basis. You will need to take a solid base, for example, a plasterboard sheet of the desired size and glue foam rubber to it. The fabric is stretched onto the resulting soft base. In this case, you can do without the frame.

After all the preparations, you can proceed to the main part of making: decorating.

Types of panels with your own hands

Consider the main types used in decoration:

TissueThese are all options for embroidery, appliqués and tapestry techniques that are made on fabric. The technique of execution can be anything: from manual embroidery to machine made in serial production.
StoneOften made using mosaic technique. Natural stones are used, which are considered noble: basalt, marble and others. Less often, artificial stone is also present in such products.
CeramicThey are made using ceramic tiles and are usually placed in the bathroom or kitchen.
SculpturalA volumetric version of the product, which is made of special plaster, plaster or metal.
GraphicEverything is done using various types of printing. These can be reproductions of paintings, photo printing.
Other typesHere are handicrafts made using any materials at hand. Salted dough, wood, dried flowers and plants, shells, clay, beads - there is no limit to your imagination for decoration.

Here are examples of making various types of panels:

From the prints of fruits and vegetables

When creating this panel, a child can also participate, since it is very simple to perform. The bright, colorful design of this creation is perfect for the kitchen.

For manufacturing you will need:

  • Hard vegetables or fruits (it can be apples, any citrus fruits, pears, cabbage, etc.);
  • Paint (gouache, oil, acrylic);
  • The basis on which the decoration will be made. It can be cardboard, board, cloth, stretched over a sheet of drywall.

The surface of the base is pre-degreased and painted in the desired shade. Cut fruits and vegetables into halves and dip them in paint. It is best to pour the dye into a plate thinly. Apply the colored fruit with the cut side to the base and get a stamp.

Stamps are made in any desired place on the substrate, but images that are symmetrically located look best.

From paper

There are many options for making paper creations. Let's take a look at the main ones:

From round paper designs

This product can be made by hand in an hour and is an excellent way to decorate the interior, as well as get a lot of positive emotions.

We will prepare materials:

  • Colored paper;
  • Paper clips;
  • Scotch;
  • Pins;
  • Stapler.

Procedure:

  1. A sheet of paper is folded like an accordion, like a fan.
  2. We bend the accordion in half.
  3. With a stapler we fix the edges at the fold so that the accordion does not disintegrate and a small fan turns out. We connect three such fans and get a circle.
  4. Accords of different colors can be combined into one circle, then the panel will turn out even brighter.
  5. Connect many circles together by securing them to the wall with safety pins. The size of the circles and the composition itself can be as large and take any shape.

From photos

In fact, this is a collage of photographs or artistic pictures, which can either have a specific theme or be completely abstract. Photos are combined into one composition and fixed on the wall or on another basis. Design Option: Combine multiple sea and sky images.

From colored paper

There are a great many options for making crafts from colored paper. Today we offer the option "Flowers from Hearts", which is suitable even for a children's master class. It is very simple to perform, is a great tool for the development of fine motor skills of a child, and it looks amazing!

We need:

  • Office colored paper;
  • The basis for the panel;
  • Pencil;
  • Scissors;
  • Cardboard;
  • Paints;
  • Brushes;
  • Frame.

Let's get started:

  1. Cut out the pattern in the form of a heart. To make one flower, we need eight of these hearts. All hearts in a flower must be the same size.
  2. Fold the heart in half and get a petal.
  3. We glue a flower from such petals to the base. It can be cardboard or a wall.
  4. To make flower leaves, you need smaller green hearts.
  5. We lay out the flowers in any order, depending on the general shape of the desired panel. This can be a heart shape, or you can lay out flowers in the shape of a tree. We show imagination and bring it to life!

From newspaper tubes

Newspapers can be perfect for making panels with your own hands.

Necessary materials:

  • Newspapers;
  • Knitting needle;
  • Glue;
  • Wire;
  • Brush;
  • Knife;
  • Acrylic paint.

Procedure:

  1. Cut the newspaper sheet into two parts with a knife.
  2. Apply glue to these parts with a thin layer.
  3. We wind the sheets of newspapers on a knitting needle diagonally. You should get thin tubes.
  4. We take acrylic paint and paint over the newspaper tubes in the desired color.
  5. We coat the resulting flagella with glue again and wrap the ends of each newspaper tube so that a spiral is obtained. Twist both ends in opposite directions if you want a seahorse shape. You can make a circle: for this you just need to roll the whole tube in a spiral.
  6. We fix the spirals with rubber bands and leave to dry for 24 hours.
  7. We remove the elastic bands and compose the desired pattern from the resulting elements. Elements can be immediately mounted on the wall, or you can create panels on a pre-prepared basis.

Circles made of newspaper tubes can be painted in different colors, connecting several shades in one circle. Circles with a gradient look interesting: a transition from one color to another.

From wallpaper

This is an interesting solution that will enliven your interior and make it even more comfortable.
There are several ways to make a wallpaper panel yourself:

  • Patch technique

Cut out fragments from the existing wallpaper. The pieces can be of any shape, but must fit together. Consider the general appearance of the entire future composition. For example, you can cut squares of flowers from three different types of wallpaper and combine them together in several rows in a specific sequence. In this case, paired elements do not have to be arranged symmetrically.

  • Whole wallpaper technique

We take the wallpaper with the desired image (for example, a sakura branch), carefully cut it out and insert it into the frame, or glue it on the wall and decorate it with molding or panels.

  • Combination of styles

Here the design is limited only by your imagination! Combine whole pieces of wallpaper with small cut pieces. It is a modern and inexpensive way to decorate your home.
Important! If you cannot decide on the style of the future composition, then you should take a closer look at the depiction of flowers and plants in soft shades. It is always appropriate and looks beautiful.

Salted dough

This type of panel is one of the most budgetary, since a minimum of material is required for its production and usually everything you need is always at home.

We offer a version of a stucco panel, where the arms and legs of your child will be printed. This creation will allow you to decorate your baby's bedroom in an original way and preserve the memory of his childhood for a long time.

We need:

  • Flour;
  • Salt;
  • Colored gouache (optional).

Procedure:

  1. We take flour and salt in two to one proportions. Two glasses of flour are mixed with a glass of salt, then water is added. The approximate volume of water for this amount of flour and salt is 125 ml.
  2. Knead the tough dough. If it sticks to your hands, then add more flour. The dough should be elastic and not stick to your hands.
  3. If you want to make the panel colored, then it's time to add gouache by decorating the dough with it.
  4. Roll out the dough. Its approximate thickness should be about 2 centimeters. The shape of the dough piece can be any.
  5. We bring the dough to the baby and gently press his palm and foot into the mass. Pressing should be light, but sufficient to leave a mark.
  6. We make two through holes in the dough - this is for the future ribbon, on which the panel will then hang.
  7. Put everything on a baking sheet and cover with baking paper.
  8. Preheat the oven to 90 degrees and put the dough there to dry. This will take approximately two to two and a half hours. It is necessary to turn the dough gently once, in the middle of drying.
  9. We paint the resulting panel with colored or white gouache, thread the tape into the holes - voila! A very touching and cute decoration for your home is ready!

From fabric

Decorating panels with fabric has come into fashion not so long ago: only in recent years have hand-made lovers have paid close attention to fabric. This product is ideal for Provence style interiors. Consider the main types of woven panels that you can do yourself:

Patchwork

Various techniques are used to make such panels, but they all have one thing in common: the use of scraps of fabric in the work. There are many patterns of such products on the Internet. Panels can be both fabric-based and rigid structures. You will need any fabric for manufacturing: from pieces of tulle to scraps of old bedding.

Felt for creativity

The felt panel is one of the most popular among needlewomen. All you need is pieces of felt of different colors, a pattern for future details of the picture, thread with a needle or glue and a base on which it is planned to fix all the details of the panel. Felt is a very fertile material for creativity: it will help to bring all fantasies to life. The felt panel will be an excellent decoration for the living room or hallway.

Burlap is a seemingly nondescript material, but it starts to play with completely different colors when the craftswomen use it in their work. Burlap can be used to cover a frame for a panel, it can be used as a basis for other materials: beads, lace and others. This coarse material perfectly enhances the softness and sophistication of other fabrics.

This wool panel is the simplest product using the wet felting technique. This is an interesting process in which the wool is compacted in a certain way in order to make felt. The drawing on such a panel can be anything: it all depends on the skill of the needlewoman.

If you want to take a single-colored piece of fabric and paint a certain picture on it, then keep in mind that it is not as easy as it seems. It is worth practicing on the draft, and then move on to the fabric that you plan to use on the panel.

From beads

In this version of the panel, all or part of its elements are made of beads. To begin with, the elements themselves are made, and then they are fixed on the base and, if desired, are framed.

Of thread and nails

This is far from a new, but very interesting way to make a panel with your own hands! Minimalism in the choice of materials reigns here, but this panel does not become insipid and boring, but, on the contrary, attracts admiring glances.

The whole point is that carnations are hammered onto a solid base. This can be done chaotically, or it can be done according to a certain scheme, which can be successfully found on the Internet. Threads are pulled between the nails in several layers. Thanks to this, a certain drawing is created.

From buttons

Ideal for beginners! Buttons can be used to decorate a panel made of fabric or paper, or you can create a product made entirely of buttons. This will require

  • PVA glue;
  • Buttons;
  • The foundation.

Execution order:

  1. Draw on the basis of a sketch: where the buttons will be located and what pattern they should all depict together.
  2. Glue the buttons with PVA glue to the base.

The design can be any: inscriptions, abstraction, flora and fauna and others.

Mirror panel

A modern panel created from pieces of mirrors. Only specialists will be able to make complex versions of it, and simple ones are even very accessible for independent work. The mirror panel will become additional lighting in the room.

Necessary materials:

  • Mirror tiles;
  • Liquid Nails;
  • Base with wooden slats, if you plan to stick mirrors not directly on the wall.

The principle of operation is clear: we combine various mirror pieces and attach them in the right order to a wall or other base on liquid nails.

They are usually made in an abstract style from a variety of wood species. Wooden panels with inlaid semi-precious stones look very beneficial in a classic interior.

Dry flowers and leaves

Great for kids' creativity. We decide on the plot of the future work, and then on a solid base (cardboard, fiberboard) with the help of glue we glue dried flowers and leaves (juniper twigs, tree leaves - any flora will do). Grains, seeds and twigs will be an excellent addition.

Groats and seeds

A sketch of the future painting is applied to a solid, already painted base. Then, cereals and seeds are attached to the base with PVA glue. Large grains need to be glued each individually, and small scattering, for example, rice, should be poured onto the glue already applied to the base.

Paper flowers can decorate a room on cold winter days, when there are so few real flowers around us. The new trend is to make these pieces really big. They are suitable as props for fabulous photo shoots or just a decorative element. And the larger the flower, the more it will impress.

Large paper flowers are perfect as decorations for any special occasion. Save money on those annoying balloons and decorate your birthday or wedding party with such beautiful flowers. You do not need special equipment to create them, and the cost of materials will be much less than the cost of the usual decor.

You will need the following tools and materials:

  • templates for leaves and petals;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • pencil or pen;
  • compass;
  • wooden dowel.

First you need to make a petal pattern. You can use ready-made templates by printing a picture from the Internet, or build it yourself. Cut the template out of very thick cardboard as you will have to reuse it many times. After the template is ready, transfer its outline with a pencil to colored paper. A flower needs petals of several sizes. Make the petals the same shape in three or four different sizes.

If you print the template on a printer, just zoom in or out a little each time. And if you have a freehand drawing, from the smallest, set aside a few centimeters to each side and circle the outline along the points.

Once all the petals are drawn, cut them out. To complete this operation faster, simply fold the petals of the same size together. You can even just draw one piece, attach several layers of paper to it with clerical clips, and cut everything together with sharp scissors.

Now at the bottom of each petal, in the very center, make small cuts. 2.5 cm on small petals, and a little more on large ones.

Now apply a little glue to one half of the bottom of the petal and overlap the other half. Do not join the parts too tight.

Now you need to curl the petals from above. This can be done by hand, or by wrapping paper around a pencil or pen.

Next, you need to glue the petals together. Connect them, layering one on top of the other, at an angle of 45 degrees, coat with glue and hold for a while.

Glue the petals in a circle until you have a whole inflorescence. To be sure that there are enough petals for a whole circle, first just lay out the petals and try on how far they need to be glued to each other.

Using a compass, cut out a small circle that needs to be glued in the middle if the edges of the petals do not close tightly enough.

Now we glue the second layer of petals. Each smaller one is attached in the spaces between the larger petals.

Now we attach the third layer of petals.

And finally, the smallest petals in the middle.

Next, you need to make the core of the flower. Select paper in a contrasting color and fold it into a rectangle. Fold it in half as shown in the photo and cut. Now fold each of the short strips in half lengthwise and cut again. You will have 4 long, narrow stripes.

Fold the strips together and cut one edge so that it looks like a fringe.

Divide the strips in half. Each should have two.

Now we roll the strip around the pencil, smearing it with glue. It is even easier to use a wooden dowel as a basis for a roll.

Having twisted the first layer, add a second strip on top, continuing to wind it.

Bend the edges of the core slightly and glue it to the center of the flower.

Now, having built a template similar to the first, cut out a sheet of green paper.

Fold the sheet in half lengthwise.

Now fold the sheet like an accordion.

Here's what you should end up with.

Now expand the sheet. It should look like in the photo. Add these leaves to your flowers.

Picture, panel, drawing

Picture - a work of fine art made with paints, pencils, pastels, etc., on a flat basis (textile, paper, wood, etc.)

In this heading you can place your works of this type, made in the technique of painting or drawing and encaustics.

The picture can be framed, or it can be without it.

Unlike panel , a picture is drawn or painted, and panels are created using various decorative and applied techniques.

Master Class

Master Class (MK) is the transfer of his professional experience by the master (teacher), his consistent verified actions leading to a predetermined result.

To publish a master class, the work must be the author's (invented and made by you). If you used someone else's idea, you must indicate the author. (The link to the source should not lead to a site containing the sale of goods or services, since links to commercial sites are prohibited in accordance with clause 2.4. PS).

Your master class should not completely duplicate the one already in the Land of Masters. Before publishing, check through the search that there are no similar MKs on the site.

The process should be photographed in stages (see Tips for taking pictures of crafts) or filmed (see how to upload a video).

The order of registration: the first photo is the finished work that is proposed to be performed, the second photo is the materials and tools necessary for the work (or their detailed description), then the MC stages from the first to the last. The final photo (result of work) can repeat the very first one. Photos should be accompanied by clear and competent comments on the process.

If you have already published your MK on another site and you also want to publish it with us, then you need to follow all the rules for designing an MK, described above. In other words: in the entry with the MK type, you cannot just put a photo of the finished product and a link to a master class on another website.

Attention: all master classes in the Land of Masters are checked by site assistants. If the requirements of the Master Class section are not met, the type of entry will be changed. If the User Agreement of the site is violated, for example, copyright is violated, the record will be removed from publication.

A magical world, a world of flowers
Secret whisper of petals.
There is no name for those colors.
The fairy tale comes to life there.

Magic flower.
Words by Y. Entin, music. E. Krylatova
I painted a magic flower
I gave my soul to the drawing.
And probably the angel helped me
The painted flower came to life.
A magical flower that beckons to itself,
Not in the picture, but real.
I touched a living miracle
The magic flower is with me everywhere.
I live as if in a kind fairy tale,
My flower changes its colors
And now I'm not bored alone,
Little rainbow with me.

An unconventional way of toning paper.
I would like to introduce you to a new way of tinting paper using colorful stickers for writing. Such simple materials are always at hand for everyone. Stickers painted in bright, saturated colors have excellent color output.
For work we need: multi-colored stickers for writing (the adhesive side can be cut off), white paper for a printer or an album sheet, a bowl of warm water.

We dip the stickers in water, then put them on paper. Here you can show your imagination: cut out different geometric shapes, flowers from stickers; lay out on paper with a variety of patterns.

After the paper dries a little, remove the stickers. Our paper got colored and acquired the drawing, which was lined with multi-colored notes for notes.

Now you need to let the paper dry well, then put it under the press.
Our creative paper is ready. Can be used for background or decoration, but we will make rainbow flowers out of it. When working with such paper, children's hands do not get dirty, the paint is not erased and does not change color.

Corrugationis a very simple, familiar and accessible to everyone from childhood way of folding paper, fraught with great possibilities. Making crafts using corrugated paper is available even for preschoolers. Corrugating paper consists in folding a sheet back and forth alternately. The result is an "accordion" from which you can make various crafts.
This type of creativity develops in children fantasy, imagination, spatial thinking, hand motor skills; aesthetic taste, accuracy, diligence are brought up.

Equipment:
- tinted paper;
- the basis for the panel;
- colored paper (green);
- gold foil;
- scissors;
- PVA glue;
- brush;
- stapler;
- ballpoint pen core;
- decorative tape;
- figured hole punch.

Safety precautions when working with PVA glue.
1. Work carefully, being careful not to drip glue.
2. Try not to get glue on clothes, face and especially eyes.
3. If any glue gets in your eyes, rinse well with water.
4. After work, close the glue tightly and remove.
5. Wash hands after work.
Safety precautions when working with scissors.
1. Scissors of medium size with blunt rounded ends are used for work.
2. Pay close attention to the cutting direction when working.
3. Do not hold the scissors with the blade up.
4. Do not leave scissors with open blades.
5. The scissors should be placed on the right with closed blades directed away from you.
6. Do not approach a friend during work.
7. Pass the closed scissors with the rings forward.
8. While working, hold the material with your left hand with your fingers to the side of the blade.
Stages of work.
Take a 7cm wide strip of paper, the length of a standard sheet of printer paper.
We start to do the corrugation.

Fold the "accordion" in half and fix it well.

Cut corners on both sides, sharpening them.

We fasten it with a stapler on the back side and we get a blank for a flower.
We do all the other flowers in the same way.

Cut out circles with a diameter of about 5 cm.

Cut each circle diagonally and make funnels.

Now we glue our flower with a funnel. We get such rainbow flowers.

To make the stem applique, we need to make paper tubes. To do this, you will need colored green paper and a ballpoint pen refill. We wind the paper on the rod, coat the edge with glue and glue it to the tube. Our blank is ready.

With a simple pencil, draw the bend of the stem and begin to glue, spreading it out with paper tubes.

We glue the flowers, placing them up on the stem.

Cut out elongated leaves from colored paper.
