Belitskoe- city of regional significance. Administratively, it is subordinate to the city of Dobropolye. It is located in the northwestern part of the region, in the valley of the Vodyana River (a tributary of the Byk River, the Dnieper basin). Located near the railway station Mertsalovo.

In 1932-1933, the first geologists from Yuzovka appeared on the farm, who discovered large deposits hard coal. In the future, there was the construction of a mine and a city, but the Great Patriotic War crossed everything out. In the fall of 1941, the farm was captured by the Nazis. The Germans first came to the farm in mid-November 1941.

In February 1943, during the first attempt to liberate the city of Krasnoarmeysk (then called Krasnoarmeyskoye), tankers and infantrymen from the remnants of the 10TK units (tank corps) retreating from the city of Krasnoarmeysk, as well as civilians who were buried in brotherly grave.

In 1951, a project was approved for the construction of a mine with a workers' camp for 15,000 people.

In 1953, the construction of the village began. Demobilized soldiers, young people from all over the Soviet Union came here on Komsomol vouchers.
