Probably, many have heard the expression "God's punishment" in relation to left-handed children. In Soviet schools, left-handed students almost always suffered, who were forcibly forced to perform all actions with their right hand. This led to the fact that the child became capricious and irritable, began to lag behind in studies, his memory deteriorated, not to mention frequent headaches, lethargy. As a result of such forced retraining to be right-handed, the children developed neurotic reactions and nervous tics, the tempo of speech was disturbed, leading to stuttering. But then in the USSR, no one ever associated such children's problems with the phenomenon of left-handedness until the Ukrainian scientist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Anatoly Chuprikov achieved the fact that, since 1985, left-handers in schools in the USSR stopped retraining to write with their right hand. Naturally, it has become easier for left-handed children, but there are still very few special products for left-handed people that would facilitate their learning process and everyday life.

Scientists say that left-handers and right-handers around the globe are roughly equal. Although we do not notice this, because many are retrained left-handers, and there is still a stereotype that the leading hand is right and that being left-handed is wrong. Despite the claims of scientists, the market for products offered specifically for left-handers is small. Peripherals for left-handers are not made by all companies, and what they produce is more of a compromise than a fully functional solution.

Now computers and all kinds of PC-based educational programs play a significant role in the process of teaching children. In our computer age, parents are increasingly faced with the problem of choosing goods for children, especially it is important to choose the best devices that would not harm the child due to left-handedness. Since children can spend some time at the monitor screen, it is necessary to provide them with comfortable conditions so as not to harm the young growing body.

Parents of children who choose computer peripherals for a computer are often preoccupied with the question of what products to buy for their child. With legal issues cleared and which products are certified for educational use, parents begin looking for suitable products for their kids.

The first problem, which parents may encounter - the lack of mice for use by left-handers. If the child is left-handed, then you should not retrain him and make him work with the mouse only with his right hand. After all, there are specially designed mice produced by the company Logitechdesigned both for the left hand and for both hands.

If the screen and keyboard are about the same in use, both left-handed and right-handed, then computer mice must be selected taking into account the peculiarities of each individual hand. At the head of the company Logitech there are both left-handers and right-handers, who not only carefully monitor all changes in the peripheral market, but also try to fully satisfy the needs of users. Including, they are constantly working on improving special mice for left-handers. Company Logitech manufactures not only compatible mice for left and right hands, but also special series of mice intended only for left-handers.

Firm Logitech produces not only simple models mice, but also functional. For example, the MX ™ 610 left-handed laser mouse. There are also compatible mice that are suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users. These are the LX5, LX7 and Cordless Mini Optical Mouse models.

There are also special, "gaming" series of peripherals (mice: models and), which allow you to achieve maximum efficiency in computer games, which, of course, are also of interest to schoolchildren.

Second important problem - This is the so-called tunnel syndrome, which can cause arthritis in the user of the wrong computer mouse. There are a considerable number of mouse models on the market, however, not all of them have the correct ergonomic shape. Therefore, by purchasing the wrong mouse, parents can ruin the student's health. When you buy a computer, you first of all pay attention to the amount of RAM, processor frequency, but sometimes you forget about input devices. The keyboard and mouse are very important: after all, these are the devices with which your hands constantly touch when working with a computer, and they are the ones that primarily affect your health. So, you have a computer mouse in your hand. But not everyone knows that using a mouse is hazardous to health. Hands, wrists, forearms, shoulders - all of this because of the mouse can be seriously affected if the choice is not taken seriously. For many, the danger posed by mice and other input devices is not new. They began to talk about "mouse problems" in the late 90s in connection with the now-known disease associated with the use of a mouse, keyboard - carpal tunnel syndrome - KTS... It is also called carpal tunnel syndrome - SZK.

The most common cause of the disease, directly related to working at a computer, is the monotonous long repetitive movements of the hands and fingers, which is aggravated by the wrong position of the hands during work. This leads to the constant occurrence of microtraumas of the neurovascular bundle and surrounding tissues. After a while, there is inflammation, tissue edema, which leads to even greater compression of the nerve.

Genetic predisposition and joint diseases, metabolic disorders and changes in hormonal levels, hand and forearm injuries also contribute. But the main reason is long-term, monotonous improper work with the hands and fingers. CCC affects people of various professions. Drawers, secretaries, musicians, drivers, assembly line workers - this is not a complete list of professions that predispose to CCC. One hundred or two hundred years ago, carpal tunnel syndrome was an occupational disease of clerks who copied various papers from morning to evening. And in our time, PC users are greatly affected by it, who for many hours make monotonous small movements with their hands, moving the mouse or typing on the keyboard.

Tunnel syndrome is a disorder that causes pain in the wrist and arises from an uncomfortable working environment with a keyboard and mouse.

In a child working with mice Logitech, tunnel syndrome will never appear as the hand will hold the mouse in a natural position and no arthritis will develop from improper fixation. Research and development department of the company Logitech pays special attention to such an important parameter as the ergonomics of future products. Moreover, when it comes to products aimed primarily at children. Mice designed for children have a shape that is maximally adapted to the child's hand, which reduces the risk of tunnel syndrome. Mice manufactured by the company Logitech, fully meet all hygienic requirements, and can be used for teaching children.

If you don’t have any problems how to hold the mouse correctly, don’t think about the location of the rug, don’t feel discomfort while working at the computer or playing your favorite game, and there is no pain in your hand, then you should not change the mouse grip.

Hand position

Let's talk about how to hold the mouse correctly. First, start by placing your hand on the table. What are the common options?

  1. This is the position when you have a brush for high mouse sensitivity. Your brush is on the edge of the table and move the mouse from left to right. Your adjustments are done almost exclusively with a brush.
  2. The most common hand position is when the edge of the table and the middle of the forearm are aligned. This type is quite effective, since the movement is equivalent and without much load, and the area of \u200b\u200bthe hand covers half of your table. You can run your hand all over the rug without any problems. This position is the best answer to the question of how to properly hold the mouse in your hand.
  3. Your elbow touches the edge of the table, given view coverage is not suitable for everyone. Too much amplitude with hand movement occurs, thereby your muscles begin to tire faster.

How to hold the mouse correctly in shooters?

In shooter games, you must follow some rules:

  1. The size of the computer mat. The larger the carpet size, the better your movements are synchronized with minimal loss of accuracy. Conduct a little test: while in the game, place the mouse exactly in the middle of the mat. Remember the position of the scope, try to make the perfect horizontal movement to the borders of our mat. The optimal turn will be at least 180˚. If you cannot get a turnover with this value, you need to adjust the sensitivity - the sensitivity of the mouse - or purchase a large mat.
  2. Mouse sensitivity. Obviously, a low sensitivity value gives you more accuracy in hitting opponents, especially at long and medium distances, but the less your mobility is near.

Let's move on to the location of the rug

The location of the carpet must be made so that it hangs slightly from the table surface. This is an advantage of the large rug. In this position, your hand will have an equal plane under it at the entire distance, thereby improving the quality of the game. In another case, two ribs appear, which will cause inconvenience in the hand.

Once you find your mouse grip, the performance in shooters will not take long. Objectively, there is no ideal hand position, each user chooses for himself how he will be more comfortable.

How to hold the mouse correctly?

  1. Finger grip. When your wrist fits snugly against the mat, it improves micro-targeting accuracy, but makes it harder for your character to melee. It is used by a fairly small number of people. This grip does not provide enough control. The most important disadvantage: if you have a large mouse, your hand will get very tired. In general, this grip places a huge strain on the muscles of the forearm.
  2. Hand grip. This grip is very comfortable, it is positioned so that you completely put your hand on the mouse. Problems can arise when the ring finger can be on the right mouse button or on the button on the side of the device. The little finger should lightly brush against the rug. The direction of the mouse must be identical with the direction of the hand, a straight line is obtained.
  3. Claw grip. This is when your index and middle fingers are positioned like claws on the mouse. This grip is considered the most uncomfortable of the proposed types. It can be combined with a wrist, and you get a pretty convenient location.

As you can see, there are several options for gripping the mouse. Choose the most convenient one for you.

In order to decide how to keep the mouse in the game, there are several factors to consider:

  • sensitivity (resolution) of the mouse
  • rug size
  • mouse shape

Mouse sensitivity

By changing the mouse sensitivity, you can adjust the pointer speed on the monitor and in the game. The lower the mouse sensitivity, the slower its speed, and vice versa, the higher the sensitivity, the faster its speed. Some models of mice are equipped with additional buttons that allow you to instantly switch the DPI of the mouse, changing its sensitivity.

Mouse sensitivity in CS game

The lower the mouse sensitivity, the more accurate your shooting at long and medium ranges, but the less your mobility at short distances. Conversely, with high mouse sensitivity, you move around the map quite comfortably, you can quickly react to an unexpected situation, but you lose accuracy at long and medium distances.

In order to set the optimal mouse sensitivity in a CS game, you need to place the mouse in the middle of the carpet and move your hand to the edge of the mat. Your model in the game should rotate 180 degrees. Consequently, by swiping the mouse horizontally across the entire rug, the model should be turned at least 360 degrees.

If you have insufficient spread, do not write off changing the sensitivity of the mouse, pay attention to the mat. Maybe you should buy it in a larger size. After all, what bigger size mouse pad, the higher your mobility without loss of accuracy.

How do I adjust mouse sensitivity?

  • If your mouse is equipped with additional buttons for dynamic sensitivity change, then you can switch the resolution (DPI) by clicking on them.
  • If the mouse is not equipped with additional buttons, then you need to launch the Mouse Control Center, select your mouse and click on Basic Options. There you will find Sensitivity. Adjust the settings and click the Apply button.

Position of the mat, hand and fingers in the game

Mat position in play

Correctly keep mouse in play not enough, you need to conveniently place a rug under it. The position of the mat during play should be such that it hangs slightly off the table. This is another advantage of the large rug. In this position, your hand will have the same surface throughout. This will increase the stability of your game as there will be no unnecessary variables. Otherwise, you will have two sharp corners that will cause micro discomfort.

Hand position in the game

Keep the mouse in play try as naturally as possible. In this case, the hand should not be very tense. If the wrist rests tightly on the mat, it improves accuracy when micro targeting, but constrains movement in melee and when turning away from grenades.

Keep mouse in the game it is better that the wrist lightly touches the mat and the hand is not constantly tense. To do this, place your hand so that the middle of your forearm rests on the edge of the table (mat).

Finger position in the game

How you keep your fingers on depends on its shape. Three fingers are responsible for aim - thumb, ring and little fingers. Place your hand on the mouse and pinch with three fingers. The little finger should barely touch the rug. The ring finger should be firmly pressed against the little finger so that it does not dangle and touch the mouse button. You need to hold the mouse in the game with exactly three fingersso that the nameless one does not dangle and prevent the index finger from pressing the mouse button.

The rest of the fingers, index and middle, are responsible for clicks and reactions. In order to maximize the mouse click speed, you need to keep the index finger slightly bent. Do not bend it too much or, on the contrary, keep it straight, this will slow down the mouse click speed.

Let's summarize. How to keep the mouse in the game

Keep the mouse in play it is necessary as naturally as possible, holding it with three fingers. The little finger should barely touch the mat. For maximum mouse click speed, keep your index finger slightly bent.

The rug should hang slightly off the table, the wrist should touch the rug slightly, and the middle of the forearm should rest on the edge of the table (rug).

Don't forget about the correct mouse sensitivity and mat size.

Well, now we figured out how to keep the mouse in the game. It turns out it's not that difficult.

People who spend a lot of time at the computer complain that their mice are not comfortable. Especially gamers who spend much more time at the computer than the average user. They complain of pain in the wrist, their hands are not comfortable on the mice: winked:
That is why the author of this homemade product decided to make the mouse described below. It is always comfortable with it, since the mouse is only your hand. There are certainly more complex options, but it requires knowledge of programming, additional components, a controller that will control the position of your head. And the whole thing will be controlled by the mouse cursor. But this is the cheapest and lowest budget option.

We'll start with a dead computer mouse ... Well ... not quite dead, but just an old computer mouse that you don't use anymore. If you don't have a mouse (which is unlikely) ... then you can always buy one. Or borrow from a friend, but warn in advance that you are not going to return it back: wink:.

What do you need

  • old computer mouse x 1
  • mouse buttons x 2
  • a pair of gloves
  • insulating tape
  • Glue Gun
  • Soldering iron
  • wires
  • Small breadboard
  • scissors

    Choosing gloves

The gloves you will be using should be loose enough to accommodate the mouse circuit board. Better, of course, if these are gloves with "fingers", and not short cut-off gloves, like the author's. Then you don't have to sew separate “fingers” for your gloves.
So. Are you ready to sacrifice one pair of gloves?

    Modification of the mouse PCB.

Unsolder the left and right buttons from the board. And scrolling, perhaps, is also not needed. Solder it too. Insulate the board from the side of the conductive tracks with electrical tape.

    Preparation of gloves.

First you need to cut the gloves in order to insert the printed circuit board inside.

If it is impossible to cut the gloves, you can, on the contrary, sew on a piece of fabric, or even better leather.
Take 4 wires of equal length. They are needed to connect buttons. The softer the wire, the better. You can use a cord from a telephone headset. It is very flexible and two conductors fit into each headphone, in isolation. Insert these wires into the glove as shown in the photo. Index finger for left click, middle for right. So, we only need two fingers.

Solder one ends of the wires to the board, where the buttons came out.

Note that the buttons have three pins. Therefore, on the board, solder the wires to those two contact pads from which the tracks go further to the board (see photo, circled in red). True, this photo is already a different mouse. My.

The second ends of the wires will subsequently be soldered to the buttons.
    Installing the board.

Insert the board inside the glove. It is necessary to carefully mark the place for the plastic prism on the underside of the glove.
Carefully cut out the window according to the markings. Fix the prism. Test the mouse to make sure it responds properly to movement.

    Connection of buttons.

It will be inconvenient to use them. Find the buttons like the one highlighted in red, the button in the photo, they are much more convenient.
Solder the buttons onto small pieces of the breadboard. Solder the wires previously soldered to the mouse board to these buttons. Pin the buttons to the "fingers". You can use hot melt glue for this, or you can try to sew a piece of fabric on the "fingers" and fix the buttons on the glove. Adjust the location of the buttons so that you feel comfortable pressing them, and your hand does not strain.

We need to figure out how to attach the scroll wheel. Perhaps you can do without a video. You can scroll the page by pressing and holding the middle button. You can attach the middle button to your thumb, which is virtually idle. Then you need two more wires and a button. There are many options. We must try as it will be convenient for anyone.
