As you know, at the moment seven nations are represented in the "World of Tanks". At the beginning of the battle, the player has access to one tank from each nation. As the tanks are pumped, the player buys new combat vehicles, researches modules and can transfer the crew from tank to tank. But while there are some restrictions regarding specialization and nations. How to transfer a crew to World of Tanks and do it as efficiently as possible, we'll talk in our article.

About the crew

A tank of any nation has its own crew. If at least one crew member is absent, it will not work to enter the battle. The number of crew members varies from two to six people. As a rule, two crew members meet on Tier 1-2 tanks. Only two tanks in the game had a crew of one commander - the Karl self-propelled guns and the T62a Sport. Karl appeared in World of Tanks on April 1st 2014 as a joke. As for the "sports" version of the T62a, this medium tank stayed in the game for a month (at the time of the 2014 FIFA World Cup) and participated only in football battles.

Each crew member has his own specialization. There are five specialties: commander, loader, gunner, radio operator and driver. The commander and driver are present on every tank. As for the rest, their duties can be performed by other crew members (mainly commanders). On vehicles of the post-war period, as a rule, the tank's crew consists of 4 members (there is no radio operator).

All unused crew members "spend" their time in the barracks. If the barracks are full, then you will have to expand it for gold - 300 gold for 16 additional places.

Transfer restrictions

At the moment, there are two restrictions on crew transfer. First, you cannot transfer the crew of another nation to a tank of one nation. Second, specialization cannot be retrained. Thus, experienced players riding Soviet tanks have a bunch of unnecessary radio operators in their hangar.

However, with the last point "Wargaming" promised to figure it out. Perhaps, soon there will be an opportunity to retrain radio operators as commanders or driver mechanics as gunners.

Why is the crew being transferred?

In fact, crew transfers are performed only in two cases. The first case is related to the pumping of a new tank and the transfer of the crew of the old tank to a new combat vehicle. The second case is "used" by owners of premium vehicles who use premium tanks as a simulator for the crew. If you transfer the crew of one tank to another, then it will have a "kind of penalty". This does not apply to premium tanks, as there will be no penalty when the crew of a single-class tank is transferred into them. For example, you can effectively use the crew of a tier 10 IS-7 heavy tank on a premium TT USSR - KV-5.

When recruiting a new specialist, 3 levels of training are available: maximum (100%) - tank academy, high (75%) - regimental school, low (50%) - accelerated courses. The Tank Academy is available only for gold (200 gold for each specialist). Accelerated courses are free, and for a specialist who graduated from a regimental school, you will have to pay 20 thousand silver.

Crew transfer instructions

Let's say you bought a new tank and it needs a new crew. How to transfer a crew to WoT? In one of the latest patches, thanks to modders, a convenient transplant option has appeared. Previously, each crew member had to be transplanted separately. Now it can be done with one button.

So, first we land the crew of the old tank. To do this, you need to click on the icon shown in the screenshot below and click "Drop off". If there is enough space in the barracks, then the crew members will automatically go to it.

If you want to land a certain specialist, then click on him with the left mouse button and select “Land in the barracks”.

If you are going to sell an old tank, then the tankers can be sent to the barracks. This option is set by default when a combat vehicle is sold.

To add a specialist to a new tank, you need to left-click in the corresponding specialization window and select a tanker from the list provided.

If you do not have an appropriate specialist, you will have to recruit a new crew member.

This completes the transfer, but the crew still needs to be retrained. You can use the special retraining button "Retrain". It is available only when at least one tanker does not have a specialization to control a particular tank.

You can retrain each tanker separately. To do this, click on the tanker and select "Personal file". Then in the new window, select the "Training" tab and click on the "Current tank" button. After that we mark the level of training (100%, 75% or 50%) and complete everything by clicking on the "Train" button.

Retraining Tricks

Upon reaching level 6, your crew will begin to acquire the first perks and skills (skills and abilities). The experience spent on obtaining them in previous battles can be used for retraining. Thus, it will be possible to get 100% crew on a new tank without using gold.

We go into the personal file of the tanker and reset the skills of the specialist with the button "Reset".

In this case, be sure to reset skills for silver. This way you will lose less experience when resetting.

Then go to the "Training" tab and retrain a crew member for silver. If you have enough experience, then you will get a tanker with 100% specialization.

How to transfer a crew?

World of Tanks is gaining momentum in popularity. Players take part in combat battles, move around in different tanks, develop skills, buy new equipment and transfer their crews from tank to tank. Nevertheless, there are some nuances in the matter of team transfer due to specifications, existing restrictions and specializations of tankers. In this article, we will tell you how to transfer the crew as efficiently as possible without losing extra resources and experience. If you are just learning the basics of this online game, then you will also be interested in the article, which provides practical advice for novice players.

The objectives of the transfer of the crew of the combat vehicle

Basically, they do it in two different situations:

  1. Players with premium tanks want to use them to train their crew;
  2. The gamer is pumping over his new tank in order to then transfer units from the old and less powerful weapon to the new equipment.

Do not forget that there are certain restrictions under which you will not be able to transfer the crew to another tank or will lose experience because of this. So, the crew from the tanks of one nation cannot be transferred to the tanks of another nation. There is also no possibility to retrain a specialist from one area to another specialization. However, the WoT developers are now working on this and the situation may change.

Steps to transfer tankers

So, you have acquired a new vehicle and now you want to transfer the crew to it in the world of tanks. What is required for this:

  1. Drop units from the old tank by pressing the "Drop" button on your vehicle. If you need to drop a certain crew member, left-click on him and drop him into the barracks. If you want to sell your tank, all crew members must be transferred to the barracks;
  2. To add a unit to a new tank, click in the specialization window for a tanker available in your list. In the absence of the required crew member, you will have to recruit a new tanker;
  3. Now the main task is retraining. The "Retrain" button will be available if at least one tanker does not have a specialization to control a new tank;
  4. It is better to retrain tankers one by one and separately, otherwise the experience may not be distributed the way you want it and certain units will receive the wrong level of pumping. Click on their "Personal File" and go to the "Training" menu. Then go to the "Current tank" and select the level - 50, 75 or 100%. Now click on the "Train" button.

Please note that you can transfer a crew without losing experience only when transferring to a premium tank. It is perceived as a tank of the same level with the previous equipment, so experience is not lost. In other cases, you will have to retrain.

Little learning tricks

After reaching level 6, the crew will have skills and abilities. Experience gained in battles is used for retraining, getting 100% skills without spending gold.

For this:

  1. Go to the Personal File, reset skills using silver (this will help you lose less experience);
  2. Go to the Training menu and retrain units for silver. If you have a lot of experience, then your tanker will receive a high specialization 100% without the cost of gold.

Many tankers, having spent more than one thousand battles in the game, have already forgotten their first days in tanks, when you, like a blind kitten, drove a gun in a circle and fired at the first silhouette they saw, without making out who was your enemy or ally. We were surprised at the first ricochets and non-penetrations. You will hardly remember how you looked at the faces of your tank crews, their shoulder straps, and postponed until a better time the analysis of the principle of their development.

But one of the most important features of the World of Tanks game is crew training. Many beginners will find this article very helpful.

1. Experience and pumping the crew.

Let's start with the basics. As you know, there are 2 types of pumping in World of Tanks. First, you need to earn experience by researching new types of equipment and modules that improve its characteristics. Secondly, during the game, new skills increase among tankers who control your vehicles. First, you need to understand that the crew has two types of skills - basic and additional. The main skill of a tanker determines the degree of his proficiency in the profession. So, for example, the better the driver is trained, the faster he changes gears and presses on the gas pedal, the faster the tank accelerates and turns, its turret turns. The gunner's skill affects the accuracy of shooting and the speed of aiming. Loader for reload speed and so on. With each battle, except for training battles, your tank earns a certain amount of experience. Moreover, the better the battle went, the more damage you inflicted, discovered and destroyed enemies, the more experience you get. The earned amount of experience is credited to the tank itself and to each member of its crew. Moreover, if a tank has an elite status (it has nothing to research), then the experience that it should receive can be transferred to the balance of the lagging tanker with the help of the flag. When the tanker's skill level reaches 100%, you will get the opportunity to train one of the additional skills. After the completion of the pumping of the selected additional skill, the tanker can study any of the remaining ones. Each next skill requires twice as much experience. Only a few players have trained more than four additional crew skills. By the way, for learning additional skills, the crew of your tank is encouraged to advance in service. For every 50%, he receives another military rank, but no more than 8 promotions. There are no generals tankers in the game. According to the declared rules of the game, the main skill also affects the level of proficiency in all additional skills. This should mean that if a tanker has additional skills and is retrained with a loss of experience, then these skills work as much worse than his primary skill. But this, at least, is not always the case. First, the so-called "perks", which work only when fully pumped, continue to work even when the main skill of the tanker is less than 100%. And secondly, the work of some, not all gradually improving skills at the moment does not depend on the level of the main skill. The main skill of a crew member is oddly not limited to 100%. It is additionally influenced by the skill of the commander, which improves the skills of all other tankers by one-tenth of their own skill, ventilation, combat brotherhood and one-time premium consumables (different for each nation).

2. Transfer of the World of Tanks crew from tank to tank. Each of us, having pumped any tank, anti-tank or self-propelled artillery installation and having accumulated the necessary amount for its purchase, is faced with the question: "how to transfer a crew to it?" Whether to take new tankers, or retrain the existing ones from the previous vehicle. Complicating the task is the fact that when the crew is retrained for a new tank, he immediately forgets everything that connected him with the previous vehicle. Transplanting back will require a new retraining. This feature of the game, which has a rather weak connection with reality, must nevertheless be taken into account. If you are going to leave your favorite tank in the hangar, then it makes sense to leave its crew on it. Exceptions are premium and promotional tanks. But about them a little later. Transferring a crew from an old tank or hiring new tankers can be done in one of three ways: free of charge, for a silver credit or in-game gold. The difference between these methods lies in the amount of experience lost. At the same time, only the experience of the first basic skill is lost. The experience invested in additional skills during the budgetary retraining of a tanker for new equipment does not theoretically disappear anywhere. In practice, there may be a minor transfer of experience from additional to basic. This is probably due to rounding errors. If you plant a new crew, then from the buy menu you get a tanker with a 50% skill level, very bad at handling new vehicles. By spending 20 thousand silver per person, you will bring their skills up to 75%. You will get a crew that is more or less able to work. And by paying 200 gold for each vacant place, you can immediately and fully use all the characteristics of your new tank. If you transfer a crew from a previous tank of the same type - from medium to medium, from light to light, and so on, then the free retraining will take 20% of the current main skill from it. Silver will halve the loss of skill, and gold will immediately allow you to get a crew ready for battle on a new vehicle. If the transfer takes place between vehicles of different types, for example, in cases when a heavy tank appears in the development tree of medium tanks, then the loss of experience increases slightly. However, according to one of the basic principles of the game, investing real money does not give the player a decisive advantage. And when training the crew, a small loophole is left for players who do not have the desire to pay gold. Before you choose the next additional skill, the experience gained is simply saved up for the tanker, and when the tanker is transferred to a new vehicle, this lost experience is first selected from such a reserve. If you have accumulated a sufficient amount of not distributed experience, with a free or silver retraining, you can immediately get a tanker with 100% basic skill. In addition, when training the crew, the player has the right to make mistakes, which is not often found in World of Tanks. If you accidentally transferred the crew from tank to tank in a cheaper way than planned, then you can return the lost experience by paying for the next level training. With one caveat, if unallocated additional experience was spent, then it will not be possible to restore it.

If you temporarily register an alien crew on a tank without retraining at all, you can get into battle on this tank. But, firstly, the tankers will be managed with their duties as if they had undergone free retraining. And secondly, they will receive half the experience for the battles, and the double experience for the first victory of the day will pass them by. There is one exception here, which allows us to pump the crews of interesting tanks much faster. By purchasing a premium tank, you will not only be able to earn the much-needed silver credits faster, but the crew of the same nation of the same type transferred to it will be able to fulfill their duties to the same extent and receive the earned experience. True, you still won't be able to plant soldiers from a light or medium tank on a premium heavy tank without a fine. Now in World of Tanks, you cannot transfer a crew to vehicles of other nations, or change the profession of a tanker. But soon the opportunity to change professions for tankers may appear. Therefore, do not rush to demobilize unnecessary radio operators and gunners, they may still come in handy.

3. Selection of additional skills for WoT crew members, training. When choosing additional crew skills, first of all, you need to know well the mechanics of their work, so as not to accidentally choose useless skills. The choice of skills is your individual decision, it should be made based on the class of the tank, its key features and your own playing style. No review can give you the best advice that's right for you. Different players successfully use completely differently trained crews on the same vehicle. However, we will try to give you some universal recommendations.

The "Sixth Sense" perk is very useful for any tank in random battles. If your tank is capable of withstanding at least three or four hits, then the crew must study repairs. The camouflage skill is perfect for crews with small overall tank units and light tanks with a good base stealth coefficient.

In addition, regardless of the vehicle class, the combat brotherhood skill in combination with ventilation will significantly increase the fighting qualities. A typical mistake of players who begin to pump out the fighting brotherhood is pumping it first, to the sixth sense, repair or disguise. However, playing on a tank without a sixth sense and with a base repair speed is much more difficult than on a tank without fighting brotherhood. And before the light bulb starts working, in this case you will have to gain an extra 210 thousand experience. That is, spend 200-400 more fights than if you pumped it first. And so in the first set of skills it is better to choose the sixth sense for the commander and repair or disguise for all the rest of the crew. You can safely experiment with the second skills. Although such experience may require certain costs for resetting skills, it certainly won't be superfluous.

4. Practical differences in the characteristics of tanks depending on the skill of the crew.

Now let's see how the 100% crew differs from the one that was transferred to the tank for free or for silver credits. The first and most striking difference is that a crew trained for gold immediately spends the experience gained on training additional skills. And when transferring for silver credits or free training, before improving secondary skills, the crew will first have to raise their main skill to the maximum one hundred percent. Secondly, everything that a less trained crew does, it makes it worse. After retraining the crew, some perks continue to work, regardless of the main skill. The level of the main crew skill does not affect the speed of repair in any way. On the other hand, the dispersion of the gun when fully adjusted when fired directly depends on the level of training of the tankers, and specifically the gunner. The same applies to the speed of mixing. The influence of even a fairly low level of crew skills on the reload time is quite noticeable (it reaches 10 seconds). The more effort you put into training your crew, the more precision you can expect. The dynamics of the tank also depends on the training of the crew, including the ventilation and the fighting brotherhood, the same applies to the turning speed. Differences in the field of view are clearly visible depending on the skill of the commander. Every 10% of his main skill, tens of meters, increases the tank's sight range.

What other tips can you give on crew training. To train the crew of your new tank, you will have to spend either time or money. The higher the skills of the crew, the better most of the characteristics of the tank, the more combat-ready it is and the more opportunities you get to influence the outcome of the battle. So, when transferring for silver, even from vehicles of the same class, to level up skills from 90 to 100%, you will have to gain almost 40,000 experience and spend several dozen battles on a tank, the characteristics of which are somewhat underestimated due to the lack of training of tankers. The developers of World of Tanks rightly expect that for many players, 200 gold, or about 20 rubles in real money, for each crew member will not seem too high a price for the opportunity to avoid these inconveniences and for translating the experience gained from the first battles into secondary skills of the crew. But, according to the authors of the game, these differences are not important enough to force players to make such payments. In any case, the last word will be yours. Pay a gold for a small improvement and comfort, or demonstrate an example of resilience and spend time pumping your crew in battle. The only thing that can be said with complete confidence is that you should not transfer your crew for free!
